As the name says, it does look like a saloon. A terrific job was done to give it that appearance. There are booths to sit at with a T.V. at each one. I like this. I ordered the fish and it tasted great!!! So were the fries and coleslaw. The burgers were juicy full of flavor. Not dry. The beer prices are affordable. You can even go outside to eat and drink. A pool table and dart board are also provided for your fun. After my experience last night. I think I'll have to visit Charlotte more often. With this place in mind.

We stopped in Clinton on our way home from the East coast to visit the Dambo trolls. As is the hope…read morefor towns that have these trolls, we decided to eat at a local establishment before hitting the road again. This place was recommended by both Yelp and a local and we were glad we stopped in! There is no doubt you are in a restored decommissioned church so the atmosphere was definitely unique! High or low top tables plus outside seating on a quiet street. We opted for inside as it was hot outside. We both had the specials: hubby had the shrimp Poboy which was very good. He especially appreciated the option to have tater tots as his side. He had the pink lemonade craft soda- originally thought he would like to try other flavors but really liked this one. I had the pickle pizza (without bacon as I am a vegetarian) and it was very tasty. I love salt but there was even a bit too much salt on the pretzel crust. It was easily remedied by brushing the excess off. Ate half and brought half home to enjoy the next day. Service was friendly and efficient but I forgot to note the name of our server. If you are in town visiting the trolls, make sure you put this place on your list!

Your first visit will have you reaching for your phone to take photos like a European tourist!!…read more Who would have thought to convert an old church into a brewery and restaurant?? You'll wonder if you have the right place when looking for this restaurant. It's in an old church with incredible ambiance that is just awe inspiring! The service is slow though as they don't have enough people working the front of house. This place has a lot of seating at wood slab tables and limited seating at the bar, placed in what once was the sacristy area. I ordered the A-Porkalypse burger, which was very large. I immediately cut it in half. Delicious...... We ordered a pizza as well to sample that. I had the tots instead of fries, and we all had their home brewed root beer. The root beer was not quite as good at the 1919 Root Beer found locally at Hy-Vee and Walmart, but was acceptable. Their home brewed craft draft beer menu is extensive and while I did not try any this trip, I'll certainly stop in again to sample that side of the menu. They also have craft soda and very limited canned beer. Who needs canned beer when their draft menu is so huge!!?? We ate like we were taking most of it home in order to sample their deserts. We ordered the Caramel Apple Bread Pudding that was indeed two portions and very hot! It was a chore for three of us to finish. Bottom line is this.........if you are in Clinton, Iowa and looking for an extremely unique place to park your carcass for a bite, beverage and awesome ambiance, look no further. Enjoy!!

All of it was good served hot and fresh, although some of the smaller pieces of chicken were a little dry but the taste was very good. The service was outstanding. Everyone was very efficient and friendly. All while we were there they were continuing to clean. Most of the people working there were wearing masks per covid precautions correctly however there was one who was making salad dressing and filling soups and such who's mask was down too far to be helpful. The meals all came with soup or salad in which we all ordered the chicken and rice soup which was very good. The chicken meals came with a potato and mixed vegetables and the spaghetti meal came with garlic toast and all meals came with dessert. The meals were all plentiful and tasty. As I mentioned they really went above and beyond cleaning which we appreciated especially since we are in the middle of a pandemic. I will say the floor on the way to the restrooms and inside of them were very slick so I would be careful on them. The parking was very convenient and plentiful.
