This is a great…read moregift shop with heaps of really amazing carved wood and lots of other stuff, but it's the carved wood that is featured. Giant critters of all kinds. I was originally attracted to the big spiders for hanging on the wall, because they are kind of unusual and not so real they'd freak you out; upon closer inspection the shop is crammed full of all sorts of really wonderful odds and sods. Bangles, beads, book ends, wall hangings, candle sticks, sarongs, bags, a few baskets; all pretty much imported stuff from all over the place. Not too expensive and a great variety of things. African carvings and probably Indonesian, Indian, some Australian as well, I've been in several time and still see stuff I didn't notice the first and last time, if you get what I mean. It is a family business (as in wife and husband), so you can rely on them if you are looking for something unusual to help you out - they know their stock pretty well and since so much of it is wood they do a fair amount of polishing and keeping things fresh. I really like wood so I really enjoy having a look through this shop. Some items are quite small and then they vary in size through to really large features objects like elephants and giraffes. Its fun browsing and hard to visit without seeing something you want to take home, so be warned!

No, I am not a convert, I just like cool looking stuff and this place is jam packed to the brim with more funky gear than you could poke any number of sticks at! Perfect for finding a gift, you will be sure to pick up something for your Mum, Sisters, in laws and even the odd extraverted Uncle. As usual I was drawn toward the Oriental options and spied a couple of silk dressing gowns (sexy!). It goes to show that occasionally being dragged into a store by your girlfriend is a good thing.....never a shoe, dress or handbag store though....NEVER!

That's okay, I probably should have grown out of touching everything I see a few years ago. This is a great gift shop (if buying presents for women) because it has so many pretty, decorative things. I love the range of china pots with bold patterns and designs, as well as their range of cloth covered and embroidered notepads. My favourite cabinet holds the Bad Taste Bears, a range of little bear figurines doing all kinds of amusingly rude things, while still being very cute. Prepare for penis humour. They are one of the few things I'd buy for guys in this shop. The owner is very friendly, and lovely to have a chat with. All in all, this shop is a great experience.

If you're planning a trip to France soon, you may wanna check out the range of books here dedicated to the culture and travel of France. Flourish also stock skincare range from Mor and others that are deliciously good on the skin. Too bad you can't eat them! At every visit I make, the shop is bustling with activity and foot traffic. The name of the shop caught my attention, and I presumed it would be a poxy range of tourist items - and it certainly has plenty of these. However, if I was a tourist unprepared for an Australian summer, I would be quite happy to find a place like this. They sell thongs, hats, sunscreen, boardshorts and plenty of daggy t-shirts to keep the sun off. They also sell sunscreening moisturiser, tea tree soap and eucalyptus oil. Their range of hats is one of the best around the area. There are, of course, boomerangs and prints of aboriginal art for sale. They sell kids clothing saying cute things (as they always do) and plenty of fridge magnets and stuffed koalas. However, there is plenty in here that you might not expect, and it really is a very useful store.

Lending a whisical, dreamy and romantic ambience, this delightful giftstore has now become my favourite place to shop. I picked up a chocolate shaped teaspoon for my sister, to enjoy her daily delightful treats and a heady mix of jasmine and vanilla scented sachet to intoxicate my drawers. Cream bird cages and black framed Eiffel Towers lay outside the store for all to gaze and fall in love with. They are magnifique and will add much charm and character to any dull room. You'll find inspirational journals here, stunning jewellery holders, printed tea towels, linens, accessories, home decor and just about anything that would appeal to us women. The shop on Winston Avenue Melrose Park is open Monday to Saturday 9 - 5 and also provides a dry cleaning service. There are so many items in here and definitely not big shoulder bag territory, otherwise it'll be a very expensive visit. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of financial investment businesses such as this one make on their stock and when is it considered to be too much stock. A blend of folk art items to shabby chic, decorative outdoor wire love seats - which are going to be really hot stuff left in the sun!
