I am not a frequent rider of the M train. Here are some quick facts:…read more-It does service three boroughs: Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens -"In June 2025, internal MTA documents were leaked, indicating that a proposal to reroute M trains through the 63rd Street Tunnel and reroute F trains through the 53rd Street Tunnel would be presented for approval in fall 2025. If approved, the route swap would be this December" The 63rd Street station is overcrowded. Maybe this swap will also improve service in the F line - The M line allows one to explore Middle village, specifically Ridgewood l, Queens. Ridgewood is on my radar to visit frequently due to some really great restaurants located there - Pleasantly surprised to see live agent at the Forest Avenue station. He was courteous and professional when I asked for directions -"is a rapid transit service in the B Division of the New York City Subway. Its route emblem, or "bullet", is colored orange since it is a part of the IND Sixth Avenue Line in". I'm unsure of the emblem "bullet"'or rapid. Whenever I had ridden the M it's quite slow. More to come on this as I explore Middle Village in depth...

Similarly to many trains, I think the M Train's reputation is certainly better than perceived…read more Where as some train routes run far and wide, the M route actually begins and ends not too far from each other. And yet it through it all, it manages to cover three boroughs worth of train stops. Not half bad, if I do say so myself. For those needing to cover ground quick, the M Train is not the one. It is a local train, which means it stops and goes as often as people get on and off. Starting off in Forest Hills, it makes its way through western Queens and through Midtown Manhattan, before going through the Lower East Side and into Brooklyn and ending up in Middle Village, Queens. Sure people will gripe about reduced service, delays, and homeless people rampant on the M, but I find those aspects to be no different than any other train line. My personal experiences with the M have been fairly reliable, which is more than I can say about the rest.

The M Train - See how the individual M line map looks like a dick? Well, that's exactly how you'll feel when you get lost on this train. Touche', MTA.

SO another place I had to get off during my trip to NYC. This particular station seemed cleaner…read morethan most but was on the smaller side. The subway is depending on perspective an arduous task OR a fascinating opportunity to test out your directional and navagational skills. The reality is despite all of its downsides it is generally the fastest and cheapest way to roam NYC. Apple maps makes navigating the MTA transit system a breeze (I add this to all station reviews).

The station is served by the M train on weekdays, the R train during the day and the E train at night. The station has four tracks with two side platforms. The center tracks are for express trains that don't stop here and they are LOUD AS HECK when they zoom past. The southbound local platform gets the M train toward Metropolitan Avenue, the R train toward 95th Street and the E train toward World Trade Center. The northbound local platform gets the M and R trains toward 71st Avenue and the E train toward Jamaica Center. The station is tidy enough and well lit though I felt the platforms were rather narrow compared to other stations. I don't like people standing behind me at subway stations and there are only a very few benches here for waiting. Entrances at street level are stairs only. The station opened in 1936 and there is no handicap access here. There is a mezzanine level with ticketing kiosks and fare control, then another set of stairs down to the platform level.
