Very unresponsive and unreliable. Worst leasing group!! Do not recommend AT ALL. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible.

DON'T lease or purchase properties from the Lester group. They are only protecting the interest of the property owners. My lease agreement advised that I needed to have my carpet professionally cleaned. I complied with that request. Only to have another deduction for professionally cleaning taking from deposit after I moved out. When I initially moved in I discussed my concerns with the looks of the walls in the property and the carpet not appearing to look clean only to have both amounts taking from my deposit. When I address my concerns with a rep with the lester group I was advised the owner request that the carpet was cleaned again. The owner actually need to have the carpet replaced. I called a second time to confirm that before moving out and property manager assured that I only needed to provide the receipt. This company is horrible save yourself and your money don't work with the Lester Group. read more

The Lester Group - Real Estate Services Near Me - Bryan, Texas

The Lester Group is the most unresponsive, absent group of "property managers" I've ever had the displeasure of working with. I have regularly called them or emailed them over the last two years, worked something out with one person, thought it was handled, and then been told that TLG has no idea that conversation happened. Maintenance requests are REGULARLY ignored. Promises have been made quarterly, if not monthly, that are broken or not followed up with. I'm honestly not sure I've ever contacted the same person twice, so it can't be a very good place to work. When we had an electrical issue with a ceiling fan, they told us not to turn it on because it might be dangerous. Then they left it for a month. When I had an emergency with the plumbing and contacted them, they wouldn't even get someone on the phone with me for five or six hours. When we told them the windows were leaking, they left it for months. The home we're in, 4011 Willow Oak Dr., is falling apart. We've had water leaking inside the home several times in several places. The converted garage rooms are completely unusable in the winter and summer because they are so poorly insulated. When we moved in the place was dirty and torn to hell. They obviously took the last tenant's deposit and then simply did not clean up or fix anything. There was garbage left in the cabinets. Cabinets were broken, a big dog had scratched the hell out of everything, a terrible paint job had been done, the place had clearly been heavily smoked in. They installed the carpets wrong, so that doors being opened and closed for two years have left the carpet coming apart next to the thresholds. The floors are sloped in places. Water pools next to the house in the driveway. There's holes in the roof that wasps get into. They glued all of the thresholds between laminate and tile wrong, so literally all of them have come up. There's no gutters in the backyard so the runoff digs a big ol' ditch out there. Finally, it's not TLG's fault, but in the interest of being as petty as them, the neighbor puts their dog outside for an hour or more every night between 8:30-10:30, and it is very loud. They actively make it difficult to contact them. Their portal is the only way to get maintenance requests in, and maintenance requests in there are only fixed if they're a problem which might destroy the house. Even then, it's not dealt with quickly. They ignore emails. Phone calls are routed to a call center which does not forward the messages. Phone calls, texts, or emails to members of their team are obviously not written down or compiled in any way so that other employees can understand what's happening. They offered to let us out of the lease 3 weeks early through email, and then without any warning whatsoever, they backed out of that. They said we and our ex-roommates (who we told TLG had left) didn't sign quickly enough. Realistically it's because they can't find anyone to rent the place. (Good for the renters in this area, tbh.) The pictures on Zillow and their site are from before we moved in (and based on how it looked when we moved in, they must have been taken before the previous tenant, so they're at least four years old.) They want $2000/mo, can you imagine? I'm sure they'll take our deposit (which, a $1400 deposit should have been a big ol' red flag for me, granted), despite us treating this place well. We've paid $33600 for these folks to sit on their hands. And they're hoping to get $24000/yr from the next people. Extra housing costs (utilities, gas, internet, pest control, lawn) end up running $6000/yr at this place, and that's with trying not to use the heat too much in the winter or the ac too much in the summer. We basically ignore the two converted garage rooms because they get so hot and cold. Honestly I can't believe the owner is okay using them as property managers. I wouldn't trust them with my watch, much less my house. read more

I would give them a negative rating if I could. This company is so horrible, they are liars and completely stupid. I could go on about the many issues with maintenance and the payment situation. But there are lots of other reviews about that. I want to talk about getting our security deposit back. Me and my roommates worked so hard cleaning the house. It looked better than when we received the house, our neighbors on the other hand (we are very close friends with and they were with this company as well). It is the exact same house layout, and these frat boys left it disgusting they didn't even bother moving their furniture out of the house, holes in the walls, absolutely disgusting. We both got the exact same amount of the security deposit back!!! WHAT THE HELL and they don't list out the individual charges which I'm pretty sure is not allowed. This was worst place i ever stayed at in college station. please stay away from them, they are liars and VERY unprofessional. I couldn't wait to leave these property managers, we moved out July 31st and they told us our deposit will be sent to us in 30 days and its been 2 months now and they kept lying to us saying that they were working on it. When i lived there at the beginning of the year my hot water did not work and i put so many maintenance request and they never got answered and no one ever came out to help. I have never felt the need to review anywhere before, because I usually believe that if you have a less than great experience there are usually extenuating circumstances. But that's how truly awful my experience was with this group. Everyone should steer as clear as possible from this leasing company. I lived in a townhouse property they managed for 2 and a half years, and ALL 3 SUMMERS the AC broke. Ok, that's understandable in Texas. But when it breaks in the middle of July, most places will help you out by giving you in unit window AC's or something right? I had to stay in my house the first summer for over 7 days with the inside of the house at 102 degrees Fahrenheit before I had to make MORE calls and get other people involved in calling them before they brought in the unit ACs. My cat ended up having health issues and I had to take him to the vet because the house was too hot. The second year they brought them in sooner, but it was only "fixed" for 3 days before it broke again because they didn't replace the AC, only patched whatever was broken when I talked to the repair man when he came back. The 3rd year, they had to order a part and brought in the unit ACs, but again no apology for not responding for so long. The ACs alone were a solid reason I would NEVER suggest them to anyone who I didn't hate, but that wasn't the only issue. Every time we submitted a work order, for things like our front door not shutting properly or locking properly, an actual SAFETY ISSUE, no response. It took them months to get back to us after numerous calls. We also had an issue with our stove not turning off properly, where we had to turn the actual power off in the fuse box to get it to turn off and again, months before they got back to us and only after so many calls on my part. On top of all the issues that came up from living in one of their properties, they had horrendous service. It took months to ever hear back from them, and half the time they would say that things were fixed that weren't, with no apology for it. It's definitely not worth leasing from this company. Look elsewhere no matter how nice the property is or how low the price is. On top of that, when they switched resident portals where you pay your rent, they didn't have the company they used before close all accounts, so I got an email, 4 months after I moved out, saying that I owed over $11000 in back rent and when I called to make sure that it wouldn't affect my credit it took 3 calls and an email to get a response and their only response was "it's not our company so call them directly." read more

The Lester Group is a joke and their property managers are beyond lazy. Me and my roommates were overcharged for rent back in August (it is now May) and we have consistently been reaching out to them trying to get the issue fixed for 4 months now and we keep being told it'll get fixed and it never does. Someone finally told us it would be fixed May 3rd, then after it wasn't I reached out again and I was told I would get a call back on the 13th to get it taken care of (I of course never got a call back), and then after reaching out again I was also told it would be taken care of today, May 24th, and again it wasn't. And just now when I asked if anyone had gotten a chance to review our ledger, all they had to say was "Not yet." Every time i've been on the phone with our property manager Kristi, she's extremely passive aggressive and unwilling to help. My roommates and their parents have all had similar interactions with her. It's become beyond evident that they don't intend on fixing the issue they created. Would not recommend this group to anyone. The other bad reviews don't surprise me. Even when we've needed maintenance done at our property, they've been the same way. My dog tore up a patch of my carpet and they had sent someone out to look at it and I was told I would get a call back from the Lester Group telling me what I needed to do going forward to get it replaced, and again, never heard back. My carpet 3 months later is still not patched. We had to call numerous times to get them to send someone out to replace our downstairs blinds that my roommates dog tore up. It took over 2 weeks for that to be taken care of, after complaining that we felt unsafe because we live on a busy street and people could literally see directly into our house at night. I also had to call numerous times because that same roommate never got charged for a pet deposit. I was trying to resolve the issue and was spoken to like it was my fault and was told that we all should've been charged a fine since my roommate didn't do so when she first got the dog, even though she had told them she had gotten a dog, the paperwork was just never processed on their end.
