At 2 months of age, we realized he was not able to turn his head to the left. And, while we immediately addressed the physical aspect of his condition, we did not realize the neurological piece to missing 6-8 months of development while we worked on strengthening his neck and back. I mention this background because since enrolling in Brain Highways, we now have the knowledge & tools our son needed to make those connections in his brain that he missed in his early months and following years. Looking back over the past several years of schooling, he has struggled in reading comprehension and most importantly, math. In just the past 16 weeks since we started our classes at Brain Highways, we have seen marked improvement from both of our boys, not only in their academics but in other areas, too, such as sports, general coordination and their ability to communicate their thoughts and feelings rather than becoming frustrated and shutting down. It has also been fascinating for us to learn more about the brain, how it makes connections and wraps myelin as we learn new skills. Our oldest son plays on a competitive soccer team and has come away with a new understanding of working on the edges of one's abilities or, as Brain Highways puts it, ""mindful-myelin" practice". For the past four months, I have been trying to get my money back for the first test. I kept getting the run around from Prometric and when I called them, I was put on the phone with someone that did not know what to do. The last time I called them, I was told that the refund was approved. I was then informed in an email that I needed a doctor's note showing the emergency. Well, good luck getting that from a hospital in the amount of time that Prometric gives. I am tired of dealing with it and Prometric can keep my money for absolutely nothing. I hope they choke on it.

They also have craft beer, a fun atmosphere, and even a dance floor, which adds to the overall experience. It's a great spot that combines good food with a meaningful mission.

Shout out to Angie and the Tutor Doctor gang…read more In the fall as Covid and online learning drug on, we were pulling out our hair trying to get middle schooler and elementary schooler to engage in classes and complete assignments. Both kiddos who typically do well in school were struggling. When we engaged Tutor Doctor, they answered all our questions and matched us with an amazing tutor, Angie. Angie comes to our house. She helps our middle-schooler with 7th grade pre-algebra, Spanish, and paragraph structure and CERs for language arts. She then assists our 3rd grader with spelling, handwriting, and division. When she the kids transitioned back to in-person school she was able to pivot teaching styles. It's been so easy and incredible to have one tutor that is able to help our two kids at our house.
