The house tour was nice. The house doesn't have much original furniture, but it is period appropriate and the guides are very knowledgeable about the furniture and the house as a whole. I'm sure the normal tours are better than the festival ones, as there were so many people and not much time. It is definitely worth the time and small admission fee to tour this house and property.

Luckily, I was able to schedule a car pretty quickly. Tim W., co-owner and operator, handled my questions and offered clear explanation of the price, policy and procedures. The price was quoted was the price I paid without any extraneous fees. Tim W. was very knowledgeable about traffic patterns so I was able to schedule a pickup time that significantly reduced the traffic delays others experienced getting to the venue. (Because I listened to him, we avoided sitting in traffic for hours behind a car accident and several stalled vehicles.) Once we arrived at the stadium, he parked in the lot that was near an exit so we were able to leave the stadium complex with ease. Tim W. was personable, polite, and professional. He arrived on time and had cool bottled water on hand. I highly recommend using Boulevard Limousine for all your transportation needs while you are in KC. Should I return to KC, I will definitely use this company again.

In fact, they were often downright rude and annoying--especially the front desk at night and early morning. I was allergic to the hand soap provided, so I went down to the shop just off the lobby to see if they sold any other. They did not, but they thought the sister hotel (Aloft) might, so they sent me on a long walk of a wild goose chase to that connected hotel--a good staff would have called over to the sister hotel to check for me first. The staff at Aloft was much nicer and far friendlier, but they still had no soap. Even though Aloft is a different concept, it looked interesting, and we will probably select that hotel over this one next trip, just based on the staff. We asked for a late checkout at the front desk (late at night) while checking in. They said they put it in the computer, but the morning staff began bugging us at the usual checkout time because the night staff hadn't entered the late checkout in the system at all. And they were rather rude about the entire issue. We went exploring the area in the morning. I had a business call and didn't quite make it back to the room in time because my key had stopped working by the time we returned. We called down on the phone in the hall near the elevator on our floor (another guest let us up to the floor). Again, the front desk staff was curt and seemed bothered by our request. They called the security or management (can't remember which) person who just happened to be on the floor, walking down the hall in the opposite direction from our room. We heard the radio call, with the front desk calling us a rather insulting name over the radio. And the person on the floor said they would deal with it "in a bit." Since we heard the call, we called after them that that was us, and we did indeed need to get into the room sooner rather than later. They told us, as we were let in, that even for an approved late checkout, one needed to go back downstairs to the front desk in the morning to get a new key before the normal checkout time. That's a new one on us (long-time lifetime elite-tier Marriott Bonvoy members). Also, we left an item (iPhone) in the room by accident on our departure, and tracing it down entailed six or seven phone calls back to the hotel, being extremely insistent with the people answering the phone, and being transferred multiple times to different people, only to be disconnected. They also told us to use a website to report it as a left item at the hotel, but the site wasn't working. When we called back about that, they finally took our report and called us a short while later to say they found the item. It should not have been this difficult. Rooms are comfortable but smallish. But if you are going to run a boutique (Tribute Collection) luxury hotel, then your staff needs to be top-tier. Not what this staff is.

I can not say enough about how terrible this service was for my honeymoon planning. They…read morerepresented themselves at the KC Bridal show, as a honeymoon gift fund service with no service fee. Apparently that service is a side note to the travel agency and NOT well managed. First, the website did not have a search option to look up the bride and groom by name, only scroll through months of pictures and click on it. Then, the site, when used on an android phone, did not show the whole site on screen. Myself and one of my guests worked with their IT department to explain this and walk them through what needed to change from a mobile device view. I contacted the rep on a Saturday for a working link to print on my invites. The whole team was "at Sandals in Jamaica for a training trip and could not respond for several days". How nice for them. Then, my guests were not getting confirmations that their gifts were posted to our account. Every guest that called me, and I asked the rep about, eventually showed up on my spread sheet, bit not until I asked about it. How many of our guests did not mention the issue to us? Some even double posted gifts, which I personally refunded them. The owner, Jill, suggested I send out an email to my guests walking them through the process of the registry on line! How embarrassing, I did NOT do this. So Jill asked for a list of my guest mails so she could send them directions. Previous reviews on their site said they used a bride's guest emails to hound them with advertising their travel agency and had to call to complain for this to stop. I wonder how many dollars in gifts DID NOT make it to our account, my guests assuming the registry had no glitches. Lastly, after booking our hotel and rental car we had over $1500 left in our registry. I had to ask Jill 3 times when and how we would get these gifts back from them. I opened a Venmo account as Jill told me, so she could transfer the funds. I emailed, called, texted her and my rep for 10 days before my trip for this transfer to take place. The night before our flight left, I still had not gotten the transfer. Jill TEXTED me surprised and said she would look into it. 7PM the night before my honeymoon the funds were transferred. Jill's response to me by text was, "Phew!!" No call, no explaination, no customer service, no taking responsibility for SO MUCH stress this caused me. What a nightmare and stress this company caused me every step of the way in planning my honeymoon. My guests have chosen to refer to them as "Suitcase of Nightmares" and "Suitcase of Screams". Please learn from my bad judgment and use a honeymoon registry that charges the 4 % up front fee, and transfers money directly to you. I did not even mention the problems with the hotel reservation that they made for me. I should have done this all myself.
