This is the location for the weekly Wednesday and Saturday meditation classes.

Come try meditation here because it is soOOOoo GREAT! There are currently three classes available weekly held on Wednesday nights, and Saturday and Sunday mornings. The group meditation is open to both beginners and those who have tried meditation before. The center provides meditation cushions and chairs, so you don't have to bring anything. The center is non-profit so there is no cost but they appreciate donations (who doesn't appreciate donations). Each session begins with light stretching exercises, nothing that will make you hot and sweaty, but just something to get you ready for the 50 minute session. A brief introduction on their techniques and helpful tips are given by the coordinator. A variety of methods are given including mantras and visualization, but basically they say do what is comfortable for you ("sit down and do nothing"). The meditation itself is very peaceful. The room is clean and furnishing is simple, and there is absolute silence throughout the session, so distractions are kept at an absolute minimum (you should also make sure your phone is turned off so you don't ruin the mood). The fact that its a group gives the session a bit of stronger vibe than if you were to do it on your own (if that makes sense). Normally, a tape of a guide is played that walks you through how to relax yourself. After a bit, the room is just silent and you meditate as you wish. When you open you eyes, you'll find a monk in front of you (I guess he come in when the lights are off). He'll ask you how your experience was and answer your questions and give you advice if you want. Then, everyone participates in a group Dharma talk so you are able to go home with something to think about. If you are lucky and come on or around a holiday, they will have themed classes where they work the holiday into the Dharma talk and if you are lucky lucky they have snacks and refreshments (on normal days they have just cough drops and free waters, and I know this because I'm there every week). The only thing I can maybe say as a downside is that the location is close to O'Hare and you can once in a while hear the planes. But what can the center do, stop the planes? Thankfully, they give advice on how to power through the noise if air traffic is particularly bad that day. Overall, I like this place. The staff and monks are really friendly and want to help everyone meditate. Sometimes they have retreats which are great too, be on the look out for those.

It's a pokestop!

This was such a gem to find!! I had been wanting to try…read moreYoga for many, many years and with kids, work, and just one thing or another, just never had the time to focus on "ME". I was also not aware that I had a center nearby in Norridge. The Center coaches Master's Myung Doh (Randy) & JoAnn Dickson are FANTASTIC! Since focusing on myself, I've been attending the weekly training schedules both online and in person. I have found this experience to be a truly incredible path and inspiration to challenge my body to the utmost. The exercises, Wow! I never thought that I could stay the course throughout completion. But, with the body, brain, and breathing techniques that I've been taught, I now am able to stay the course throughout completion. I have learned how to recharge my body with deep breathing exercises and different posture exercises. I loved attending the workshops (Omg.. the Finding True Self workshop was AMAZING!) and trying something new every time has been a wonderful experience. I now have increased flexibility, strength and have improved my overall health, posture, and alignment. I now know how to shift my focus from the busy and daily trends that life throws my way to the brain wave vibration exercise. so, if you're thinking about it don't wait any longer. Do this for yourself. I definitely recommend it. So, with that in mind, I definitely and proudly hand over The Body & Brain Yoga-Taichi, Norridge, IL location 5*****. :) Nitza Correa

Yelp has removed this review twice now. I have the receipt from the class I attended. If yelp…read moreremoves this review again, I'll file a lawsuit against the company for removing a legitimate review because the business is pressuring them. They are known fo removing reviews for businesses, in. fact they've already lost lawsuits over the issue. I made an introductory appointment to begin learning Tai Chi, only to then be told in person that they actually do not teach Tai Chi but a Korean martial art similar to tai chi. Then the instructor attempted to sell me on workshops and retreats that I never asked about. I came home and did some research. Body & Brain has been deemed a cult by many that have tried their services. The founder Ilchi Lee's brain education is considered pseudoscience. A simple wiki search will give you all of the details about their past issues. This seemed eerily similar to Scientology with body movement included. This is a scam!

Every meeting with Juan has left a lasting, profound, transformational impact on my life, which I sense on every level of my being. Working with Juan relieved emotional suffering and trauma I have experienced and for which I sought help for a long time. Some of the most powerful effects since working with Juan include significant release and healing of birth trauma and reconnection with my long-buried creative nature. The most amazing experiences I had with Juan, however, involved his abilities to access and transform ancient, unresolved, and unconscious emotional and psychic energy that was creating suffering and controlling my life. This deep cleansing has led to renewed connection with a clearer, stronger, more refined, and more purified experience of my true nature and of Divine reality. If you're feeling stuck in perpetual emotional suffering and want to feel peace, release of suffering, healing, clarity, and empowerment, I would highly recommend Juan. His intuition, healing, and transformative abilities are transcendent, powerful, and everlasting. Working with Juan has been among the most powerful transformative and healing experiences I have ever had. I am grateful for every session I have had with Juan, and feel the impact of my work with him every day.

I was feeling burnt out and needed to find more balance in my life. If you're feeling stuck or stagnant in life and want to feel more peace in your life, I would highly recommend Juan. He was professional and very knowledgeable.
