It is all about occupancy rates and it appears they take anyone - regardless of their care needs. Management turns over frequently which creates a poorly run, disorganized, understaffed facility. If you're considering this facility, save your money. Hire a private aid and keep your loved one at home.

We love this facility. It is an assisted living in a "home" setting with a total of 8 residence. It was a very clean family atmosphere. If this is how a deceased patient's belongings are treated, it makes me wonder how the patients themselves are being treated.

I was there around lunch time. The food their chef prepared smelled very appetizing to me. The residents were comfortable and happy. I am clear this is a great option for seniors. Both of my parents were assisted care residents for the last chapter of their lives. Despite the reluctance to leave their home, each enjoyed better health and were happier than being in their home. Had they been at VIE Village, I am sure the benefits would have been even greater.

CAUTION. Brightview in Great Falls, VA took advantage of my elderly mother. They encouraged her…read morecome in, treated her to lunch, and got her to sign up all in a couple of hours. They took her credit card number which she thought was like a "hold" on a hotel room that could be cancelled. She thought she would have time to think about the decision. She tried to contact the person she spoke with there a couple of days later and was told that person was on vacation until the following week. She waited until the following week and got the run around and was never able to talk to that person again because she was always "busy." A call to the bank a couple of weeks later and we discovered that they had in fact charged her credit card $3,500 deposit the day she had visited Brightview. Several attempts to request that the charge be reversed have been denied by them. These people are very good at selling to the elderly and taking advantage of people who are hard of hearing and under stress. They make the desperate senior citizen feel like they are trying to help them, when, in fact, it is all an act to get their money. I hope this post keeps someone else from having the same experience.
