In Vancouver, you will never see a store that sells just nuts and treats like the one you fine here. I am surprised that in Calgary there is a store like this. I mean its common to see a candy store but not a nut store. So at work had a fire and we were to meet at Bow Valley Square. We came here to browse and decided to go inside The Nut Man Company for some treats. Only issue is that selection is somewhat limited. Prices are reasonable We got some rice cracker treats. For those of you who have never experienced Nut Man, we're talkin' all the delicious gourmet specialty snacks you loved as a kid, and continue to love now. They've got chocolate covered pretzels, cajun peanuts, wasabi peas, Cajun mix, yogurt raisins, chocolate jujubes, corn chips, beef jerkey, pumpkin seeds, banana chips, and the list goes on and on. I know right?!?!? I'm salivating too. I love surprising people with Nut Man company goods because everyone loves them, but a lot of people figure that the only place they'll find such an assortment of snacks is in a duty free shop at the airport. I was looking for a fairly convenient licensing company to get my learners, drivers and car registration. And when comparing rates on the phone, I found TLC to be the most reasonable. The girl on the phone seemed very friendly and was extremely informative, I called her several times with many small questions and every time she was kind and very efficient. This location is just off the terminal line, just a block walk and in a not so busy mall. The line-up is short and quick here, and they seem to get the proper papers put through fairly fast. I still needed to fax in an insurance document to them and they were still fine in processing all my papers. So basically their trust in me saved me a trip home and back. I was served by Grumpasaurus Rex, the long lost dinosaur. She lives! At The Licensing Company! In Bow Valley! This is your run of the mill registry place EXCEPT, it's CONVENIENTLY located in Bow Valley Square for your car registering and Alberta Health Services needs. That's a pro, another pro is that if you go before 11 am you're laughin. Line ups move quickly and are short. After lunch you're toast. They do not accept credit, (this might be standard) so when you pay with debit you must also pay a .50 cent fee. Dumb. I hate that. I should've tried to pay with food stamps or buttons. Everyone who loves nuts, raise your hands! The Nut Man is like a gift from the nut god to nut lovers everywhere. Nuts are healthy and nutritious and make a great snack, but the selection at most convenience stores is both limited and expensive. Luckily, the Nut Man is located conveniently downtown, AND they have agreements with a number of companies to do in house visits. Sapna G. has done a great job summarizing all of their offering,s but I'll let you know my personal favourites. I love the chocolate covered pretzels. I adore the macadamia nuts. I can't get enough of the cashews (especially the cajun ones). The store pops popcorn too, so when walking the plus fifteens you can smell the nutman from far away. My only issue with them is with gifting their products. If I don't wrap up the bags rightaway, then I can't help myself and end up cracking it open and having to find something else. The Nut Man is the gift you give yourself, unless you give it away right away. They also carry a variety of party trays that go over really well in Christmas parties. read more

The Nut Man is a fantastic locally owned confectionery in Bow Valley Square. With over 70 different edible items, most of which are under $5, it's hard to select just one! Which I suppose is why they almost always offer deals on multiple bags of their favourite items. Every holiday they deck out the store with all the trimmings, including stuffed animals and tons of great gift ideas and stocking stuffers. And of course, they have a ton of seasonal candy, which is always a hit as gifts with my family out east. I particularly love their assorted caramels, which are pre-wrapped and come in flavours such as dulce du leche, chocolate, and vanilla. I find their gummy candy to be a bit waxy, and yet I didn't stop eating until they were done, so who am I kidding? Whenever I walk by, I pick up one of their dollar deals for a mixed bag of candy, which gives me a chance to try different candies that I've never had before. I am also addicted to the cajun peanuts - I can easily eat a whole bag in a sitting! read more

No. This is the worst place in the world, They wouldn't let me get a new registration when I had all my documents because they didn't know what they were doing and claimed the insurance company was in the wrong, they told me I had to wait until my current insurance ended before starting a new one (wouldn't let me pay for 2 at once). Then they kept my bill of sale and gave me the copy which is useless so I have to get a new one which is a very long process because I'm only 18 and it's under my dads name and he can't come with me because he works, anyways this place sucks and I hate them. My dad also had to call and they admitted they made a bunch of mistakes and they were sorry but I don't accept their apology cause that's not gonna save me an hour of time I just lost. don't go here also i hope he gets fired. read more

The Nut Man store is great, but the mobile Nut Man can generate a mob! If you're one to work at a business where The Nut Man drops by once per month, you'll know what I'm talking about (unless your office is full of hum drums). When I was one of those lucky people, my favorite go-to snacks were the yogurt pretzels, peanut butter pretzels and the corn chips with flax. Prices may seem a bit high, but when you're feeling lazy, you pay for it. Three cheers for delivery! read more

I went to The Licensing Company on Feb 14, 2019 to have documents witnessed and signed by a Commissioner for Oaths for a land title transfer in Saskatchewan. The documents were signed and I was charged $71.00. Saskatchewan Land Titles rejected the documents and they were returned to me for signing. I returned to The Licensing Company to re-sign the documents in April but they informed at that time that they cannot sign documents for Saskatchewan and they referred me to a Notary. On my own, I found a different Notary and had the documents signed at which time they recommended that I return to The Licensing Company for a refund because a Commissioner for Oaths should know the limitations of their Commission (out of province is not recognized). I returned to The Licensing Company for a 3rd time on May 1, 2019 and asked for a refund but was rejected. I would not call this a reputable business. read more

1)I called the Licensing company(Bow Valley branch), Calgary for information on documents required for changing number plate of the car and later because of the incomplete information provided I had to go back home and get materials again 2) Me and my husband went for getting Drivers License. Since I work farther than this place and they are only open on weekdays, my husband who works near to the building went and waited in the queue. I managed to reach there by the time they had started working on my husband's application. They refused to accept my application as I was not in queue while my husband was. When I requested them their manager came and rudely said to stand in line. When I asked for service form she refused to give it and said she will call security. I felt so disappointed, angry and insulted. The Manager is completely rude and doesnot have any manners to talk to the customers. In short, they can make us come again and again for their stupid mistakes, while they are lazy not to give you service. I would have still felt better if they were atleast polite and courteous. Please avoid this branch. read more

It seems that the previous two posts had a similar experience to mine. I too, had a mixed experience. It was a Monday and I had visited another registry company on the weekend but they couldn't resolve my licensing questions, presumably because it was the weekend and they couldn't access all of their information sources. On Monday I went in to visit the, for me, very conveniently located TLC. In my case I was happily dealing with one of the counter staff and Grumposaurus (a more senior staff member) needed to lend some additional information. In the end she gave me the impression that I was trying to manipulate the system by visiting more than one registry to get my problem resolved. That accusation was just plain weird and entirely unwarranted. I was looking into registering a vehicle for a charitable organization for which I do some volunteer work and she also concluded that they were going about their vehicle registration in entirely the wrong way and insinuated that they didn't know what they were doing. In the end, the charities process was just fine and it was she who didn't know her business! Ooooh, very frustrating... Without going into a lot of other detail (which would take another thousand words), it was all-in-all an unpleasant experience! That said, the lady that I was dealing with initially was quite pleasant but couldn't make up for the overall distasteful experience. 5 stars for her, -3 stars for Grumposaurus. read more

We have been to this company twice and have had nothing but terrible service! We have moved to Calgary from the maritimes and had gone in to get our Alberta license. We had been warned by others that they will often write that you have a beginners license, even though you have been fully licensed for multiple years. Knowing this, we specifically stated that we had a full license, as they reassured us that we would receive a full license. I also asked about getting my registration switched, as I had read online that an inspection that has not exceeded 90 days from another province would exempt you from getting an Out of Province Inspection. I was however told that I was incorrect. Upon receiving our new license in the mail two weeks later, my boyfriend's came back as GDL (a beginners license). I had also emailed Alberta Transportation to confirm what I had read about my NB inspection being accepted, which they responded that I was correct and they gave contact information for the registry agent to contact if they were still giving me a difficult time. Upon returning to the registry, I was once again told I was wrong. I stated that I read this online and was also in contact with Alberta Transportation. They then bobbed their head with attitude and stated "Ummm no. You're wrong." I then stood my ground and handed them a copy of the email and told them "Actually yes, here is the copy of the email, and there is a number you can call if you have any issues with this." The lady then handed it over to another worker to call since she never "Called for inspection approval before". The lady then proceeded with attitude in the meantime, informing us she would be getting out the policy manual. She read through a few with attitude trying to say they applied to us, such as "You'll find this interesting...Any Alberta resident who moved to another province and had an inspection done, requires an out of province inspection upon returning to Alberta" , we told her that this did not apply to us as we have never resided here before. It was a huge fight with the staff instead of calling the contact in the beginning, as she did end up finding the exemption that I was able to use in her policy book. They then waited for 10 minutes while doing nothing before calling the contact, and then stated "Bad news, they closed two minutes ago!" So because of their lack of customer service, I am approaching the 90th day of my inspection before I need an out of province one. This has been nothing but a terrible experience. We then tried to get my boyfriend's license fixed to a full license, in which they basically stated that he was not telling the truth and shouldn't be fully licensed. After fighting with them, they went into the back and found his NB license as it had not been shredded yet, once again stating that we were correct and that it was indeed a full license. They said they would have to fax it to someone and then they would be able to fix it; however since they were closing in 10 minutes, they weren't going to do it that day. This has been a terrible experience (Both times that we have gone), and also did not enjoy the rude comments by the staff such as "Ughh, don't people have anything better to do on a Friday at 4:00pm than come here?!? I would never recommend this company to anyone! read more

Terrible. Waited in line 40 minutes to finally talk to an agent only to discover that the "computers were down" and therefore they couldn't issue driver's licenses. When I asked how long they were down for they replied "oh, a few days now". Okay, so apparently if you wait a few days then the computers will magically fix themselves. Totally makes sense. Hopefully the magic computer fixing fairy will visit them soon. At lease let people waiting in line know what the issues are so they can leave and not waste their time. read more

As with most registries, this place only accepts debit/cash, which is fine, however, this place charges an extra $0.50 for debit transactions. There is no sign saying so, they wait until you are actually at the machine already in the process of paying to spring it on you. They are making extra money on debit transactions, which I think is a very shameful way to squeeze a few extra cents out of their customers. It's not 50 cents I care about, its honesty and integrity, which this place lacks. read more
