You average just want to have drinks in a church? Will look no further for the lost Abbey in San Diego. It looks definitely like a church but inside you can see that there's pores and food outside. It's pretty decent price in San Diego not gonna lie.

Cool spot away from the hustle and bustle. Enjoyed the beer selection and friendliness of the staff. Would come back!

Fantastic brewery that is on my list to revisit any time I'm in San Diego. Love the concept church meets brew. Super friendly staff and patrons and can't forget that it's super pup friendly. Every beer I tried was smooth and easy to drink even the IPAs which I'm typically not a fan of. East SD is definitely not what it once was and I say if in San Diego give them a visit - you won't regret it.

How cool to be in an old church! A wonderful space inside and a courtyard with more seating. I arrived in November and they still had the Halloween decorations up. I loved the table of skeletons playing cards lol Very cute and fun! The pew seats aren't the most comfortable but there are plenty of seats. Great menu with so many beers. Here is what I tried: Moral Codes: Yep it's a West coast. Taste a little grassy. Noble Tendencies: Clean testing, slight hops. Kharisma Bianca: Slight sweetness. Tastes like a mellow tea. Time really taste the peaches. Crisp taste. Cuvee de Tomme: 3.8 Thick. Cherry notes. Burn on the end. Lost and Found: Smokey funky barrel taste. Farmhouse: Very clean. More after taste. It's okay. Can't wait to come back!

My doggo patiently waiting for us.

Very cool lil spot. Lots of options to choose from. Something for everyone. Beer, hard cider, or non alcoholic available. Hot dog shop next door you can grab food from. Can order online and pick up when it's ready. Indoor and outdoor seating. They have dog treats for your furry companions. Have flights available and beer to go. Will be back.

Ok so now I'm next door. A beer church, yeah that's my kind of church. Unique setting. Friendly service & great beer. I opted for a short pour of heavenly hitter , crisp and refreshing, just what I needed. Shares outdoor space with Doggos Gus and I think they're a match made in heaven!

Do yourself a favor and stop in to this place :) we lived a couple blocks from here and would walk the dog down. The indoors offers such a beeeauutiful church vibe, down to the old creaky pews you can sit at. The people who come in and sit around are so friendly and will strike up a convo with anyone that comes through. I'm the craft beer snob in the family so what I say goes and this place offers unique taps to give a go BUT they also offer even MORE types to try in cans. We've brought a few home in the past and my partner enjoys them. If you're looking to enjoy to beautiful San Diego outdoor weather, no worries, there's a deck and a little beer garden that sits next door with food from a hot dog place(i think?) you can order from two windows.

Alright, Lost Abbey isn't just a brewery it's a whole vibe. First off, it's literally in a church, so drinking here somehow feels both rebellious and holy at the same time. Like, "forgive me, Father, for I have hopped" kind of energy. The beer? Yeah, it's good. Really good. The kind that makes you nod in approval after the first sip like you're in on some divine secret. Location? Couldn't be better right near the ballpark, so you can pregame, postgame, or just avoid baseball altogether and focus on the important things (beer). Service is top-tier, they've got a kitchen if you need to soak up the holy water, and it's pet- and kid-friendly, meaning you'll see everything from golden retrievers to toddlers living their best brewery life. Plus, there's plenty of parking nearby, which in this city is basically a miracle. Lost Abbey? More like Found My New Favorite Spot. Amen.

Decent flight

I had been familiar with The Lost Abbey for many years as I'm a beer geek, but I hadn't had a chance to visit any of the taprooms until this past November. My wife and I came here for some drinks before dinner and it was a decent stop overall. The venue itself is very nice as it's an old deconsecrated church and it fits well with the brand of the beer. Service was good and we had a flight of 4 beers, all of which were decent. The downside is that their bottles of beer to go are way too expensive and you can get beer that is just as good for half the price at other breweries. It's a nice place overall, but ended up not being our favorite brewery stop in San Diego.

I didn't have enough time here and wish I could have pushed back my flight. What a beautiful location and the beertender was super friendly. I had the Every Everything IPA- a classic West Coast.

Drinks are great, setting is interesting for a brewery run! Must go!

Such a gem! Stumbled upon this place by accident. Adorable historic building with beautiful wood and cold AC. Great service from happy people!

Cute place!

Cute place! My husband and I walked over here and each had a delicious beer. The bartender was incredibly friendly and helpful with suggestions. I love the old church and the beer names- I had the "Jesus Mary and Joseph". We would've loved to have more drinks, but we were starting to feel pretty dehydrated from our flight and all the walking and lack of water. I must say, the local pups sure love this place, too! All the ones that came in with their owners popped their front paws on the counter to ask for their dog treat- so cute!

I had to leave a review right away bc I was so impressed by this place. First of all, they are…read moreextremely dog friendly. The inside is gorgeous and there's a spot especially for dogs outside. Their outdoor seating with patio is beautiful! This place is absolutely divine! At this point, I dont really care about how the food tastes. Lol! Let's start off with the one problem i had with this place. The parking!!! It took me 20m to find parking and im not about to park my car on the street. I have precious dogs! Lol kidding. I just couldn't find any parking on the street or in the block! I suppose i came during lunch which is probably really busy. When I left, there were quite a few opened parking spots. This place is connected to an apartment complex surrounding retail stores. The leasing building is right next to Gravity Heights. I used to rent a 4k+ a month apartment in a retail area and let me tell you, its a hassle to find parking and not take a retail parking spot without having your complex email you everyday about your car potentially being towed lol! I understand this pain. Now that we are past that, let's get to why this place deserves 5 stars. The service is excellent! My server came around at the perfect times and they seem to really care if I enjoyed my meal! The stellar atmosphere with attentive service is enough for me! I got a gravity burger protein style which I dont think did the burger justice. I was going to eat with my husband later at a Vietnamese restaurant and I can only choose one carb for the day. My diabetic life is tough! Lol. I chose the Cesar salad to go with my burger. My burger was delicious bc of the caramelized onions. I didn't really taste a sauce in the burger but the excellent bacon with the much needed caramelized onions made the burger fantastic! The IPA hazy beer i had with my meal was also light and mellow. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and meal. My babies also enjoyed their burger! The weather was perfect today and it was a nice time and to think I was not going to eat here bc the parking definitely was a huge deterrent. Next time ill bring human company!

Decided to stop by here to try out their happy hour and was not disappointed. Parking was fairly…read moreeasy and got a spot right outside the restaurant. We got sat right away in the happy hour area. As we were walking in I noticed the decor looked really nice and the ambience of the restaurant felt clean and modern. We ordered some happy hour cocktails to start and they were really strong (but tasty) in my opinion. Maybe I'm just lightweight though. We also ordered some oysters, the shrimp aguachile, and the smashburger to share which were all tasty. Service was good, our waitress was friendly and checked up on us. Overall a successful happy hour visit and would visit again as they seem to have a rotating menu.
