I stayed here for three nights last month while visiting my daughter. I didn't take advantage of many of the resort's amenities, including the pools, spa, golf courses, or sports centers, so I can't speak to those. From an aesthetic standpoint, the resort is definitely dated, and there was a bit of a "grandma's attic" smell throughout. That said, the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of my room. It was more like a small suite, with a kitchenette that included a mini fridge and microwave, as well as a separate living area with a couch, chair, and TV. The bedroom was spacious and had a comfortable king bed, another TV, and nightstands. There were two separate vanities--one in the bathroom area and another between the bathroom and bedroom, across from the closet. The free Wi-Fi was consistent and worked well throughout my stay. Overall, it was a decent and comfortable stay. The resort could definitely use some updating, but the spacious room, friendly staff, and reliable Wi-Fi made for a pleasant visit. read more

Toilet was broke, freezing when we arrived. They had it set at 57. They wouldn't let us check in early I'm assuming that someone must of been in there and they needed to clean it. If that's the case then why not turn the heat up knowing people are arriving shortly. Keep in mind it's 30 outside and was 57 in the room. Tv hardly works. No instruction sheet (like they have in every other place I've stayed) letting you know how to work things. Ceiling above shower head looks to be a patch and it's failing bad. The rooms were unkempt; the headboards had been used so long that the faux leather was flaking onto the pillows, and there were ants in the bathroom and on the bed. I know this sounds harsh. Still, it's indeed old and outdated. However, the staff is amazing, lovely, and engaged. The issue obviously is if you're going to say you're a lodge and a destination, you can't be doing this 1970s stuff, 80s, or whatever it is. I'm telling you it's really bad. That's OK I hope that this review and others will make them get better, and by the way, it's a Wyndham resort, so they should know better read more

The room was very dated, the elevator had a bad odor, the room wasn't very clean (hair in the sink & dirty dishes), and the sensor on the patio door was broken so the air conditioner wouldn't work. The building wasn't secure either. You're supposed to use your room key to access the building, but the door remained unlocked at all times. We didn't feel secure. Anyone could have walked right in. The Good - The resort itself and surrounding amenities. Basically anything not the hotel. The Lodge- Dated Rooms, dimly lit, no housekeeping, tiny trash cans, staff isn't terribly knowledgeable but will answer your questions. Room coffee was decaf only, packaging was not in English - so didn't realize this until headaches came later in the day. No complimentary coffee in lobby but you can pay $2.50 per cup when the restaurant is open for breakfast. WiFi is horrible drops consistently and cell service in the area can be spotty making the availability of WiFi all the more critical for guests trying to do business. Ok, I don't really like to leave negative reviews but I just wanted to inform people about this place. We came here as a get away a week before our family reunion in sun River. Finding hotels was nearly impossible so we settled on the eagle crest lodge because we have been to eagle crest and it's usually nice. This wasn't the case. There site says freshly renovated but they did nothing. When we first stepped in it was really dark and basic. There was only two lights. There was the dim light above the kitchen and one above the entry way. We checked in late at night and the room was pretty much pitch black. We called the desk and they got us a lamp. This place didn't feel super dirty but it just felt beat up and basic. The only thing really going for it are the pools and having a microwave and fridge in your room. We got a room on the first floor since we have a dog and we get a beautiful view of the parking lot. However it did have a sliding glass door that let us get our stuff from our car to our room really fast. Would I recommend this for a friend? Only unless you can't get any other hotel. It's beat up and basic. If this costed more like 150-160 a night I would get it but I believe I paid around 180 a night. Pretty expensive tbh read more

Even though we are not golfers, we looked forward to a 'resort' stay in a suite with a pretty view towards the greens while in the area for an event. Over two nights we discovered several things not up to our initial expectations or to the price that we paid: The furniture was almost shabby and not comfortable. The bathroom doors squeaked so if you got up during the night, the sleeper was disturbed by the noise. Even on "low", the air conditioner blasted right onto the bed, so I rigged up a towel to divert the air flow. The bedroom window didn't have shears so you couldn't open the curtains until fully dressed; and the shears in the living room were off-track/askew. It took some fiddling and several tries to get the Kuerig coffee maker to work. To turn on the shower, you had to endure a blast of cold water since there was no way to reach the faucet without being in the shower. For a resort of this size, you would think that there wold be several electric car chargers available. No, there is only one and you cannot make a reservation for it like at other hotels. A Tesla was plugged in for a very long time, and the plug we needed was out of order, "sorry for the inconvenience." Are their golf carts electric, and do they only have one on a first come, first served basis? The Restaurants were either a long walk or a drive away. We went into two of them in the "clock tower" plaza and were unimpressed by the noise level and lack of attention. So we drove back into town for dinner instead. The market had no produce or fresh fruit (I thought it was advertised that they did), and a box of Triscuits was marked $7.99. The best service we received was in the breakfast café, although essentially an egg mcmuffin cost $12. I highly recommend that the owners/administrators stay in the rooms to experience the level of care compared to the pricing, and make adjustments accordingly. Oh, and we couldn't see the greens for the overgrown shrubs in front of our first floor room. We will not be returning. read more

This rooms deceked out 3/4 kitchen, 2 bath sinks, balcony (no stairs to get to room either) master suite with door, fireplace, 2 TVs, fridge , kitchen sink, microwave. The amenities for families are amazing, upper scale enough for kids to not be little dicks, and family friendly enough people don't hate you for having kids (5yr and 1yr love it) but they are super well behaved. The one thing this property has going for it is location. It's in a lovely part of the high desert, and not a far drive from Smith Rock and other nearby wonders of nature. At check-in, Martha told me that I had been upgraded to a suite, in recognition of my IHG Platinum status. When I asked if the suite had a golf course view, she informed me that only the second floor suites had those but, as my view would be of the parking lot, I would instead have a fireplace. Sounded okay, so I collected my keys and the directions to the room and set off. The Holiday Inn side of the property is spread out across two floors along two wide wings, and those who have a parking lot view get a sliding-glass door out to the street just in case you want to grab something from your car. The property is geared heavily towards families, with sports activities throughout the day and a fitness room with hot tub that is only open from 8AM-6:30PM (6:15PM for the hot tub). The pool is closed when there are various scheduled activities like adult swim or aqua fitness (which will cost you an additional $4 to attend). The restaurant is a longish walk or a short drive over to the other side of the property, but beware it closes fairly early (9:30PM). As to the room...where it all fell apart. - Unfortunately, the vaunted fireplace had a very low flame and made the room reek of propane. When I raised this concern with Nate - the Front Desk Manager - the following day, he informed me that maintenance knew of a problem with the fireplaces and I should refrain from using it until it was fixed. - The walls are exceptionally thin. I could hear the person in the adjacent room snoring while trying to get to sleep, and when the kids above me decided to jump and play in their room, I wondered if the ceiling would cave in. Oh, and you'll hear a crying baby from down the hallway. - Maintenance won't come to fix your problems. I had a burnt-out lightbulb as well as a toilet seat that wouldn't stay up, and submitted the problem to Jasmine at the Front Desk in person before going out for the afternoon. I came back and absolutely nothing had been done. - Housekeeping don't do a great job of cleaning up the room. I found debris on a shelf that looked like dry cleaning detritus from a prior guest. Also, they won't remove towels on the ground like every other hotel in the world, nor replenish towels. - Speaking of dry cleaning - there seems to be a split opinion if there is any. I was told by a gentleman at the Front Desk on the day of my arrival that while I could use the coin-operated machines, there was no hotel laundry service I could take advantage of and definitely no dry cleaning. Nate on my second day said that wasn't the case, but by this point I'd resolved to check out. - If you actually do have clean clothes you want to hang, you may want to bring your own hangars. There are 2 nice closets in the suites, but with only 3 hangers each you'll find it hard to do much with them. - Also, be careful about bringing valuables. The rooms do not have safes, though you can use safety-deposit boxes at the Front Desk or store items in the Front Desk office. That issue was doubly worrisome given the side door leading into the hotel from the parking lot doesn't lock, despite the sign stating that keycard access was required. I was told it should have locked after 10PM, but found it open at 11PM and 1AM. - Hot water also seems to be optional. As I write this, I am still waiting (over 40 minutes now) for someone to show up after speaking to Kayley (sp?) at the Front Desk about my shower only running cold. - Oh, don't try to call the Front Desk from the in-room phones. The button labeled "Front Desk / Concierge" has consistently rung the Housekeeping voicemail every time I've called it. If you have a problem while in your room, call the resort's outside number (hey, at least it's toll-free) or walk to the Front Desk in person. This isn't a resort. This is a test of how little service you are willing to put up with while paying exceptionally good money. As an IHG Platinum guest who would have crossed back into IHG Spire with this stay, I chose to check out 3 days early and pay nearly 50% more for a room elsewhere. With all of the above going for it, I'd put the Eagle Crest resort below most of the motels I could have stopped at off 97. read more

Where do I start?!?! We stayed this last weekend at The Lodge for our son's golf tournament Aug 19th-23rd. The Resort was nothing special other than convenience of the location for the golf match. The website said rooms were renovated...that's far from it. Our room was old, stinky, and had broken slider lock bar and broken towel hanger. My wife reported of our door not opening, come to find out the battery was dead in the mechanism. Front desk guy was delivering extra towels at the same time because they didn't provide overnight service either, he said he'll get maintenance down. Hours later, I mean probably at least 4 hrs we got back door wasn't fixed. I went to front desk and mentioned it wasn't fixed. They acknowledged it needed to fix but then I saw a note on the counter with our room number saying "need new batteries for door". Then they told me they didn't have batteries but had to go to someone's office to get them. What?!?! They offered us food voucher ($35) for the inconvenience and asked us breakfast or dinner. We said breakfast. Well, we tried numerous times for breakfast and it was either over packed or not available. Our last morning we tried again. They said sorry, we don't have hot breakfast today. It was a Monday!! . Why not? They said sorry we just started today not serving hot food but you can buy other stuff. Well, we are not buying $35 worth of snacks, etc at 7:30AM before we are leaving. We went to the front desk and the gal said we either do breakfast at Aerie or dinner at their sister location Niblick & Greene's. We said we were just there last night and have receipts. They said sorry, can't do anything since you already paid for dinner....it was not great at all...blah. I went back and told the front desk is that it all stemmed from bad door and it never got fixed, so can they just apply credit to the room because there's no sense for us to buy $35 worth of snacks!!! She finally gave us a credit towards our room. This place is so overpriced for the lodging and how they advertise it's ridiculous. If it wasn't for the convenience of being there or getting my Government rate I don't think we would want to pay the $300+ per night. read more

This place is a nightmare. Unless you are parents of feral children 12 & under DO NOT come here. This Holiday Inn "Lodge" occupies 1 or 2 levels of the building. The 3rd level is low quality time share apartments. Let me share: For 2 full days the rooms above us have been occupied by children running mostly unsupervised as their parents have dumped them off while they go off somewhere to enjoy being the irresponsible adults that they are. "Well why didn't you say something to the front desk?" You urge me to ask. We did, we have been and all we get are: "They're a different company and we have nothing to do with them. But we will try to talk to their front desk." After 10P.M. and many hours of wild children jumping and running upstairs, we gave up on the "proper channels", went up and talked to the father as his kids were running out of their apartment. He said they haven't been talked to once. So somebaody is lying to us and I think it's everyone. Holiday Inn is lying, Wyndham Resorts International (the time share company) is lying to us and the father is lying to us. All I can do is to recommend that anyone seeking comfortable lodging go anywhere but here at the Holiday Inn Eagle Crest Resort of Hell. If you're the parent of kids you've neglected by letting them become feral, running wild 24/7 undisciplined creatures, the this would actually be a great place for you. read more

Here on business. The good - great, friendly service in the cafe. Grounds are vast. Very pretty setting. The not so good - if you want ice, prepare for a hike. Just annoying. Front desk staff somewhat friendly but not very informative, "ok...here is your key!" As I said, the grounds are huge and everything is spread out. A little effort and customer service would be appreciated. Accommodations are clean which is always a plus but boring. It is a sterile room. Don't expect much. In addition, I'm in an ADA room. The shower is a nightmare. Despite the 2 drains in the floor, all the water runs everywhere and the last two mornings I've spent more time that I'd like, at all, moping up the floor!!! Again, annoying, especially when here on business and I have someplace to be! When I mentioned it to housekeeping all they said was, "yeah, that room does that"! Seriously!?! Such a nice hotel! My room is clean, modern, not a single chip on the paint, the bathroom is huge, the tub is big, the fridge is also huge (although it was a bit noisy), new tv and tons of channels, cozy beds, etc. My only complaint is the lack of plug ins near the bed. I had to unplug the alarm clock to charge my phone. I was here for a conference and the conference rooms were also lovely, clean, and we'll taken care of. The food they served us during the conference was wonderful. There's a pool and a big area to lay out in the sun, there's also great walking trails, picnic tables everywhere, plenty of parking. The employees were very sweet and helpful. There's also a help desk where you get check out the local adventures and even reserve tours and whatnot. Great stay overall! read more

Could have used better direction when coming from the north. Otherwise the setting on a golf course and features a few different pool options. We were on our way to CA and only spent a night at the hotel which is part of the Holiday Inn chain. We arrived late in the evening and due to the remoteness decided to eat dinner in the lobby bar/cafe. The pizza was good and the service was spot on. The room was up to the Holiday Inn standard with comfortable beds, roominess and quiet surroundings. We did not play the golf course but did drive the property to the river access. The trail was steep but the walk along the river was rewarding. Would like to return and spend a day or two taking advantage of the various opportunities afforded at Eagle Crest. read more

Do not stay here!!! NOT a good value. Our AC isn't getting our room cool...we have asked for assistance twice, maintenance came and serviced it, but there has been no change. The hallways are nice and cool so we've resorted to just propping our door open. We've been told it's just hot out, but no other rooms we peeked in felt hot like ours. Also we chose this room because it has a kitchenette and we wanted to bring our own food, but the refrigerator doesn't get very cold, so we've just been keeping a cooler of food on ice..but kind of defeats the purpose. We asked maintenance to take a look and they said that's as cool as it goes, sorry. Also room is not well taken care of in general: missing tiles, light bulb out, stained carpet and couch. Oh! And when I was checking in the front desk lady was telling someone on the phone that the "exterminator had been called to their room".. Yikes! read more

Let me tell you about my very disappointing experience with this property. We made a reservation on Trip Advisor by searching for Pet Friendly Hotels in Redmond, OR... You know how TripAdvisor will offer to search for this when you input dates and a city...I've used this to book trips on many occasions and this is the first time there's been an issue. Because Redmond is in the path of totality for the 2017 Great American Solar Eclipse, you can imagine not many rooms were available in the area, in fact this property came up showing only two rooms were open. A quick check of their website to ensure they were pet friendly was not easy, the property's website is not well designed or at least this information is not available on the home page, it took me a couple of minutes to locate what I thought at the time was my reassurance that everything would be golden. This is what their website says in regard to pets: "The Lodge at Eagle Crest hotel features pet-friendly rooms available for an additional $25 per reservation and pet-friendly vacation rentals for $50 per reservation. Please note, these pet policies apply to the Lodge hotel at Eagle Crest Resort and Eagle Crest Vacation Rental guests only. Pet-friendly accommodations are limited to the canine variety at this time. Simply inquire when making your reservation. " We have 2 small beagles, which of course are very famous for being the gentlest and well-tempered breed in the world. This fact is why companies who test products on animal choose beagles, beagles wont resist and are not aggressive. When making a reservation through TripAdvisor, there is no place to input that you will have pets, and I had only been searching for properties that ARE pet friendly, so I thought I had a confirmed reservation at a property that would accommodate us and our two beagles. Check IN Day: I called the front desk to find out exactly where we needed to come to check in for our reservation. This is a large property and there are a couple of confusing signs that we had seen, I mentioned we would be there shortly with our dogs and this is when I am told that my dogs would not be welcome. The front desk told me that they are a pet friendly property, but that this unit is not pet friendly. After me whining on about this for a few minutes, the front desk agent told me if I choose to just complete check in, that I would have to pay a $500 fine for violating the pet policy. Well why didn't you say so.... But I figured this would be too good to be true, so I pressed her and asked if I would be able to complete the stay with the two beagles in the unit.... She said yes so, I told her this was acceptable, let's do this! Then she transferred me to Silka in Guest Services who told me that yes, if I checked in with the dogs I would need to pay the $500 fine, and that the dogs would need to be removed from the room and property immediately. More misinformation.... They of course are keeping $508.00 give or take a few singles as this was my deposit equal to one night's stay as they said I canceled the reservation. Here's the deal folks: If you want to sell your wares to an online audience, then your policies should be consistent. You either accommodate pets, or you don't. If your guest is in this situation due to unclear policies (they said I should have called them to make sure.... The whole point of booking online and using the PET FRIENDLY filter is so I DON'T have to call. THIS IS THE POINT OF ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEMS) and you aren't going to allow the two sweet beagles to be in the room, don't keep the deposit, refund it. It's the least you could do for making us all miserable. read more

We literally only stayed at The Lodge at Eagle Crest for one night for a place to sleep. We flew into Bend pretty late in the evening (around 10pm) and went straight to our hotel to check in. The check-in process was easy and the room was clean and decent. Nothing extraordinary, but it was just what we needed - a clean, decent place to sleep. We stayed at a different place during our stay in Bend (rented a house with a bunch of friends who were attending our friend's wedding), but did enjoy our stay at this Lodge. The next morning, we literally just woke up, got ready, and checked out. We didn't get to see much of the Lodge, but it was cute, from the glimpses I remember. read more

First let me say, the customer service and maid service were very good. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay was over shadowed by poor sleep, lack of hot food availability, and a cold shower start. It was our first time at the Eagle Crest Resort. We brought guests with us. We gave them the king-sized bed and had the unfortunate opportunity to sleep on the trundle bed. It was small, very hard and slanted. I've slept on trundle beds... but this one was horrible. So, after a very bad night of no sleep and discomfort, I was greeted with a poorly designed shower. It's pretty to look at but not functional. The glass doesn't move forcing you to step into the shower to turn it on. You are blasted with very cold water before it turns warm. Not a way I like to wake up. You can't turn the shower head as it is immovable. Great... From there the we decided to explore the area, as were not golfers, we chose to go hiking to see what Central Oregon's mountain terrain was about. After a long day of hiking, we were looking forward to a hot meal and relaxation. We arrived back at the Resort at 4:20. With three cafes and a restaurant what could go wrong. Guess again... The cafe in the hotel doesn't open until 5:30, the cafe by the restaurant closes at 5:00, consequently they don't offer hot food after 4:30 because they turn the grill off, and the Restaurant doesn't serve dinner until 5:00 but we can go to the bar. Not possible, since we have our 9-year-old grandchild with us. Our guests left the premises to drive to Redmond in search of a hot meal. My husband and I were too tired to drive any further so opted for cold sandwiches. My cheese panini sandwich was served cold, flat and hard; almost too hard to eat; rubber would have tasted better. Later in the evening, our guest and my husband decided to go the bar. My husband was still very hungry and had hoped to get a beer and something hot to eat. He wasn't offered a menu nor could he get one. Of course, he excused it by saying they were busy. To me, this is not an excuse. Too busy to offer a menu? The next morning, we were greeted with our bill, which was $60 more than we had expected. I base this on the phone call when I made the reservations. I triple checked all fees and the total bill amount. We didn't get our discount and were also surprised with an 8% resort fee. I disputed the bill the very morning we received it. I was told I'm sorry for your discomfort then I was told the manager was not in and that the customer service desk could do nothing about it but I was assured the manager would call so that we could clear up the dispute. I have not heard from anyone as of yet. We had hoped to show our guests a good time and show off a some of Oregon. It was soured. To say the least, this was a very poor experience for all of us. We will not be back nor will we recommend the resort to our friends and family. Our guests have expressed the same. read more

Great complex but way out of the way. Beds were excellent, but rooms could use a facelift. We checked in after 10:00 pm and the counter person was less that friendly or informative. I got the impression that checking in guests was not his primary role. Room was clean and quiet, but overpowered me with a strong perfume odor. The little breakfast restaurant was excellent and out waitress was attentive and super nice. Good value food that was tasty too. read more

Stayed here several times over the years. Its not bad. It is dated and due for a remodeling. Beds are comfortable and clean and fresh. Got me a ADA room for the next 3 days which sucks. The shower is a nightmare. Here for a conference this week and cant beat the $89 rate. read more

This is a beautiful property with a lot of things to do for the family. Along with the pool there is a playground also for the little ones to play. The rooms were clean with average beds. It was very easy to hear your neighbors on all sides of you, had to listen to one vomit all night. Beautiful view of the golf course and worth the extra money to have the view and patio. My biggest complaint for the service in the morning I had in the coffee. The waitress was very unhappy every time I went in there. However the food was great and the coffee needed some work. Nice place and great location, however, we never would have stayed here if we were told there would be construction everyday right above us. We were told they would stop at 5pm, well 5pm came and soon it was 6pm and the noise of saws and hammers never slowed down until about 7pm. We called the desk numerous times to complain and were told they would spot them each time. For a few hundred dollars a night I felt ripped off and they never offered compensation. Could not use the elevator several times because it was in construction use and thought it was a good thing we were not handicap and able to use the stairs. Went to use the pool and asked the desk for towels, as Woldmark offers large pool towels, and we were told to use our room towels. Oh! the rooms were nice but the shower sprays water all over the floor and we had to use the several towels to put on the bathroom floor. I dont think we will stay here again unless its through Woldmark at a bargin. Before booking ask about construction and if you book get extra towels for the bathroom floor and pool. read more
