As a mother I have found no greater pain than watching one of my children suffering and there's…read morenothing I can do to take away their pain. When my son was struggling, I didn't know how to help him, I didn't know what words to say to help his young mind understand what he was going through, to free him from his anxieties and fears. I was out of my depth and needed to find someone who, not only understood what we were going through, but who could help my son feel safe enough to talk about about difficult things. After I met Courtney and watched her with my son, I felt the tightening in my chest begin to lessen and I knew we had found the right person. She was amazing. Courtney created a space for my son where he felt safe and was able to open up. She started with a boy too afraid to speak about events that happened and patiently worked with him, helping him to find his voice. She taught him how to express what he was feeling, to no longer be afraid and full of anxiety. She helped him find coping strategies that resonated with him, so he could begin challenging the negative thoughts and replacing them with confidence and self worth. Courtney is a patient, compassionate, amazing therapist, and it is clear from the moment you meet her, she has a gift and that gift is helping children.

My husband started getting a little out of control but Dr. Vernon talked him down and controlled the situation without making him feel like he was losing control. She showed him/us how to talk about things and work through things rationally and when we would start to lose it, she gave us the tools to regroup and focus on the real issues instead of battling it out on each other. We went through several sessions and came out stronger and finally able to communicate the right way. And in getting our relationship working again, made our children happier and healthier. It took time but Dr. V was willing to go the distance with us to get us where we needed to finally get to. THANK YOU, Dr. V!!!! We Absolutely recommend her!
