I attended a wedding reception here last year, and stayed over for the night at the hotel. It is situated just outside Crickhowell with stunning views over the black mountains.
The hotel has an indoor heated swimming pool as well as sauna, jacuzzi, and steam-pool. It has a number of individually sized bedrooms, my mum and sister stayed in the older part of the hotel and had a huge traditional style bedroom, whilst mine was more modern (and unfortunately smaller).
Whilst it was a lovely place to attend a wedding, I'm not sure if I would have wished to have spent a night there if I was not part of the wedding party, as the noise from the disco did tend to spread throughout the hotel. It may be worth checking before you book if any weddings are scheduled during your planned visit.
The food at both the reception and breakfast the next day was excellent and the hotel is very proud of the fact that 80% of their meat and poultry is reared on a family farm just 7 miles away. Whenever possible organic produce is used in the meals, which are simple and unfussy, but cooked well.
The manor is a lovely hotel and well worth a visit! read more
