This place is better than its neighbor, Landsharks. This isn't saying much, though. It still sucks a hard one.

From the moment I walked in, I was obsessed with the atmosphere and all the thoughtful details that make the space feel so unique. I love that it effortlessly transforms from a cozy coffee shop by day into a cocktail bar at night--the vibes are immaculate no matter when you visit. The staff was exceptional and so helpful in walking me through the menu. One of my favorite things to do is ask the baristas what they recommend, and they definitely didn't disappoint. I went with a blueberry vanilla iced latte, and it was the perfect way to kick off my Friday.

Some were quietly relaxing while others were catching up over drinks. The coffeehouse-meets-cocktail-bar aesthetic is well executed and gives the space a distinct personality. I ordered the nonalcoholic Basil Needs a Break, and it was excellent. If you like basil, this drink definitely delivers. It was bright, refreshing, and very basil-forward. The service was friendly and welcoming. My only complaint was the temperature inside. It was nearly 100 degrees outside, but the bar felt warm with very little air circulation. It was almost refreshing to step back into the muggy heat after leaving, which probably isn't the feeling you're hoping to give your guests. I'd definitely come back for the drinks and atmosphere, but I'd hope for a cooler temp next time.

And there's a bartender inside who takes care of all the drinks. You order from one of the tablets outside nest to the shack (directions on how to order could be a lot clearer as there is no one in the dining room or the outdoor patio to direct you to the tablets). There's a little sandwich board on the ground with some instructions scrawled on dry-erase marker. After you order and pay on the tablet (cash not accepted). You wait until you get a text on your phone to let you know to pick up your order from the sliding window at the shack. The inside is a basic bar with a full drink menu and several beers on draft and in bottles. You can pay for your drinks with cash or card. The food is actually pretty good, but quite pricey for the level of service and the amount of food you get.

Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. We were never greeted or checked on during our visit and had to go up to the bar anytime we needed something. The bartenders seemed more focused on socializing with friends than serving customers, and it often took quite a while to get their attention. We understand it's a bar and people are there to have fun, but even a simple greeting and a little more attentiveness would have made for a much better experience.

I don't know why this pub flew under my radar, because apparently, it's been around since 1979. It's older than me! (By a hair, if we're keeping it 100.) Connor's Pub ain't nothing fancy, but it doesn't need to be. This is a neighborhood bar where you come to get a beer or a shot or a cocktail, and then just chill. They have half a dozen beers on tap, or if you're into mixed drinks, they have all the stuff to make you a little something. No frills, this place. The bar is dark and cool, a space to just hole up and relax. I visited to get a cheeky drink, as I sometimes do. I got a Rhinegeist Truth IPA, which they had on tap and is somewhat local, because it comes from Cincinnati. It was nice and refreshing, and the bartender did her best to make sure that the beer was presented with not a lot of head. They were out of my first choice, the 3 Floyds Zombie Dust, but I enjoyed my pint of my second-choice beer. They do have a food menu here, but I get the feeling that you don't come to Connor's for food. Because when I asked to see the menu, the bartender looked like I asked for a W-9 form. OK, I get it! This is a place for drinks, and as such, it totally serves its purpose.

I ordered an expresso martini which was good, but not a typical order at the bar. It was tasty. I also ordered wings and fries. The wings were seasoned well and super crispy. Perfect for soaking up liquor! They had college games and hockey on. There is electronic juke box, so eventually people started playing music. I'll definitely return.

I had the 12oz ribeye which was on the thin side but overall was a good steak. I expected a grizzly steak with a good amount of fat but it was on the leaner side for a ribeye and the whole steak was edible. My sides were fries(crinkle cut) and salad (a blen of iceberg and green leaf along with other veggies and cheese). Served with Texas toast. Overall a good value meal! Worth stopping for. The atmosphere was ok. A little stale and preppie. I believe they have another bar area which is divided by a wall, I cannot comment on that if so. Where I sat was more of a diner atmosphere with alcohol. Service was good
