I have been going here ever since I moved a couple years ago. All of the workers there are kind, make you feel comfortable, and do amazing jobs. I've had 10+ piercings done here and each time have had a great experience, they've healed perfectly when I follow their instructions. On top of their good vibes and great service they have a super cute collection of gothic accessories you can buy. They're the only place I recommend when going for piercings. Patty is amazing, my only struggle is within my own canvas. At almost 40 I'm limiting myself to what I'll get but my inner rebel is covered in all the things. If you are curious, want, are considering or have to have a piercing then get yo self to patty ASAP and do a thing She will do minors, have them bring a valid student ID, permit or drivers license and you need to bring their birth certificate and you need to bring a valid id My daughter and I came in so we could share in the experience, looked up on the website and were prepared and it was super easy and no fuss at all. read more

Edit to Owner's response. I recommend that you take the time to review your security camera footage between 1:40-2:00 PM on Friday, Nov 18th. You will find your employees have not been truthful about what took place. It may also serve as a great training opportunity for customer service and sensitivity to potential ADA situations or certain medical conditions that require immediate access to a restroom. You may want to familiarize yourselves with Ally's law. You ARE considered a retail store and should have a restroom available to customers that fall under this category, otherwise you may find yourselves in violation and incur costly litigation expenses. Having a 2nd floor employee only restroom does not meet ADA regulations... I had an appointment at a specific time and arrived 20 minutes early. I asked if I could use the restroom before getting started. The girl at the front desk said "no" and I thought she must have been kidding. I asked her if she was serious and she said "yes, we don't allow the public to use our restrooms'. I asked her where she used the restroom and she said upstairs and pointed up. She advised me the nearest bathroom was a block away at the courthouse. I said ok and headed out to the courthouse bc I had no other option. I knew I wouldn't make it that far so I stopped in another shop two doors down and explained I was getting my ears pierced at The Magic Needle but wasn't allowed to use their restroom and asked if may use theirs. She happily showed me the way. When I finished, I walked back to The Magic Needle and opened the door. The same 3 girls were all standing at the counter talking and a man was sitting on the sofa. I told the girls I was cancelling my appointment and the man spoke up and asked what caused me to cancel the appointment. I told him bc I wasn't allowed to use the restroom. He asked me "why I thought I was entitled to use their restroom and they don't have to let me use it" He was very rude and disrespectful. I replied 'because I am a customer". I am not someone that walked in off the street, I am a customer. To which he replied" Bxxxx!, you come in here like you're something! GET THE FXXXX OUT OF MY STORE!! He was yelling and literally raging with anger. He continued yelling the same sentence and was within two inches of me. He was very unstable and raging with anger over I still don't know what. I guess bc I cancelled the appointment? By this time, the door was open and I was leaving while he was bullying me and yelling cuss words at me. People on the street could hear him and looked onward in disbelief. I was just as shocked as the onlookers and still am that anyone in a business of any kind can treat people this way and it be ok. There was nothing about the treatment I received that was ok. The three girls looked on with no response or emotion as if this was normal and they have seen this behavior before. I would discourage anyone from going to this establishment as your are not safe with a person that is a ticking time bomb. I did notify the police to make an official report as he was very offensive and threatening to me. Please heed my warning. This is not normal behavior over something as simple as a cancelled appointment or a request to use the restroom. Absolutely horrible. We went in for a simple jewelry change out and two customers waking in after us were serviced before us. An infection and another jewelry change out. Not good business. Then food was brought in and they ate in the piercing area. Not good sanitary practices. The piercer was told to eat before our jewelry change, until the realized their mistake. - they didn't wear masks and were super rough. When they went to put the jewelry in they broke it, didn't have another like it and had to settle on something I didn't like as well because "all sales are final" , on top of that they made me bleed and I've never had that issue before. - buyer beware !! Shop else where. We'll be going back to Pin Cushion in Frisco. Lesson learned. read more

Me and my friend just got our piercings done at this studio and absolutely loved the entire experience. The place itself has an amazing vibe with such cute decor and is quite spacious. Im not one to usually leave bad reviews but I was appalled with how I was treated by one of the guys working today. Went somewhere else and was offered a complete 180 of customer service. Someone who actually cared about their customer. Offered advice and listened. Asked questions. And actually cared. What a concept. . This may not be the whole staff but no one else stepped in. They stood their and watched and listened to him treat me the way he did. Best part from him: "not my problem" real nice huh? Best advice: be nice to people. I called to ask if they accepted walk-ins (they do which is great) but was turned down because the piercer didn't know how to do an eyebrow piercing, the piercer yelled "No" from across the room when the receptionist called for them for the eyebrow piercing (didn't like that lol) and then came out to tell me they didn't know how. I'm sure the business is great, was just a little disappointed because I was in town visiting for only a day, so I couldn't make an appointment for someone who did know how. Came in for a second lobe piercing, the piercing was fine. The piercers were polite and speedy, my issue is with the jewelry and cost. With earrings being included in the piercing cost, I did not expect them to be of the highest quality however the studs used here were not great. They were beginning to rust after only 4 weeks, turning my ear black at the back and I was in so much pain I couldn't hold my phone up to my ear. I was afraid this was an infection and had another piercer look and they informed me it was indeed the jewelry and that I was having a reaction due to the poor quality, and I typically do not have any metal sensitivities. I immediately changed the jewelry and within 2 days my ears were fine. Additionally, I also purchased a tongue ring + jewelry change out. It's been about a month and the diamond has already fallen out of the tongue ring and I had to toss it. Definitely not with the $40 for the jewelry. read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. Buckle up this is going to be a long one. Preface by saying appointments are NOT needed. The shops opens at 1:30. My daughter and I got there at 1:45 to an already over crowded waiting area... ok fine no big deal. I go up to counter and fill out the paper work and pay for me to get my nose pierced while asking about getting my daughters ears pierced (she's 6). She explains they don't usually do kids under 12 but we could speak with the piercer. This was daughters kinder "grad" gift she was so excited! She has had her ears pierced in a shop before so I didn't think it would be an issue. Anyways, that part really isn't essential. The counter girl tells me there are 7 people in front of me. And it'll be a bit. Ok, again, no problem. I pay, sit down and wait. An hour goes by. She finally says I would just come back in an hour. So we leave and come back an hour later. The people were still there! Ok my issue is why is it taking 2-3 hours to pierce 5 people. I used to work in a shop and live piercing were maybe 15 minutes including set up. Clearly this shop has one set of clamps and one auto clave. I digress, again. So another hour goes by. I haven't been updated or told sorry for the wait once.... the counter girl is hiding in the back. Everywhere I've been that allows walk ins will get you in in between appointments! Nope not here. It was finally about to be our go but then a couple walks in who had an appointment. We all sat about 30 minutes before THEY get called back. I could have been in right there. Finally another hour passed. It's been 3 hours. Finally I loudly say this is ridiculous can I please get a refund. The counter girl then starts to essentially blame me. "Oh I don't know what to tell you you saw how busy it was". Yes, I did. But you also gave me a time frame and then skipped over us when there was free time. Then they blamed Memorial Day. And only have one piercer. Then the what I'm assuming is the piercer/owner came out and essentially blamed Memorial Day for being busy. It's a Friday. Schools just let out and you're going to have ONE piercer in. Ok your prerogative..... the kicker! Finally I'm getting my refund and she says we were just double booked I couldn't help it. Couldn't help making your own schedule? But the part that irks me the most is NOT once was I told sorry for the wait or anything for that matter. They may do great piercings but their service is TRASH. Guess I'll never know about how well they pierce. Ok wasn't the owner my mistake. I did state assumed... as far as your facts. I was told there was ONE piercer. So that's the information I had. Clearly misinformed. Which isn't my fault. And saying it's Memorial Day weekend we're super busy and I'm sorry AFTER wasting most of my day is highly unacceptable when running a business. And being told "you saw how many people were here I don't know what to tell you" also bad business practice. We should have been approached LONG before wasting our time. And payment should NOT have been taken had staff known you were soooo busy and double booked. I hope your changes don't cause anyone else frustration and a waste of time. If I could give a 0 I would. My daughter went in to change out her stud to a hoop. First of all the girl that did it really hurt it her, I get it hurts changing from stud to hoop but this was a different level Hurt. My daughter broke her femur and and Has a very high tolerance to pain and this hurt her. Within hours of getting it changed out, it started to Hurt swell and get infected. By the next morning it was full of pus swollen and red. Luckily we had antibiotics on hand. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I thought this shop was good but nope. I went in a week ago to get 3 piercings. It cost me 222 + tax. Then a few days ago one of the ball fell out. I brought my jewelry in to just get it fixed. He charged me 60 dollars more. They wouldn't use my jewelry. Then today another piercing fell out. I called and asked if 60 was protocol. All he said I'm not going to pierce you for free. I said I had my jewelry And he said no you didn't. So we kept talking to me extremely rude. He said you can tighten the balls yourself but I was told not to touchy piercing. Then he said I'm not doing this with you. He was so rude to me. Patty was great but her husband was just nasty to me. I've never been treated so poorly at an establishment. Went here for their happy hour special to get my lobes done and it was great! Super simple process and didn't take more than 20 minutes to finish. They make sure to measure your ear and to take time in placing the dot of where the piercing will be. Lobe piercing was relatively painless and the jewelry used was super cute! After care instructions were also easy to understand and they explain into further detail after the piercing is done. I definitely recommend getting your piercings done here! read more

I really wanted to like this place because as someone with 26 piercings it would be a lot easier to be able to go to somewhere that is in mckinney and i loved the aesthetic of it. but it is insane to have to pay $40 for 316L surgical steel nose stud (plus the jewelry change fee it ended up being $60 and at that point it would have been cheaper for me to get a brand new nose piercing from them for $50). i can understand having to up the prices a bit to account for costs but when i asked the front desk lady why it was so expensive she said "they just are" which is not even remotely professional or appropriate when i'm asking a very valid question. i cannot comment on the quality of their piercing work but given my experience with 26 piercings and several piercing studios i will never come back here because it's just absurdly expensive and no one would tell me why. i also found it extremely off putting when i asked if they could refund me when i realized i had paid $40 for just plain 316L surgical steel (i thought it was titanium with that pricing honestly) because they charged me before anything had even been unwrapped to do the jewelry change i was greeted with an "all sales are final" in a rude voice. i rarely give people bad reviews, my old piercing studio screwed up putting in my new jewelry a couple of times, but they had fair prices and were understanding. i am so upset i had to pay $60 for a basic piece of jewelry and a jewelry change and yes that part is on me, but it would have been nice if they told me before i paid that much that there were no refunds. most normal piercing studios have you pay AFTER everything is complete. read more

I went in here for the first time to get some lobe piercings. The person that worked in the front was very nice and helpful. Maya pierced me and did a great job. She was very clean and precise and made sure to check in on me throughout the process. However, the man that worked there was very rude, obnoxious, and spoke very condescendingly to multiple customers and workers. While I was speaking to the person at the front desk, the man interrupted mid conversation to ask me if I had picked out my jewelry, to which I said yes and then they proceeded to ask what I was getting pierced again. The man continuously asked what I was getting pierced because they kept inserting themselves mid conversation and interrupting me while I was talking. I was also extremely uncomfortable when they approached another customer and asked her why she was wearing a mask. No one questioned why the staff weren't wearing masks, so why are they questioning their customers who ARE wearing masks? They also were speaking openly and joking about how a customer had come in earlier and walked out because she thought the staff was rude. They brushed it off as if they didn't care. There is no self awareness and if you can't take accountability for how you are treating your customers, you shouldn't be running a business. All in all, the piercing looks great and the piercer and front desk staff were amazing, but if I had not already paid, I would have walked out. No one deserves to feel bombarded and uncomfortable because of some of their staff. read more
