Just came back here recently to grab lunch on an impromptu car ride and we're never disappointed in The Little Store! The owner is so friendly and accommodating! She made us a great chicken cutlet and steak and cheese sub. Subs are huge we always have leftovers too! They had the most amazing homemade tuna Mac salad and lemon poppyseed muffins when we visited as well. I stopped by here for lunch today, just to grab something small. I've come here often in the morning to grab a hot tea (which you have to make and serve yourself) and a muffin. The muffins are quite great, if you are able to snag one in the morning, I'd say around 8am, while they are still warm and still there. They only make a few and they tend to sell out kind of quick. Well the good flavors do at least. Mmm that chocolate chip one. Today I came in for just a small container of tuna salad to try and I picked up some gum for after. The tuna was fresh and delicious, but about the same quality as I'd make at home. It only had mayo and celery in it. It looked as though the person scooping and serving me attempted to use an old pen to chicken-scratch something written on the masking tape on the container...maybe the cost amount? Tuna and gum came to around just below $5 oh and I just checked out the gum after I opened it and noticed it didn't taste the freshest. The "Best by" date is 4/2/2015. Today is 2/8/2017. Not cool. If you live in North Guilford, you know there aren't a ton of options for food. Usually, you have to head to Durham, or better yet, downtown Guilford. BUT the Little Store has everything you could possibly need in a pinch. When our Mother's Day plans were unexpectedly thwarted, we called The Little Store and asked if they could make us some sandwiches. Service was extremely friendly and fast, and we couldn't have been happier with our chicken salad sandwiches and meatball subs. The chicken salad, especially, was chock full! The menu isn't extensive, so don't expect to be able to order anything you want, but for what they have, it's very tasty. I also highly recommend their egg sandwiches. They have the squishiest, yummy rolls, and the eggs are always steaming hot. This is definitely a much-needed staple in the countryside. read more

The people working here seem really really nice which is why it pains me to say their pizza isn't very good. My guess is the dough from A & M Bronx Baking in New York isn't working for them. Why people feel it's necessary to advertise they get dough from 90 miles away is beyond me. People think New York and automatically think it MUST be good. Well the pizza from The Little Store flushes that theory down the toilet. Unfortunately the three best words to describe their crust is Pizza Hut crust. Pizza is only made on the weekends. Their deli counter is always available, but always is perhaps a poor choice of words because The Little Store has very limited hours. read more

The Little Store is exactly that, a little store. The food prep area in this store probably takes up more square footage than the "store" area. Service here was extremely fast and friendly. I really enjoyed the deli turkey served on my sub and the bread was fresh and really yummy. The store section was your typical chips, sodas, bubblegum convenience store, just highly condensed. It was clean and neat, just small. One thing I would change is that, while I enjoy sesame seeds, I know some whom do not like them. I was not asked if I wanted sesame seeds on my sub bread which leads me to believe that it's possible that all the subs have sesame seeds on them. Or maybe it was all they had left for that day? Either way, I think plain bread is a more popular choice and customer would appreciate being asked what they prefer. All in all, a very positive experience and I'd definitely go back for a nice lunch when I'm in the area. read more

This place far exceeded our expectations. We had a funeral on short-notice and The Little Store was extremely responsive. We were all traveling from other states, and I asked that it be as easy as possible for us. They recommended the right quantity of food, and the food was amazing! it is a really little store. i drive by here every day i work. usually i have breakfast at home but decided to try to grab something here for a change. parking lot was packed at 830am .. about 10 zombie like people inside and 1 person making food, nobody acknowledged i walked in and the zombies were pretty much making it impossible for me to figure out what they offered for food here or how to order, so i left. crowded so it must be ok, or it could be the only thing on this road for 5 miles in either direction. check it out when the parking lot is empty. read more

We love the little store for the following reasons. Great breakfast sandwiches. I pop in when I am driving the kids to school for a coffee and sandwich. The people are always friendly and the coffee is hot. Me and my son Evan pop in for chicken cutlet sandwiches at lunch. They have bagels but I particularly like that they bake muffins fresh each morning. there is a rumor that they are going to do pizza...we can only hope! read more

This place is great. Breakfast sandwiches have historically been their forte. Lunch is a good solid meal, but basic (unless they are running a special or have made a soup.. but I'll come back to that), and they have recently added pizza in the evenings, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. The pizza is over the top. For a deli that is, for all intensive purposes, in the middle of nowhere, the food here is very good, and very reasonable. I think their bread comes from somewhere in NYC, so that is definitely a selling point for anything you would order with a roll. Like I said earlier, the breakfasts are really good. They will make any sandwich you want to order at any time if they have the ingredients. Lunch is a solid deli menu with lots of fresh col-cuts and some pasta salad options, but in the fall and winter seasons they seem to step it up with lunch specials, soup options, and so forth. The soups, when they have them are worth stopping in for. Finally, like I said before, the pizza is new, but has not been a let down. They have some pizzas you will not find anywhere else that are off-shots from their lunch and breakfast menus.
