Last time I was there $17 for 3 large bangers, mashed potatoes and an assortment of steamed fresh vegetables. Plus gravy. Come on. Excellent. They redid the outdoor patio last year and even though it's in a parking lot they did a nice job. Downside this location has been home to at least 2, maybe 3 failed restaurants before. John's came in and did a dust and clean repairs and paint. But you can't get away from the old restaurants. Oddly there is a second room that is large that used to have couple poor tables and a bunch of tables that only gets used for parties and occasional overflow for the main area. Washrooms for men is tiny and needs a makeover, so is the main area. Really dated decor. It's tough. Do you renovate and raise the prices to cover the costs or do try to keep costs down and keep the prices down? For this location it's starting to feel really worn. However the food is still great and we have even used it to cater a small party of 16 last year. I only took one star away because of the lack of any ambiance and the need of updates.

To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement to say the least. We walk in to find a very relaxed, comfortable environment, nothing fancy. Some booths, a nice bar, classic rock music playing, lots of TVs for sports and a friendly greeting upon our arrival. Great selection of beers and a big menu. We tried the burger (they put it together exactly the way I asked), the Grilled Vegetable Sandwich and an order of Buffalo Hot Wings. All were excellent and perfectly presented. The wings especially were great! Wings were huge, perfectly cooked, crispy, Buffalo hot sauce was spot on. At first glance, the pub looks small, but if you go towards the back of the restaurant, you'll see an open door to another section that has pool tables, more seating, a big screen TV and a cozy fireplace. So if you haven't tried Castle John's yet, it's time to check it out. Highly recommended!

I really felt like I was stepping into a pub, like a classic rugby players come here after games pub. They were setting up karaoke but we didn't partake. It was a bit hot (not miserable) so we ate out on their patio. The art was really pretty. We weren't sure what to order so when our server came around we asked them what they suggested. They told us the fish and chips were really good and so were the wings so my mom and I ordered that while my brother got Wings and sweet potato fries. The fish and chips were delicious, the fish was so crispy. My mom really liked the coleslaw and we both loved the chips (my mom ate them with ketchup and I dosed mine with vinegar). My brother really enjoyed his wings but his sweet potato fries were absolutely amazing. The servers were all really nice. I don't remember our server telling us their name but they had a pineapple tattoo on their hand and they were really attentive and friendly even though we were outside! We all really enjoyed this place! Would definitely come again if we weren't just traveling through.

Only 1 waitress serving the whole dining area so we had to wait until she appeared after 15 mins upon arrival. Philly Cheese Steak wasn't a bad option, Bread was soft, the BBQ sauce a little sweet but the beef were sliced thinly. Overall tasted a-OK. The pork schnitzel was a little bit of a disappointment. It was a little too thin that what we imagined, and a little small. Some parts were over-fried, giving it a little bitter taste. The veggies on the side were tastier than the main itself though they were over-boiled. Overall, it was definitely cheaper than the GTA, however it will be a first and last kind of thing for me.

They had a good selection of food to choose from and prices are pretty reasonable. Then it went downhill when we had to wait over half an hour for our food to come. I can understand if it was busy but it was pretty dead so I'm not so sure why it took so long to get our food. Their wets naps were totally not wet. When we opened one it was totally dry which makes you wonder how long it's been there. I definitely will not come back here. Wasn't too happy with the service. Food wise it was okay.

They accommodated all of our requests, we had asked for hot and honey sauce for the wings, and they were good with it. The wings were crispy, well sauced, large, and fresh! We also ordered calamari and the coconut shrimp, these two were pretty standard, but the wings, I really regretted not ordering two pounds, they were delicious! Our mains were salads. The Cobb was nice the chicken was cooked to perfection! The steak salad was also pretty good, nice cut of meat. What I really liked about this place was their choices of dressing, they let you know what dressings come with the salad, but give you the option to choose any of the dressings they offer. I can't wait to come back for our next visit. And the owner/chef came to check on us with food quality, and I thought this was just great! Our experience here was just delightful
