The Lobby is the name for a business food hall with an outdoor seating area under cover, one in the sunshine and an indoor air conditioned area of seating as well.
It is in the heartland of the CBD so it caters to most dare I say 'sensible' tastes and opens pretty early for those who don't have breakfast at home but desire a snack before they start work, there are several different options for cake and coffee, along with sandwiches or modern wraps and simple plate dishes of food from the various vendors.
At least one of the stores caters for vegetarian and vegan diets, which is great (that is Lena's Cafe menu I've linked here) there is also a Thai/Chinese food stall called Indochina and the Uncaffe which specialises in fresh food and great coffee.
The general atmosphere is clean and somewhat trendy, not as prone to young people, toddlers, prams or prepubescents because it is located in a business area and mostly visited by workers but kids and the family wouldn't be unwelcome.
All in all it would be a great place to have a business lunch and otherwise a good spot to have a quick and tasty meal.
There are no fast food outlets here - another reason why there are scant young people and the main reason why I suggest it is frequented by people with sensible tastes. Most of the time you can eat and drink for around ten dollars.
It is very much a week day, no weekend trading venue and it is closed by 5PM so it's very much geared towards the business folk.
FYI - There's an ANZ handy bank at the Weymouth Street door entrance as well. read more
