We were repeatedly directed here, and we were certainly glad we took their advice. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, and our server provided exceptional service throughout our visit. We were especially impressed that he was able to take the orders of our entire group of 12 entirely from memory while remaining attentive and efficient. I ordered the homemade tenderloin sandwich and was genuinely surprised by its impressive size and quality. During our meal, the owner/chef personally stopped by our table to ask how everything was and took the time to speak with us about what brought us to Maquoketa. It was a thoughtful and personal gesture that you do not often experience, even at family-owned establishments. Overall, we had an excellent experience. Between the quality of the food, attentive service, welcoming atmosphere, and genuine hospitality, it was easy to understand why so many locals recommended this restaurant. We would gladly return the next time we are in Maquoketa.

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon and the bar had a few people seated at it. The bartender, I didn't get her name but her tattoo sleeves were awesome, was friendly and attentive. We didn't ask for recommendations and maybe we should have. We got the beer battered portobellos which were flavorful though a bit greasy. I love fluffy beer batter so these were my favorite. We then got the pork tenderloin sandwich breaded with fries. Noticed the locals got it grilled. The tenderloin was definitely a round circle of processed pork which was so gamey even the mayonnaise and pickles and onions didn't disguise it. The fries were excellent. So if we make it through the next 48 hours without adverse abdominal distress we'll go back and try the grilled pork tenderloin.

This was also pretty good. The ham was fresh shaved cooked ham. The bar itself was clean and spacious. Service was kind and quick. The bathroom is in need of a major update. NO doors on the stalls. The place also needs some decor and pave the parking lot.

( said they were behind) but they actually forgot to make the food. Then I was told that the online ordering was down. If that was the case, how did they know what I ordered and then what to make when I came in to pick up my order? They said. Oh just a few mins and then 30 mins later the food came out. Hmm. No Im sorry or taking accountability for their error. Today I called in my order for pizza and a few other items. This was for my mom's birthday dinner. When I came in to pick up the order they handed over the pizza and was quick to take payment, while I waited for them to run my card I looked at the pizza and thank goodness I did. The pizza was completely burnt. When I asked the bartender about it she blamed the oven then she blamed the cheese. She said the owner Brandy knows about the problem but hasn't given it any attention or tried to fix the problem. The bartender also didnt even try to fix the problem or offer anything in its place. When I arrived home the other food was also not cooked all the way. The cheese curds were cold in the center. The hamburger bun was soggy and the fries were soggy and cold. Mind you my mom only lives about 10 mins away, so the food shouldn't have been cold when we got home. The ranch sauce was also very watery. I don't understand how so many things could go wrong with the same order. This was a complete waste of money. I have given this place multiple chances and they have been horrible. I really wish it was a better experience and better food.

This place is great to grab a bite to eat for lunch or dinner when cruising through the country side- especially since lots of bars in the area don't serve lunch.
