This is a long overdue review. The Meadows Early Learning Center is a Godsend. We had my daughter there when she was an infant to 3 years old and went to Pre-K. They moved further away from our house a few years back and so when my son was born we went with a new daycare near our house. BIG mistake! The daycare we put my son in had a changed in director from the time we toured and never told us. They were short staff and were hiring teachers without checking backgrounds and qualifications and tons of state violations. When we toured they had great reviews and no state violations but a lot changed in 6 months to say the least. Needless to say we pulled him out and are willing to make the further drive to the meadows for the safety of our son. Freedom/Katie are great owners/directors that truly care. You can tell the teachers truly care and some of the teachers have been here even when my daughter was there. Daycares usually have high turn over rates and the fact that there's a lot of teachers that are still there since opening says a lot. The kids here have circle time, eat healthy meals and snacks. We get live updates daily. When you walk in it doesn't feel like a dull school for kids with a bunch of kids crying like our last daycare. It's very homey with the everyone knowing everyone. Everyone even teachers that aren't my son's teachers will say Hi Fayden! He loves it there so much he doesn't even care to give me a hug good bye or cry for me. We are so thankful they were able to fit my son in and get us the heck out of the other day care. read more

In the infant room, there is very poor communication. Teachers and admins/owners come across as defensive and not willing to help. They do not honor the wishes of parents nor validate their concerns with acknowledging them or answer questions when asked. Our experience has been less than acceptable, There is an overall lack of proactivity and the afternoon staff has no clue what goes on during the day so forget about an informative in person convo when in person. The app is their primary way to communicate and it is very ineffective. I will update review soon. Do not bring your child here if you care about them, we are leaving as soon as possible. read more

My child has attended the Meadows since birth. Freedom and Katie are the most loving kind caring souls. They protect our kids at any cost. The Meadows family is diverse and rich in cultural differences and I am angry that anybody would suggest otherwise. We are biracial family and we have noticed nothing but love and kindness from the center. Freedom and Katie stand for unity and diversity. We love The Meadows! The provided a safe, engaging, loving and diversified environment for my daughter. I feel good each day when I drop my daughter off here. We brought our child here last July, his first PreSchool. We had some great teachers, Mrs. Kris, Mrs. Michelle and our sons Favorite, Mrs. Becky. The Owner Katie, and Director Freedom where both very kind to our family. They took the time to get to know us. They make you feel very welcomed, and treat your child as if they were their own. Lots of play time, with lots of activities. Perfect for our child who needed that outside time time, and well as learning activities. They helped develop his fine motor skills. Our son eat great healthy food everyday, which was perfect for a family on the go, like us. We will always be thankful for you all, our son has grown so much with you. read more

RED FLAG! This review is to provide parents about a true experience, not only affecting myself and family, but affecting many others. The subject of the matter is the unprofessional-ism and lack of ethical business standards taking place on July of 2019 with the upper management. A communication was sent to us via email explaining that our son would no longer be able to attend this daycare on the account of the owner of the building selling the property "underneath" the management of the "Meadows Early Learning Center." Defining "underneath", we are able to assume there was a lack of legal arrangement and/or documents stipulating the "what if" scenario which is, "why legally can the owner sell the property to a buyer where there is no legal justification for that buyer to maintain a place of care (especially a learning facility) for children for an extended period of time, aka as a contract? After contemplating and coming to terms I cannot change the past, I reached out to Katie McDonald (owner) to respectfully talk to her about the belief of us being compensated with 1) our 1 free vacation week ($280, which is provided 1 year after being with them) and 2) our non-refundable deposit, since the above mentioned was out of our control. (Please keep in mind both my wife and I work FT and I had an understanding Katie and the management team have gone through a lot.) In Katie's response to #1, she instantly went into defensive mode, commanding us to use our vacation week the FOLLOWING week! I became puzzled at the fact, not only are we losing our spot in daycare, but now we are being told when to use OUR vacation time. I mentioned to Katie I did not believe this was fair. She then proceeded she would talk to her tax adviser and let us know. In response to #2, Katie quickly determined this is a non-refundable deposit and that our son has more than used up his fair share, despite the fact we will have to put another non-refundable deposit down in 2 WEEKS! Thinking about this from a customer mind-set, why, if client/family-focused, would a company not want to refund this deposit since it is out of the customers'control? I concurred with Katie she can keep the deposit and then she immediately stated most families have been very supportive of "this" transition and unfortunately she could not say the same about us, then disconnected after telling me to have a good day. Please keep in mind no apology was said to me over the phone The following day, Katie told my wife, when she was picking our soon up, she didn't feel safe with me coming to the daycare and that our son would need to be out by Friday, which is in 2 DAYS! The stress and anxiety of how a working family is going to find a daycare that will enroll our son as soon as 2 business days was at a max. In conclusion, I want to assure most of the teachers we have worked with have been great. The issue is the management style, which operates similar to a dictatorship. Please understand it is not the $ we are after, it is the principle and a responsibility I feel is necessary to let other potential and current families aware of. *Please note there are not many negative remarks under "review", due to a high possibility of virtual bullying that comes from this organization and those that follow it. DON'T DO IT, DON'T DO IT! Completely honest review here, regardless of how frustrated I am with the lack of professionalism this company holds. Starting on a positive... Bright colors and fun learning environment, they use Bright wheel which is a great way to stay in touch throughout the day. Here's truth 1. Highest turnover rate I have EVER seen. In 1 year I met 6 different teachers! Teachers only last a few months. 2. Smells like smoke in several class rooms, especially in the winter because the teachers wear their smoky jackets in after smoking in the parking lot and let them stink up the rooms. 3. The rabbits are adorable, BUT I picked up my son early (during nap, which is highly frowned upon) and there was legit rabbit fecal next to his mat. 3. They are closed for holiday WEEKS yes like the entire week, and "training days" (all of which you STILL pay), more than any other day care around. 4. The serving size that they feed your child during school is so minimal. 5. It is not a stop in and pick up your kid whenever, they don't want you to pick up between 12-3. At first I understood of course because of nap... BUT my child had DR appointments and I had to legit pick him up an hour prior to 12 and drop off after 3, does not work with a work schedule. Seriously, the position they put us in caused me to call every day care in the area for new child care when they decided to tell us the owner of the building sold the building out from under them and they were doing a lottery system to see who could go to their new building (which was 1/2 the size) in TWO weeks! My son of course did not make the lottery (a blessing), which I later learned was not a lottery at all and was actually picked by management and teachers. As a parent this school breaks my heart, the way they put their kid's safety and health on the back burner and focus on how much money they can bring in. I honestly feel horrible for bringing my child here in the first place. If it wasn't for a few teachers (who have LEFT recently) I would have pulled him out long ago. Please, go somewhere else that has a better interest in your family's needs and child development and health. As a long time educator in the Early Childhood Education field (10 years now) and spending many years becoming the kind of teacher I want to be, this center is everything I want in a center. My core beliefs about early childhood education are reflected here. The philosophy of The Meadows ELC focuses on social/emotional development, and strengthening a child's connection to nature. Curriculum is written by the teachers which means it is created based on THE CHILDREN and what they are interested in. As a staff member, I feel supported by Katie and Freedom to let my knowledge and creativity shine through, and make my classroom my own. When you feel proud of what you do, it shows. When you feel trusted and supported, it shows. I can work using my strengths and my teaching style which makes me a better teacher, and not be tied down to a corporate curriculum that limits accomodating each individual child. The app that we use creates immediate commuication with the parents, and saves me valuable time. I'm not spending my time writing on daily sheets, I just quickly tap on the tablet, type it in or take the pic, and done! Parents appreciate having that instant update and easy communication with us during their day. My coworkers and myself are all very passionate about what we do! Our son has been attending for 6 months and we absolutely love the Meadows Early Learning Center!!! The staff here are amazing, friendly, approachable and easy to talk to! The center is very clean and well maintained. The secured entry and biometric check in/out system give me peace of mind. I was impressed with the included healthy snacks/meals and the wide variety of different foods. They have ample outdoor time, lessons, and I love all of the art projects! The extended hours offer flexibility since jobs can be unpredictable when it comes to leaving late at times. The Brightwheel app is pure genius! It is so nice to get updates throughout the day along with photos. It is also nice that the directors and teachers can communicate with me about upcoming events, needing extra supplies, or if he is not acting himself. The owner, Katie, really tapped into what parents want and need when opening Meadows ELC, she completely gets it!! My husband and I are in daycare heaven at The Meadows. After a bad nanny experience where one of my children was injured, seeing a teacher behave aggressively towards a toddler at one of the popular chain daycares - this place is such a breath of fresh air. We were nervous to consider the school (for our infant and toddler) because it is so brand new, but after touring and meeting the owner, we were sold. Where to begin: The teachers - they are all patient and wonderful. They provide pictures of your kids throughout the day and also send meaningful updates, instead of some generic update at the end of the day. One day, our toddler didn't seem herself, and the teacher sent a note letting us know. They spend so much time outside with the kids, and build their curriculum around what the kids are interested - not some nationwide curriculum dictated by a corporate HQ (the Meadows is locally owned/operated). The food - food is included in the tuition and you're not paying for garbage. The food provided is healthy and I'm amazed at some of the stuff my toddler is eating! Multiple servings of cauliflower, zucchini bread, chickpea salad, etc. They can also accommodate dietary restrictions! Other thoughts - my toddler loves the place and doesn't want to leave half the time! The director, Freedom, is fantastic. She often lends me a hand out to the car when I've got my hands full with an infant, school bags, and a toddler on the verge of a meltdown b/c she doesn't want to wear a diaper :-) And as an added bonus, the tuition rates are lower than most other places we toured in the area! I have toured this learning mecca a few times. One of which was a unexpected pop up visit. Not only do I know without doubt my daughter will do well academically, but she will be in a place where her needs emotionally will be met. Every single team member from the owner to the infant room never once failed to genuinly stop and give her and I both kind and appreciative attention. This is not a school I would recommend to anyone. They do not inform you when your child gets hurt and comes home bleeding. When you question the staff (including the owner and direct) about what happened they deny everything. The staff they hire are young and yell at the children. Even the staff do not have good things to say about this school and have given recommendations to other schools. read more

I can't say enough about this learning center. It has been a life saver for us. We needed daycare due to a family emergency and we have stayed there ever since. The teachers here are awesome, as are Freedom the director, and Katie the owner. We are always treated like family when we walk in the door. For my daughter's first day care experience I couldn't ask for anything better! read more
