Bacon waffles, double poached egg and black pudding, hass avocado on sourdough.

Spent the best lazy Sunday in here recently! Outdoor area over looks the lido and is so relaxing. Breakfast menu was delicious. Family and dog friendly without it being overcrowded. Did have to wait 15 mins for a table as we hadn't booked @ 11:30 on a Sunday morning. Breakfast, brunch and lunch food came out all looked like it would not disappoint. Would go back immediately for a quiet catchup with friends or family.

Food generally good except for cold, dry chips, but the service exceptionally rude and cold with attitude.

Fantastic place to eat in the summer - they have a great terrace to sit in the sun by the pool. Food is good and it's dog friendly.

I like the Railway tavern for several reasons. I came here for Sunday lunch after the this and…read moreTulse Hill Hotel were closed/ stopped serving food.... At 8.30pm on a Sunday. Their loss. Tavern is great for many reasons as you'll read in other reviews. Cool conservatory style outside seating little outside huts, table tennis. Nice bunch of people/regulars. We went on open mic night which was great and sitting outside in the conservatory (which sound cold but isn't!) meant it didn't really disturb us. The food was great, although a little on the Luke warm side which was a shame. The staff were great, funny and interactive. The only weird thing really was that one of the group members went up to the bar to order. They said its table service and wouldn't take the order. Well.... No one came to the table, until we had to call them and then they never really came back. I think they'd be better suited just sticking to the pub tradition of goof up to the bar to order. Seemed very bizarre to offer table service... But not really offer it properly.

Lovely pub with nice atmosphere! I really like coming to this place when I don't have anything to…read moredo or if I'm planning to watch a football or rugby match. The staff is very nice, they have 2 terraces where you can have something to drink or eat and loads of TVs to watch the sports. They also have live music with indie bands who play during some weekends (but not all of them, check the schedule!). Food is also really good. They have some snacks like chicken nuggets, sweet fried potatoes and then hamburgers, meat or salads. You can also pop over during Sunday's because they have an amazing Sunday roast!

I have some friends who live near this hidden gem of a pub. It has recently (just before Christmas)…read morebeen taken over by new owners who have transformed it from a shabby (and slightly dodgy) establishment into a beautiful, modern and friendly family pub. Even dogs are allowed! The decor is comfortable and fabulous, the food is good value and very tasty (they do a range of superb pizzas and tapas or mezze-style snacks). The owners and staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to be polite and ensure you have a good time. They also have a great selection of drinks with some lovely wines, again, all reasonably-priced. The best thing about this place, though, is the fact it feels like a comfortable living room at a mate's house. They have plenty of sofas, a log fire and a pile of board games to complete the vibe. It gets fairly busy on weekends, but nothing like the crowded, noisy inner city pubs. Perfect for whiling away a Sunday afternoon with some friends. They have just opened an outside terrace too, which is lovely, and they have a room that can be hired out for events. It is such a good find and so unspoilt by overcrowding that I am almost reluctant to share the info with anyone. But, seriously, if you find yourself in the Dulwich/Crystal Palace/Herne Hill area of town, head on over. You will not be disappointed.

We've just moved close to this place, so I am happy to call it our local!…read moreI love it's dog friendly policy (despite a woman loudly shouting about it last Saturday night, sssssh woman!) and we stayed there all night eating and playing board games, it was great! We really out stayed our welcome but the bar staff were really kind, which we so appreciate. The Pizza and Beer deal is such a good option - you get a drink and a delicious homemade pizza (you can choose for it to be gluten free!) for £10. I don't eat steak but I keep raving about the steak deal to people - a bottle of wine, steak and chips for £25 for two!!! Really excited to try the roast as I imagine it will be awesome. Will let you know.

Since my last review of this place, I've come to enjoy the quaint and cozy nature of it. As a…read moretourist, you do often expect more excitement and novelty from your visits. But, as a local, you usually just want a clean and warm place within walking distance that serves decent drinks, (hopefully) decent food, and has a few TV's set up throughout the space to watch whatever games are in season at the moment. I'm happy to say, this place ticks all those boxes. The seating is comfortable, the staff is friendly, the vibe is definitely suburban-local, and given that it's in the 'burbs, it doesn't get too rowdy or crazy, making it both pet and family-friendly. The drinks are modest, but plentiful. You won't have the best cocktail you've ever tried in your life, but it'll do in a pinch. The beers they have on tap are a healthy combination of local brewery and big name booze like Guinness or Estella. I will also say, given the size of the burgers and Sunday Roast on the menu, you won't be leaving hungry if you come here for dinner.
