Cradles To Crayons Learning Center

Cradles To Crayons Learning Center

Both of our children attended Cradles for years and we couldn't be more pleased!…read more We moved to Westfield from Brooklyn when our son was almost two and I was pregnant with our daughter. We both worked in the city and Cradles was the only place with hours that worked for us- so we kind of chose them by default. But I am SO GLAD WE DID! It seems like yesterday that I was very emotional leaving my tiny eight week old daughter at daycare. She's just graduated from kindergarten- she was at Cradles all the way through. Today she is confident, happy, loving, a fantastic reader and she has a real love of learning and zest for life. All of this was nurtured and encouraged at Cradles. Our son was the same, completely happy and ready for 1st grade after his time at Cradles. Cradles truly feels like family- there is very low teacher turn over. There are animals in the rooms- frogs, hamsters, ginea pigs and for years the world's sweetest bunny, Bun-Bun. The thing that always made me know my kids were in the right place was that there were many, many long days when I would drop the kids off at 7:30 am and pick them up at 6:30 pm feeling very guilty- and then they would NOT WANT TO LEAVE. Incredible. They had put in an 11 hour day and wanted to stay longer. My only regret is that the fabulous new location will open this fall and my kids will be too old to enjoy it! :)

One of the things I really appreciated was the camera access to my daughter's classroom--it gave me peace of mind being able to check in throughout the day. Not only was the quality of care excellent, but Cradles to Crayons was also one of the most affordable options we found in Union County. That balance of affordability and trustworthy care is hard to come by, and I highly recommend this daycare to any parent looking for a safe and nurturing environment for their child.

I found this on the website on approved daycare centers registered with the state that have active…read moreand current licenses. I called to check them out over the phone and get a feel for them. I was instantly pleased when they answered with a very happy and energetic voice! The owners name is Nancy and she is an absolute doll! She asked me when I'd like to go in and look at the center to see what they do and how they interact w the kids. When I got there I found that this day care is in a house! How awesome! The kids won't feel as if they are in "school" exactly because it was something that my son was definitely not ready for. It still has that family feel to it. The parking lot is in the back on the center. It had a yard for the kids to play in with plenty of toys. I went inside and I soon as I walked in I can feel the energy. The not and laughter of the kids was calming to me. Nobody was crying out sad. Nancy has two assistants that help her throughout the day. Well Nancy and I sat down and she gave me all the information about the center. The prices were the most reasonable than any other reputable place on the area with the same atmosphere. I decided to send my son here. He ended up going for about 3 years until he started kindergarten. My son did not want to stop going!! I have made lifetime friends here. Nancy and I are still friends. One of her teachers became one of my best friends. And my son made a great friend. His friends mom is also a good friend that I made there. We still visit from time to time and send cards and pictures every year. This center will quickly make you feel like family. My son stopped going the years ago and he still wants to go visit all the time. I never had any problems here. This place is top notch as good is it gets!!!

If you are looking for a place to send your child to daycare, look no further. This is easily the…read morebest daycare my child has ever been. The Wonder Years checks all the boxes you could want or need. Their staff are more dedicated and love their jobs and it shows. The teachers here are like a family. I trust them because I know they genuinely care about each child and show love to them while developing and teaching at the same time. The facility itself is super clean, and I have been to two daycares/schools in Westfield, and this is by far the cleanest and most sanitary of them all. The children are all wonderful, it's a safe environment, and they even have a great outdoor playground for children of all ages. They also make the environment a positive atmosphere that I honestly believe will allow my child to be excited to be in school and learn. My daughter has also come home with so many fun projects to show us. I truly could not think of anything The Wonder Years does not offer in the growth and development of my child. I am so thankful and happy that we found the Wonder Years.

He has been in two different rooms so far and both of his main teachers have been/are wonderful. We do early drop off in the morning and everyone who is with him in the morning is very sweet. The director is kind, caring, and very knowledgeable. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure the kids and parents are happy. I have noticed so many positive changes in my son's development since he started attending. They encourage/follow what you do at home which makes it easier for the kids. The facility is clean and spacious. As a mom, there is nothing better than knowing your kid is happy every day, even though you can't be with them.

I have been fortunate enough to have had my daughter at LightBridge - Westfield for more than 3 1/2…read moreyears. Starting out at LB at age four months was a difficult transition for me as a new mom. But the LB staff (both the classroom teachers and the administration) have been nothing but warm, receptive, and helpful since Day 1. I'm not going to say that everything has been perfect all of the time (that would be silly and you'd never believe me). However, when trouble has come up, LB has always been there to help. Sue, the owner, in particular, has always been willing to listen and help craft a solution. Sue is definitely a "hands-on" owner - stepping in when needed. During what has been an extraordinary last 10 months, LB has been open and honest about what is going on both from a healthcare perspective (not easy given that guidance is coming from federal, state, and local officials) as well as what is going on within the building. I can honestly say I feel like LB is doing absolutely everything they can to keep our kids happy, healthy, and safe. I could not be happier with where my daughter is or with the LB staff and administration.

Honestly, we would…read morehave done it sooner if it weren't for their 45-day policy, and we regret not pushing to pull him out ASAP. The number of issues we had in such a short time was horrendous. My son was in the mobile infant room. First, at the open house, there was no communication about the children's daily schedule, and the overall presentation was unprofessional. The teachers read off a paper and gave us no instructions on drop-off/pick-up routines. Almost daily, my son's lunch dishes were scattered throughout his bags, lost, or we took home another child's materials. We packed lunch and snacks daily. However, my son was continuously fed snacks from the school without my permission, and when I would bring it up I was assured they were not. But at pick up, they would tell me he enjoyed the school snack today. The staff in the room was unprofessional. They were using the iPad for personal searches, the pictures they sent home were blurry or did not always include our child, and they were not warm and friendly to us. The app was never accurate, and we were rarely updated on the amount of food he was eating. If this was brought up, we were told the app was down. But then magically fixed moments later. The communication between the teachers was awful. Their tone towards us and our son was rude, condescending, and it often felt like they did not like him. Because of these attitudes, we did not report the small issues for fear of retaliation against our son. Unfortunately, these are only the small issues, but towards the end, there were issues of neglect. In my son's last week at Lightbridge, he was sent home twice with a diaper that was clearly not changed in a long time. Each time it was about 4 hours in between. They would change him, give him lunch, put him down for a nap, and wait an hour or so after he woke up to change him again. On his last day, he had such a bad rash that he was struggling to walk. Not a single teacher in the room noticed. It is hard to tell if they don't care or are disorganized. However, changing a baby after a nap is common sense. When we called to complain (for the sake of other children), Olive gave us a run-of-the-mill response with no remorse. We highly recommend that you do not send your child here.
