The station is served by the M train on weekdays, the R train during the day and the E train at night. The station has four tracks with two side platforms. The center tracks are for express trains that don't stop here and they are LOUD AS HECK when they zoom past. The southbound local platform gets the M train toward Metropolitan Avenue, the R train toward 95th Street and the E train toward World Trade Center. The northbound local platform gets the M and R trains toward 71st Avenue and the E train toward Jamaica Center. The station is tidy enough and well lit though I felt the platforms were rather narrow compared to other stations. I don't like people standing behind me at subway stations and there are only a very few benches here for waiting. Entrances at street level are stairs only. The station opened in 1936 and there is no handicap access here. There is a mezzanine level with ticketing kiosks and fare control, then another set of stairs down to the platform level. The one on the right reads the cards fine, but gives you a BIG problem entering your PIN/zip code because the numbers on the keypad are always stuck!!! So it gives an incorrect reading every time. Sucks if you're using your debit card since it gives a pending deduction every time you try and punch in the numbers. Not cool. My suggestion is to only use these machines if you have cash. Otherwise, fill up at another station.

There are plenty of signs at the station that tell you where to wait for that bus and which terminal to go for each airline. FYI, this bus is currently fare-free.

This station contains a token booth, and two street stairs to either eastern corner of Queens Boulevard and 67th Avenue. It also has a full length mezzanine, which also have dark blue I-beam columns, above the track platforms. The color mosaic tiles are navy blue and sky blue combination. The R train operate very moderately despite being a local train.

The platforms have a medium Cerulean blue tile band with a black border and mosaic name tile tablets reading "GRAND AVE. - NEWTOWN" of two lines in white sans serif lettering on a black background. Mosaic tiles is an old world charm art, a skilled craft honed.
