This station contain three (3) elevators for ADA accessibility and compliance. There is a human operated token booth at this station. There are walkway ramps with exposed "I" beams visible and wall murals and mosaics commissioned by artists. Occasionally, there are NYPD police presence on the platform which fends the illusion of safety and security for New Yorkers during turbulent times for rash of hate or bias assaults. Duke Ellington's "Take the A Train" still resonates through time and tide.

I get out on the Fulton side that leads you to Fulton St and Stuyvesant Ave across the street from Boys and Girls High School, adjacent from Fulton Park. There is no token booth, no one for customer service, and seldom NYPD available, however it is anything but grimey (that's Ebonics for dirty) and the four kiosk are always working but please be advised some mornings these kiosks do not take dollar bills. This exit is well lit and clean. The murals are a stationery to the culture of working class people and youth that attend neighboring schools that access the A/C trains daily. 4 stars because the MTA tore down our Token Booth. Welcome to Bed-Stuy.

This station is one of 3 or 4 that were totally renovated on the R-line several years ago,…read morere-opening around 2017. I've visited them all and they are all really nice. Each has improved seating, with "stand up boards" that let you simply lean without fully sitting. The bench seats have arms to help us old heads pry our bodies out of a sitting position. There is also improved recessed lighting that is not quite as harsh as the old fluorescent bulbs. The displays are also bright and back lit now, with some handy USB chargers if you need one in a pinch. Finally, each of the refurbished stations has some interesting and quite pretty art installation. It just looks so much better! In fact, when I stepped off the train the other day, I almost felt like I was in another cities metro system. It just looks clean and slick. That's a pretty big score for the MTA. Commuters and tourists should use it and enjoy it....you could do a lot worse.

The "M" train use to run with the "R" back in 1987, but as time went on the "M" no longer ran with the "R" in Brooklyn due to MTA's budget cuts in 2010. On the weekends and late nights the "D" & "N" provide extra service (unless stated otherwise) to help the "R" since it acts as a Shuttle train that terminates at 36th St & Bay Ridge-95th St while it skips 53rd & 45th Sts towards 36 St but stops at these two stations only if it's going towards Bay Ridge.

This station is located at West 110th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard at the northwest corner of Central Park. The station is mosaic name tablet is in midnight blue background surrounded in black border. This midnight blue mosaic color is vibrant. There is no mezzanine above the tracks which allow a free transfer between directions, northbound/southbound. For transfers to either northbound/southbound direction straphangers would have to exit the system to street level and walk to stairwell re-entry for access with OMNY card. I always find mezzanine or passageway transfers beneficial without loosing my paid fare and without exiting to the street in the winter months. There is a customer service booth. The subway entrance/exit kiosk is modern and very simple design, but serves as function and operate rather than beauty and ornate. Artwork "Migrations" by Christopher Wynter contains three different areas of mosaic panel installation, two on each platform and one on the full-time mezzanine. It appears very muted colors. You'll notice the 2018 recent bright renovations, including digital signage, and ability to cross between Uptown and Downtown lines make the station pleasant to use, if you don't mind the stairs. Nevertheless, the MTA SHAMEFULLY DID NOT INSTALL ANY ELEVATORS when they invested in the 2018 renovation - OUTRAGEOUS, considering that this station abuts the Northwest corner of Central Park, at the North Woods section! (Also, Morningside Park starts one block away!) People who cannot easily navigate the stairs, such as with strollers, carriages, or wheelchairs cannot easily use this subway station!!! Hard to believe, given the station is at a traffic circle, that there wasn't some location for MTA to accommodate the required elevators to make subway travel to this part of Central Park or Morningside Park easy for everyone!

The way they keep me coming back I'll be using this station more again. I know it's not a great station but it's historic to me. It's always the feeling I get when I'm entering the station. I know I'm home. I always felt secure because there's always been employee in the booth if I had a question. I didn't look to see today if there was someone on duty. I heard they were all going to be placed working on the platforms now! I'm not recommending one way or another. This station is a necessity so take the train and come see me. It can be a pain if you have or your companion has mobility issues. The outside of Pavonia-Newport PATH looks nice with greenery and flowers. It's almost like a little park.

Good considering the location isn't anything interesting. It serves the N and W Trains. These are almost the same thing, with both terminating a few stops north of here, so there's plenty of chances to catch a train up that ways. It gets good marks for having frequent trains to Astoria. This is a good way to get from Long Island City to Astoria, the only line that passes through. It can be difficult to find the entrance. It's at the corner of 31st Street and 39th Avenue. They allow crossing over after entering turnstiles.
