I have used TMoF a number of times over the past couple of years. In the past I've used other cleaning services that performed a terrific service on the first visit only to go through the motions with mediocrity on subsequent visits. NOT HAPPENING WITH THE MAIDS OF FREDERICK. Each time they have visited the thoroughness of the cleaning has been exceptional. My mother was a fastidious house keeper. I was a previous monthly contract customer and then tried another company. Suffice to say that I ended up coming back to The Maids. They do a thorough deep clean each time, including dishes, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning the microwave - everything! And when I get home, there are lines in my carpet (which is a must for me! lol). Very disappointed! I was given a quote of $160 to $420 for a "deep cleaning." Within 30 minutes of when they were supposed to be finished I got a call from the company saying that it would take them another two hours and would cost over $700! I told them to pack up and head out when they got to the maximum "estimate." Only 3 of the 5 bathrooms had been cleaned, they partially cleaned the kitchen, only 3 of the 5 bedrooms were cleaned, no floors were washed or vacuumed, and the basement was not cleaned. I had to spend another 2 hours "deep cleaning" my own house. When I called the manager to request an adjustment he said "sorry but the girls put in the work." Perhaps this is the business model - quote a lower amount and then up the price in order to finish the promised work! Very unfortunate. read more

The Maids never sent me an email stating that the price maybe double then the price I agreed to. They told me on the phone that the crew would arrive around 8-8:30am. The price I agreed to was $195. They took my debit number over the phone. Later that day I received 2 text message saying they would arrive anywhere between 7:30-9. Not what I was told. They got here at 8:15. I was also told that they would call me if the crew needed more time and what the price would be. I did get a call saying they needed more time and the new price was $480. I said I wasn't willing to pay that much. I was outside at the time and when I went in the crew was gone. Later I saw my account had been charged $390. I called and said that wasn't the price I agreed to. They told me they sent me an email stating that they would charge me for 2 hours and that was agreed to. I looked in all my trash, spam and junk files. No email. They did send me a copy of the invoice with the $390 price. They had misspelled my legal name. I blew a gasket. The Maids did a great job in deep cleaning my home after I had work done on the inside of the house. I would like to continue to use them monthly but I believe it is a little pricey on a monthly basis to complete the entire home. There were minimal areas of dusting that were missed but overall a great job. My teams code is 213-03. read more

OMG look at her house! I love their service and especially the way they can clean carpets and rugs. The crew must have secret ingredients as I had little hope on several occasions to rescue my carpets and rugs after pets and renters. The Maids of Frederick deserves ZERO stars but I can't do that on yelp so have to give one star. We've been a customer for over 10 years so take it from us when we say their cleaning service and customer service from the office staff have dramatically declined in the recent years. Maid service companies are a dime a dozen. You're better off going to someone else. Do not use The Maids of Frederick! They have taken adventage of the fact you've stayed with them for over 10 years by trying to raise our rates 2 years in a row. We've only requested about 4 schedule changes so far and they're always reluctant and don't accommodate claiming no teams are our in our neighborhood that day. They told us "please let us know how we're doing" and when you complain because the maids did a horrible job, they're rude and don't call you back. The office staff gives you lip service and they don't take care of their customers. read more

Their cleaning was adequate, but they seemed plagued by a lack of common sense. We kept going back and forth regarding treatment of dirty dishes: one month, they overloaded (2-3 dishes directly on top of each other, I wasn't just being picky) the dishwasher so we complained, the next month they filled the sink with dirty dishes. The manager didn't understand why I thought either was obnoxious (because it took more time to fix than to do in the first place). We eventually agreed on a solution (dishes NEXT to the sink if there's no room in the dishwasher), but they only followed it one month. What finally caused us to cancel our service is that they broke a picture frame, but didn't tell us until I called the next day. The Maids took it back to the office at the end of the day to replace the glass, and the manager was going to call us the next day to let us know. We got home at night and there was no note (even on the paper they leave every week with a box to be checked if something was broken). We spent a lot of time looking for it, and when I called the next day - half an hour after they opened - I was only told that the manager was planning on calling me that morning and no note was left (or box checked on a form they take with them to every cleaning) because the team leader didn't speak English. No apology, no acknowledgment of my frustration, just a recitation of the procedure they planned to follow. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a cleaning service to lower your frustration level, and The Maids didn't deliver. read more

I travel a lot for my job and have left my home in a state of where there was a lot of stuff all over the place and quite a bit of dust. The Maids sorted everything out amazingly well. Would give 0 stars if I could. The Maids of Frederick trick you into a reasonable price in the beginning and then raise the rate multiple times. They end up being way more expensive than any other maid service around. We had been a loyal customer for over many many years but then the last 2 years of that they raised our rate 4 times, the final rate ended up being more expensive than a new customer. AND the maid service is mediocre at best! Don't use them, too many competitors out there to put up with these crooks. read more

Unfortunately The Maids of Frederick have lost my business. I have had them come clean every 4 weeks for the last three months. The price is not consistent unless you set up a scheduled clean, meaning I couldn't call to set up that 4th week clean in advance, but I needed to have that clean scheduled before the previous clean date! Even though all my calls in to them were well in advance. This last clean, they had a supervisor call me, and asked if it would be ok if they stayed a little longer to finish the clean.... why would I say no to that? Obviously I needed them to finish or else I wouldn't have had them come clean. However, that supervisor never informed me of the additional cost! This company will call you many times and ask you to give them a 5 out 5 rating on many websites, and for that will give you a reward. My 2nd to last cleaning, the woman on the phone asked if I was happy with my clean, I responded, "for the most part, but the ONE area I ask them to pay special attention to, did not get cleaned (it was a fan that needed dusting!)" she then continued to say, "well if you could go online and give us a 5 out 5 review you will get money off towards your next clean", I then said to her, "Why would I do that, if I wasn't happy with the clean?", she simply responded with "yes I understand, thank you, have a nice day". There are plenty of other cleaning companies to use, and I will find a replacement, but this one does not care about the customer, just their reviews. read more

The Maids have been cleaning my home for a few years now and in all of these years, there was only one occasion where I felt that the floors could have been cleaned better. Overall, I'm VERY pleased with the one hour, one-time clean I requested, focused on the tub/showers of an investment condo that was trashed by filthy tenants. I'm pleased with the communication, quality of service, timeliness of response, and the amount of work finished in one hour! Still, there were a couple of glitches. // This firm was my second call. The first company said they were booked out for two weeks w/o even inquiring what I needed, or when. "Nick" answered the phone for The Maids and walked me through everything because I live in Virginia and so was not going to be present for the work. He was able to make an appointment right away. The team (#213-03) showed up on time, my contractors let them in, they sent me photos of their finished work, and they sent follow-up e-mails to see whether I had any questions. Nick took my credit card number but trusted me to send them a check (my preferred payment method). It went very smoothly. It was over a week later before I could check their work in person. I had asked them to clean four windows, a large mirror and a sliding glass door if they had time after scrubbing and they had cleaned all of the glass surfaces. Fantastic! However, I had asked that they clean the window tracks and those still were dirty and untouched. This is something I feel was a communication issue that would not have happened had I been able to be there to supervise, but I did specifically request this. Also, all four windows were unlocked. I can't say for certain that The Maids left them that way, as contractors are in the unit every day, but if I had to bet I think that the windows simply were cleaned and closed, because the locks are quite tricky. The scrubbing was the main job, though, and the two bath units were really filthy, so it was wonderful to see them gleam again. read more
