I've been shopping at Calamity for a fair few years now, since the old location (although that seems like an age ago). I don't frequent it as much as I previously did, but I came back here as it was free comic book day (who can turn down free comics?).
Because of those free comics, it was fairly busy today, but it was still tidy and well stocked despite this. The chaps behind the counter are always friendly and eager to help - and this was the same as always as even though someone couldn't find the Flash comics on display, one of them took the customer to the comics (rather than just point him at the "F"'s on display).
It seemed a little emptier in the middle than I remember, but that might just be because they were expecting a crowd and cleared out some display tables to make it easier to move around. Credit to them if they thought of that. Calamity and Forbidden Planet are the only two comic shops in London as far as I'm concerned. read more
