We came here after visiting a friend. We had the chicken burger, kids burger and fish tacos. The burgers were great, the Shirley temples were nice, more on the orange juice side but tasty and my kids really enjoyed them. My fish tacos was over fried and I had a lot of crumbles of fried bits than actual meat. I would not recommend the fish tacos. The ambiance is a pub styled and comfortable seating. The server was amazing!!! She was quick, welcoming, and so very nice. read more

Was a pretty busy friday night at Gerti's, but service was still great. Cocktails were perfect. Had the artichoke and asiago dip with grilled pita, very nice. We had the fish and chips and Dirty Bird, both were done just right and very tasty. Desserts were great too. Definitely returning to try more items on the menu! read more

Stopped in for a late lunch with my sister - not familiar with the restaurants in town, we read some reviews and decided to try Gertie's. We sat out on the back patio despite the heat. There was a nice breeze and enough shade to make it perfect. Our meals were tasty - I had the Warm Salad and it was tasty. Highly recommend this place if you find yourself in Peterborough. read more

For what it's worth, the food here is as decent as you'll get around Peterborough, and they have some interesting specials on. But I had perhaps the whitest curry I've ever eaten in my life. No spices, obviously a store bought sauce, and there might have been cheese in it?! I couldn't quite tell. read more

Just showed up randomly for dinner this weekend and we were so pleasantly surprised! The menu looked good but I was worried the food might not live up to the billing......well it did and more. We had the chicken supreme and rib eye special for our mains and both dishes were perfect. Just as good as anything we find in Toronto! Plus its less expensive. One thing though, the wine list (if you can call it that) had just 2 whites and two reds I think. It wasn't even printed. However they were 4 great wines, just not a lot of options. Delicious Food! Really friendly staff, and our food was out in a really timely manner, server was awesome and on the ball!

Gerti's is a good choice for lunch, dinner, a quick nibble or drinks. The sandwiches are are huge and come with generous portions of sides. For a quick bite we like to order the bruschetta which is a perfect light nibble for two. The sidewalk patio under the awning is great for people watching. The back patio is secluded and comfortable. The booths are more comfortable that the centre tables if you have the choice. On our last visit we sat at the bar and were impressed with how clean everything was - always a good sign. It's a fine place to bring kids for lunch or early dinner but it can get crowded and boisterous as the after-work and late night patrons file in. read more

The food is extremely average and way too overpriced. I have found pieces of who knows what, and strings of hair in my food here on multiple occasions. I have gone multiple times hoping it would get better, and it never does. The service is horrible, each waitress acts as if they have no time for you at all. The manager is snobby and conceited and uses his position of power to belittle others. The restaurant is nicely located, but the atmosphere is extremely average. We stopped on a Sunday afternoon after a bike ride for a couple of beers and decided to stay for an early supper. We shared a calamari appetizer which was good, and then ordered smaller entrees. He had mussels which are excellent, and I had a warm salad which consisted of grilled veggies, tender grilled chicken, feta and vinaigrette over baby greens. We both loved our meals, especially the grilled garlic toast that accompanied both dishes. Waitress was pleasant and service was excellent. Would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Gerti's earns its two stars for the front patio which gives you a great view of Hunter St, one of my favourite places for people watching in Ptbo. The food is the usual "pub" type food, with good-sized portions, but nothing really stands out. The service is lacklustre unless you know the wait staff. read more

Never been disappointed at Gerti's. The food is delicious and the drinks are pretty good. Try the fries with the cajun mayo. The warm salad is also good - some menu items are slightly overpriced but there are great deals in there as well (sandwiches especially). read more

Had a great night with co-workers here recently. Appetizers were excellent, drinks were all really good, main entrees were just 'ok' - the girls who ordered the veal dinner and some sort of a vegetable pasta dish were quite disappointed, and the fries in my dinner were definitely on the burnt side. Overall, a really nice place though, very upbeat atmosphere. Will go back. read more
