The owner, Ms. Cheryl, made me feel so welcome and I just knew she would take care of my son like her own. You could feel the love oozing out of her. She's also a mother and knows what mothers feel. She's done a great job of keeping me abreast of the daily activities the kids' are doing and what they're learning. Over the past year, I've seen her bend over backwards for these little kids and even the parents at times. My son can now count beyond measures, write his name and is reading a few words. He's made some great friends and loves his teachers. It's tucked away from the road and attached to a church. The owner Miss Cheryl was a God-send to us when we took in two foster children (two and three years old) this past year. Miss Cheryl was one of the few constants for our beautiful foster children during a time of a lot of uncertainty and instability in their lives. She also became a great support and friend to us as their foster parents. Miss Cheryl works hard to create a warm and welcoming daycare where every child is valued and loved. She loves all of the children in her care so well, and they love her! My first born went to two Goddard Schools, in #NorthBrunswickGoddardSchool and #BranchburgGoddardSchool. As I was expecting my second born, I obviously turned to one as well which is near my work. Also a current co-worker has one of there children currently enrolled and soon to be expecting her second one soon. So with no question asked, my husband and I (with another co-woker) went to take a tour of this facility. We were looking for January/February (2018) enrollment but was told there was a waiting list and the next availability would be in March 2018. I asked if there is anything we could do to ensure our spot for March, and was told by the owner Laura that taking a tour would put our name on the wait list automatically, nothing else needed. I went above and beyond with my work to get a delay start of March so my New Born could go to the Goddard school as preferred. I recently called at the end of November to ensure my son's guaranteed spot for March was still available. First, I spoke with the director, who was very standoffish on the phone. She informed me there wasn't any spots available until April 2018 now. I was SHOCKED! I had asked for the director, Laura who at that time was not available. Few days later, I had called back to speak with her and left her a msg. She left me a voice mail, stating "my director had informed you about everything already, if you are still unsure give me a call back." She's lucky that I did not hear that voicemail until I had called her back already, otherwise she would have gotten a piece of my mind. When I called back, Laura informs me that the next availability is early Spring, once I asked what that means she says Early May!!! I was very disappointed. Still keeping my composure, I had asked how is that possible and when was anyone going to inform me about this change..? I had sacrificed my maternity leave to ensure my son had a spot in March. She stated during the time of the tour that they would contact us when a spot was available a deposit was not needed because the tour was sufficient. The story changed when I inquired further. She explained that we do not call to let you know, if you want to ensure your spot, you need to put in a deposit." I was stunned! I told her that this is new and this information was not told. I continued on by saying that I had specifically asked her about a deposit and had brought my checkbook as well to make one. Her response was, "I apologize if you did not understand me, but this is how we have been doing it for past 23 years, this is nothing new." (talk about customer service people!) Biting my tongue and keeping my chin in mind, I had asked her if she could email me the enrollment paperwork since I wanted to have a guaranteed spot for next availability, I would try to drop it off or drop it in the mail with check etc. Now, 24 hours later, the next day, I have NOTHING! Not a single paperwork in my email inbox. Later that day, I had confirmed with both my husband and my co-woker who went with us to confirm if I was having a Pregnancy Brain and totally misunderstand her during the tour of having a spot available in March and tour is sufficient enough OR she did NOT mention any deposit? Both confirmed my understanding. So clearly Laura, you had provided me with wrong info and two other people confirms it. To make this even more interesting, my co-worker whom I recommended this place to, took a tour, and during the tour, she was asked to make a deposit. Now, her New Born has a guaranteed spot for March. As you can imagine, this is why I feel we are being ignored and purposely not provided a spot, interestingly enough, both of my co-workers are White. During the tour, I had noticed very little to hardly any minorities in the entire school. In the current New Born Classroom, there were zero minorities! And they are clearly going above and beyond to not only be very unprofessional, and providing me with wrong information to me just to ensure that my mixed African -American/ Asian child would not get into this facility. My daughter thrived here at first and I loved it. It started when she came home with diaper rashes so bad I could not touch her to clean her or put her in her bath water on separate occasions. They were told several times she was super sensitive down there and it only takes a second to look. Then it was the call to the Division of Child and Family Services because she had a stain on her shirt and a leaf or two in her hair. Because I missed the memo that playing outside with your child in the morning instead of shoving a screen in their face was wrong. Then it was the push to get her evaluated for every little problem. She is an only child, so she was a little late to talking but once she started, she has not stopped LOL. But there was no need for a speech evaluation and I told them that but I did it anyway because I want to do whatever will help my child grow and thrive. They nearly laughed at the end of the evaluation because it was pretty much a waste of their time, but whatever. Then it was them saying they will help with potty training and telling me every day she wasn't asking or going potty at all. And that her behavior was "out of control" and not listening to them even though on two separate occasions she came home with bite marks from another student. My daughter can be a handful, there is no denying that. Then it was them "removing" her after giving me three weeks to change a 3 year old behavior. She is not somewhere else and OH MY GOD she is miraculously using the potty, listening to the teachers, playing with the other children. It was not my child that needs to be evaluated in this situation, maybe it's their teachers or methods.

The owner is passionate about child development and the curriculum fosters a happy day of learning while maintaining a habitual routine that helps all students. The facility is state of the art and very clean, I don't want to jinx myself but my son has never been sick in the twelve months he has attended. The teachers and administrative staff are on the ball with keeping the center safe and clean. My husband and I toured MANY daycares in the area and decided to enroll in the Easton Ave KinderCare after meeting Ms. Amanda and visiting her classroom. As a first time mom, she made going back to work much easier for me and I love being able to check the app throughout my work day to see pictures, videos, food, diaper and nap updates. I've also been amazed at how much my son has learned at such a young age. Recently my son has transitioned to the toddler classroom with Ms. Sue (and Ms. Marcie in the afternoons) and he is absolutely thriving! He's on to colors and counting now. He also roars when he sees dinosaurs. A few weeks ago, the center called to let us know about a mysterious bump on his head, and that they're concerned and will keep an eye on it. It turned out to be just a small mosquito bite he got from the night before (that I already knew about), but it showed that they do pay attention to the little things. They also have a convenient lunch arrangement where my son can buy lunch each day. When you go for a tour, ask "Mimi" and "Mo" (the owners) about the impressive safety and security features. The communication between the school and myself has been excellent. When I pick up my son, Mimi and Mo take the time to give me a quick review of the day and share progress with me, along with the weekly progress notes, and they are available for meetings as needed. Even more important than all of that, my son loves being there. Each day we drop him off and pick him up happy and healthy. He loves his teachers and has had a special relationship with each of them at each stage. They have been patient and kind through my son's "terrible twos" and have been willing to work with us and try whatever they could to promote his growth and development.
