Called ahead today, per normal, but apparently was not added. When I showed up, the person who greeted me added me to the bottom of the list even though I told her yes, I had checked in. I went today to get a haircut and waited a normal 20 minutes, no big deal. It's Saturday haircut day. I get it. as I co tinted to wait, things changed computers went down. They huddled around for some time, and then said computers were down. They mentioned they wouldn't be able to take a credit card. So I asked if I could pay with a check, and they said that would be ok. Then a few minutes later they came back and said they couldn't do a check. store hours are 10-5. went in at 11 with my son to Sprague location. The doors were locked. A customer had just left and employees were sweeping. One finally came to the door to tell me they were slow so they were closing. How do you know if you are slow in one hour??? I asked if she could cut his hair before they closed. I w pulled avoid this place. Some businesses have Abandoned customer service during the pandemic, this is is one of them. I came and the was a 35 min wait. I was like, ok no big deal, I'll watch something on my iPhone. Jordan a worker came over and said she needed to me turn my phone down so it doesn't bother her. What?! Some places have decided they are customer, you suck and just need to have money over. As always, the haircut was average, nothing special. Enough is enough. I've been coming here for about a year now. It's been hit or miss. But lately, more miss than hit. Today was enough, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Your experience here will depend on two things: 1) Who you get as your barber, and 2) how busy they are. I get the 'Signature Service' which consists of a haircut, beard trim, wash, razor neck shave. Most of the time, they "forget" the neck shave, and if I remind them, they get upset and rush though it, as if I'm causing them to do something they don't want to do. If they are not busy, and by not busy, I mean no one waiting behind you, then I feel like I'm getting my moneys worth, but again, depends on the barber. Not naming names here, but even if they are not rushed, the haircut is uneven, beard lopsided, and just...nah. However, sometimes you'll get one of them who actually knows what she is doing and she does a great job! Listens, and goes above and beyond... if they are not busy. So their haircuts are mediocre at best. Never have I ever walked out thinking that I got my money's worth with an awesome haircut. And don't even get me started on the product amounts they put in your hair! Might as well be non-existent. Todays experience: I called in at 9:30am, for the call ahead waiting. They open at 9. She said that they are busy, about 45 to an hour wait. She put me on the list. I arrived about 30 minutes later and checked in. They were indeed busy. When I checked in, the gal at the desk told me that its looking like 45 MORE minutes, that there are a few "head shaves" in front of me. Great. I took a seat and dinked around on my phone. One person, about 30 minutes later discovered that he wasn't on the list anymore, and they bumped him to the front of the line. About 45 minutes later, one of the gals came around asking for the names of those on the waiting list. I gave her mine and she told me that it would be about 30 MORE minutes! I called in at 9:30, its now 11:15 or so, and I have to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes for a botched hair cut?! NOPE! I don't think so, I got things to do today. I took my name off the list and walked out. Even if they are not busy, I wont be going back. I'm going to need a new place to get my hair cut. Sorry Man Shop, but you guys really need to fix yourselves. read more

I find the Staff to be "Excellent and Attentive". They have always given me great haircuts and face shaves. There are only a few that perform Beard trims and Shaves in the greater Spokane area and they are Top Notch. If you want it real this is your place. If you want a warm and fuzzie go else where. These ppl. are in a hurry. Sometimes you can *really* tell they had quite a night on the town, kinda scary mid-morning when they're a little shaky around your beard. The ladies there are more mature, friendlier, and professional. Concealed weapons are a great way to protect your self. The sign on the door said they supported the 2nd amendment. That is all I needed to know I would like the place. They cut my hair and my 5 year old sons hair. They did a fantastic job. My son usually has anxiety about getting his hair cut but he did not have any here. They have a pool table and free arcade machine and TVs. There was not a wait which was disappointing because I wanted to play the old arcade games. read more

Tried The Man Shop for the first time. I was growing tired of the not-so-great national chain Clips place I had been going to, but I never felt like I was the target customer for The Man Shop. OK, I mean, I am a man in that I have an X and Y chromosome, but not a Man, MAN that watches ESPN, drinks beer, and plays pool. I'm more like a grown up Boy Scout--at least an old school Boy Scout before the BSA got confused about the definition of boy. Anyhow, I manned-up (haha) and dropped by. First, I couldn't have been more pleased to see the large sign on the front door stating how TMS proudly supports the 2nd Amendment and welcomes customers who are lawfully carrying concealed. Second, the atmosphere was easy going as was the stylist who signed me in. The service was great, the conversation easy and not forced, and who doesn't love a hot towel neck shave. Third, the post-cut shampoo felt great and allowed me to leave without feeling like I had an itchy rogue clipping on my face and neck. The price is higher than I was paying, but I got so much more and thus a better value. This man will definitely be returning. read more
