The atmosphere is always very friendly, and they always carry the new big ticket movies. I love this place.

It's for sure due for a lobby and concession area "glow up" The newer theatres with Dolby sound and recliner seats are clean and the seats are comfy. My only complaint about the seats is the recliner works oddly. It's sort of all or nothing which I'd prefer to have my legs up and not lie down. I'd skip pretzels, mine were cold and lacked any flavor. For the more outdated theatre the prices are high, almost $20 for a movie here which is more than the prices at the brand new theatre in St. Louis so In my opinion, it's too high. If you are into a no frills movie experience then this is the spot! Good popcorn and comfy seats!

Asked for no step seating for an imax showing of Hail Mary. Was given seats with a step to them. Had my partner not been with me, I would not have been able to sit. Then after the movie, tried to use the restroom but the stall door was too narrow to fit my standard size walker. Thought this theater would be nicer, newer, more updated but was truly disappointed. Wonder if the department that grants the Ada certification is aware how very.not Ada this facility is...

The staff was amazing. It felt like they all were an intimate part of this historic place. We had several staff members personally thank us for coming on the way out. Wow! When have you had that at a movie theatre lately. They have a nice concessions booth. Beer and wine is a nice touch from the stage left bar. We can't wait to see a concert at our newly discovered gem.

It's where I saw many of the classic Disney animation films and one of my favorite musicals, Sound of Music. Today, I went for a taping of a STL news program. Great Day St. Louis was doing a live broadcast promoting, the centennial of Route 66. The program was not only informative, but entertaining as well. I enjoyed seeing the old theatre that now host, concerts, comedians, movies and a variety of other activities. Seeing the old concession stand, plaques on the walls and the vintage decor added to my flashback of the good ole days. Seeing the second floor as an event space was super cool. It would be great for a wedding reception, retirement party or a momentous birthday or anniversary. If you're in need of a party space, be sure to check, The Wildey.

The seats are cushy comfortable with foot rest that you can control. They also have a small snack table with a cup holder attached to each chair. Having this table makes it so much easier to enjoy the movie. Trying to hold on to your popcorn and soda, while watching a movie is always a challenge. The screen is a good size for boutique sized theaters. The sound is also adjusted to a good volume. It's not overly load or to soft that you cannot hear each and every line. Concessions are expensive like any movie house. Soda and popcorn are self-serve. They give you a soda glass and an empty popcorn tub and you fill it yourself. If you like buttery popcorn, you're in control of how much you add to your tub. Bonus, they have a small bar that serves, beer, wine and a variety of canned seltzer's. NCG is the only movie house in Alton. Even if it weren't, I'd still be back. The staff is friendly and the theatre itself is one of the cleanest movie houses I have visited.
