It's a dinky little shop with a bell that rings when a customer arrives. It is one of the smallest shops in the city yet has so much stuff for sale. As the name suggests it sells little gifts, wrapping paper, cards and luxury stationary. It also has some more random things too like mugs, jewellery and joke-shop style gags. It sounds like a bit of a mix-mash of things but if you're in the area it's worth a trip to pick up some lovely cards and gift bags. It always smells like perfume or incense and the ladies working there are very sweet, all older women who are really helpful and pleasant. It's always on my list of places to go on the run up to Christmas and never has the festive queues or elbowing that you get in department stores this time of year.

I know I'm in Oddballs when my phone rings and I answer my wallet because I'm trying to concentrate on the store clerk moving back and forth on a unicycle while I'm trying Chinese yo-yos with one hand. Then a clerk outside the door makes a huge bubble with some sort of O ring and soapy liquid; and I drop everything in an effort to find the bubble and pop it. Oddballs, in addition to their unicycles and Chinese yo-yos have kites, juggling balls and skateboards both normal and excessively long. They even have off-road skateboards. It's a high-energy heaven, and kudos must be presented to the talented and capable staff members who are always on hand to show you how things work. Their job interviews must be amongst the most interesting this world will ever see.

It was our 7th and last night in London, and the other bars near us were showing the England Futbol game & was packed with tons of people. This was the only one that seemed calm, so we walked in. I was surprised at how nice it was inside: wooden bookcases with games. People at the tables actually playing board games! How cool was that. Unfortunately, we were there mainly to feed our 5.5 year old son & get something to eat ourselves, so we turned down the $9 fee per person to play games. I ordered Nachos Grande with pulled pork. The pork was great, and I think it would have been delicious in a sandwich. My husband ordered the Ribsteak double cheeseburger, which he liked. There was a kids' menu, and my kid had their cheeseburger, fries, and ice cream. Everything was devoured. For dessert, I asked for the Sticky Toffee Pudding, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The server was amazing; he gave us some kid friendly games to try "on the house." He took the time to explain how each game is played. I would probably never buy these games in the future, but it was fun trying them out!

This place has so many awesome things going for it so I hope the shop can take the time to give the board games the love they need.

I don't frequent it as much as I previously did, but I came back here as it was free comic book day (who can turn down free comics?). Because of those free comics, it was fairly busy today, but it was still tidy and well stocked despite this. The chaps behind the counter are always friendly and eager to help - and this was the same as always as even though someone couldn't find the Flash comics on display, one of them took the customer to the comics (rather than just point him at the "F"'s on display). It seemed a little emptier in the middle than I remember, but that might just be because they were expecting a crowd and cleared out some display tables to make it easier to move around. Credit to them if they thought of that. Calamity and Forbidden Planet are the only two comic shops in London as far as I'm concerned.
