Wow, no thank you. Handmade Amish goat milk soap in Lancaster Co. near me is $4 for the same size. I'd rather support a family-owned local business at 1/5 the cost. But this is no different from most Hallmark stores. It just isn't really popular in a city like Brunswick where most people do not have much disposable income. For me the museum didn't amount to much, which is probably why its free of charge give away, but I found the Museum Gift Shop to be a nice place to pick up souvenirs, some really good quality items they refer to as being of the Jekyll Island Collection, books on the history of Jekyll Island Museum as well as some surrounding areas where you can view the old horse stalls of such notables as Joseph Pulitzer. This gift shop along with most of the others you'll find within the Jekyll Island Historic District are rather first class as opposed to the cheap stuff most often found in such tourist shops.
