In about an hour, Meghan was able to help us solve both problems. We ended up coming away with measurements for a sofa that would fit in our space that we were able to take to a furniture store, some suggested sofas to look at, suggestions for how to optimize the layout and storage in our bedroom, and paint colors that we ended up loving. Even changing the paint color in our room and tweaking the layout there made a huge, huge difference in our happiness in our house. I think it is maybe difficult for some people to think about investing in the services of a designer, but we've said again and again since then about how much time and anxiety and probably one it has saved us since then because we ended up with paint and furniture that we loved right away. Having an outside eye also made the process of getting to a common place between what I wanted and what my husband wanted a lot easier.

Five out of five stars for Occupi Design and Meghan Brown!…read more I very strongly recommend Occupi Design for any remodel/design needs you may have. Meghan Brown is FANTASTIC. She has incredible attention to detail and I found her willing to go the extra mile. She is also VERY knowledgeable in the requirements and/or prohibitions of different building ideas. She was able to run interference on my building manger and the various contractors I had hired to complete my project and just generally made the whole thing so much less of a headache for me than it would have been otherwise. On top of all that, she has an amazing sense of style and taste and is able to bring ideas to the table that I would have never thought of on my own. If you are considering hiring a designer do yourself a favor and hire Occupi Design.

Without any architectural changes, it looks like a completely different place. I had wanted something that was fitting for a condo in a high rise, while still feeling welcoming and calm. She nailed it! We would highly recommend Carah :)

I met with her a few times in the months before my daughter was due and she helped me craft a vision for her room. Then she worked with my husband and surprised me one weekend when we were out of town. He had given her a key and she completely transformed the room. It was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. A few months later we worked with Nicole to transform our formal dining room into a multi-purpose diningroom/playroom (gotta get creative in city living). She also updated our kitchen for us and changed our mudroom from a dumping zone into an organized, functional and modern extension of our home. Nicole has great taste, but doesn't just design your home in her taste. She really cares and takes the time to get to know your likes and personal style. She then polishes it and creates something that is you, yet better. Best of all, she finds the most amazing deals. She knows where money should be spent and where you can get away with spending less. She has an ability to make things feel custom without the custom price tag. I look forward to working with Nicole again soon.

Every time I walked into the family room in our new home I had a near panic attack. None of our…read morefurniture worked in the space and I had zero idea where to start with a new design. When I suggested calling a designer, I could just hear the instant regret in my husband's voice when he agreed to it. We couldn't have made a better decision. While I could list 100 things I loved about the experience, I'll give you the top 5: - Nicole listens. Too often you hear stories of designers who impose their preferences on a client and pay little heed to the client's desires. I never felt that way with Nicole. She solicited our input throughout the process and regularly checked in with not just me, but my husband as well, so both of our design preferences were reflected in the final product. - Her designs are timeless. The colors, pieces and flow of the room look amazing now and will continue to look good years down the road. - She's professional, but fun. As stressed as I was about the process, she made me feel at complete ease and made the selection process a lot of fun. She explained to me why certain pieces would or wouldn't work, so I felt like I also received a little education and became [slightly] more knowledgeable about the rules of design. - My husband loves the final product. I didn't think it was possible that he would be delighted with anything that didn't include a wall-sized poster of Walter Payton, but he has repeatedly told me how much he likes the space now. - We want more. We'll be having Nicole back to do our bedroom next.

Julie does anything from basic design (sending you a floor plan design with a link to the items she suggests you purchase) to full service (accepting deliveries at your home, installing, constructing, styling, etc). Our house was 4 years old when we bought it, and while we loved the bones of it, there were some finishes we didn't love. I also had little to no vision for furnishing the space (we came from a much smaller, older home). Kristin first helped with our kitchen. She has amazing design sense, which of course, I would expect, but she is also very conscious of budget and helping people realize what they REALLY need. Our kitchen came out amazing, so of course we used KPI for our living and dining room. For this project, we were helped by Melissa Tase of KPI. Again, their services were impeccable. They understood that we have two small boys and that our space needed to be livable, as well as lovely. I can't tell you how many compliments we get on our living and dining and kitchen. If you want to see them, check out KPI's website and look at the Contemporary Coastal Living and Dining Room under Portfolio. We are now redoing our son's room and family room and will be starting on our basement this summer. Who are we using? Kristin Petro, of course. We really would only trust KPI with our design projects. She just gets it and gets us. And in reference to other comments, Kristin ALWAYS encourages us to get estimates from our own contractors. Of course she trusts her's the most because she works with them the most so she knows their workmanship is top notch, but she's totally open to other options and working with you to come to a plan that works for everyone. Thanks, KPI. You've made my home my favorite place to be. Can't wait to see what great things are to come.
