Oh dear. This part I don't like. I'm usually upbeat even when a place is subpar, but this place was not good. Here it is. The bad review. Apologies for the rambling ahead of time.
When I'm sitting with my family in a large group, and 5/10 people don't like their food, it's not a good sign. Let's break this down. 1 star for every thing listed that was at a minimum, a passing grade.
Service. 1 Star. Barely passable. The waitress was nice enough, for the most part. Attentive on drinks and appetizers, was always present, but things spiraled down hill on the main course.
Main Course. 1 Star. Barely a pass. Waited well over 30 minutes for average food. Our waitress was clearly abandoned by her management. If management was any good, they would have had a couple servers bring out all the meals at once. It seemed our waitress had to walk an entire block to get the meals. Each set of 3 or 4 plates were served what seemed 3-5 mins apart, forcing family to eat before it got cold, while waiting for others to get their food. That's one thing. Second, a simple request of 'no cheese' was not fulfilled. Also, not getting horseradish with a meal that requires horseradish, is disappointing. My wife and mother in law had two tiny pizzas that were overpriced, with undercooked ingredients. My sweet potatoe fries were soggy, thin and tasted like grease. With the very slow main meal service, and the average to subpar food, the waitress became defensive instead of apologetic when asked about why things were so slow. I'd imagine probably because of so many other patrons complaining. No real apology or discount offered.
The decor. 0 stars. Like another Yelper before me has mentioned quite perfectly, the decor is old, and the building seems delapitated. The colour alone is atrocious really. A few gallons of paint and a new paint job would spice this place up in no time.
Price. 0 stars. Paid over $60 including tip for a burger (Not fresh, I'd bet it was from a frozen package) with fries, half pint, two sodas, and two small personal (undercooked toppings) pizza. Seems pricey.
The Bar. 0 Stars. There's definite prospect for a positive change here, but it's....just bland and not exciting.
Overall I'd say don't expect anything Grande here. read more
