Very disappointed. Don't rent with equity management. They are full of BULLSHIT. THEY don't care about nothing but money. We signed a lease with them on August 1st and moved in on the 23rd of the month. They were supposed to fix everything before we moved in but they never did they lied to us and took us for granted. Then evicted us because we told them about their bullshit. Their upstairs floor was bumpy when we viewed the home. Told them to fix it before we moved in and other issues like the leaking faucet in the bathroom upstairs. That we found out about after we had the utilities turned on. They claim that they can't fix it because they don't have the money. We only been here for two months and we are already leaving this place because they can't hold up their end of the issue. This real estate company does not conduct their business to service or care for renters. Everything they do is geared toward their own profit and success. From sneaky wording in their contracts with hidden details, such as ONE PERSON can sign to re-commit ALL the people living in the unit, for the NEXT YEAR... making all parties financially responsible for rent for another year?! Really?? Of course to sign the original contract, each person had to sign along with a guarantor. AND they want a commitment to re-lease 5 months before the lease expires. Oh- and be careful when you sign the lease, because it's not a year lease... its 11 1/2 months... so you have to move out 2 weeks before your lease should be up and good luck finding a new place that will rent to you starting in the middle of the month. Do not rent from this company... they are unprofessional and everything they do is for their gain. In my opinion, they are taking advantage of young college students and manipulating them to sign and abide by non-industry standard contracts, so they and their property owners can profit. read more

DO NOT LIVE IN AN EQUITY PROPERTY. PEROOD. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Equity is the WORST real estate management company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Before moving in, the agent who was helping me finalize the lease quit and moved to a whole new city to get away from these idiots. When we moved in, the bathtub was disgusting, and didn't even have a faucet. Just a duct taped WATER BOTTLE covering the hole in the tub. While living on property, they showed no interest in working any work orders that I submitted with photos and dates and times, including a fencing issue that caused my dog to get out of my yard. It took them EIGHT months to fix the fence. They didn't fix anything else. When I moved out, I took photos and videos of the entire place, which looked better when I moved out than it did when I moved in. I was told over the phone that we left it in such good condition the OWNER HIMSELF wanted to thank us. Then I got my security deposit check back. They charged me for a new stove, new doors for the laundry room, and a bunch of other small things that added up to over $600. I emailed them photos of the stove, the laundry room doors, the floors and walls in every room with dates and times from the day my lease ended. That was 14 days ago, and have called the office every day for the past week to speak with the property manager who is ALWAYS "not here at the moment" or "out on properties and not available" and have been "reassured" about 10 times that she will call me "tomorrow morning" and yet here I am writing this review in the hopes that she will see it, and finally give me the time of day. Stayed there 8 years and no issues from me on any level but this place was the worst. Just to get out of giving me my deposit they make up some lies about having to clean out apartment and leave trash on curb and the carpet needed cleaned when the unit was out dated and carpet was matted and stained when I moved in. I left nothing in the unit at all and they lied and made up reasons to keep money from me and to top that off they claim that I owe them. Thanks Equity Realestate. And if you manage to talk to a property manger good luck getting any form of customer service. I'm not even exaggerating. I've dealt with stubbornness and reckless management before but this takes the cake. Decided to renew because it's too much trouble to move furniture over the summer when I'm out of town. Had a question about the legal wording on one of the forms and the lady talked to me like I was an idiot. Pretty sure she just didn't understand the question when I was attempting to point out problems with their form. I went to my friends place and was struck by how terrible the condition was. Now he's a pretty clean guy, but you could have a crew of cleaning people come in and they still wouldn't be able to clean the permanently stained ceilings, cracked floorboards, and overall sad appearance of such a desolate place. Here's the kicker: it's been 2 months since my friend's oven and microwave have worked. He's put in multiple work orders and this lazy, unbelievably disappointing, sorry excuse for a company has failed to provide him with adequate living conditions. If I were him, I'd press charges. Deceptive, uncaring staff that misrepresents their units and services, and the secretary never seems to know anything. I was shown an older home that was fully decorated. The paint was bad, but the realtor insisted multiple times before I even saw it that this was something that would be fixed before we moved in. I wasn't super concerned about paint, so I went to see the home. The inside looked ok enough; there were some issues, but they seemed minor. When the previous tenant moved out, and it came time for move-in, I was horrified. The unit didn't even look the same. The decorations had hidden major issues. The sagging roof and sloping foundation became very apparent. We found out that there have been serious talks about just demolishing the home. The closet door that my realtor "left open for" me has EXTREME trouble opening, due to the shifting foundation. The wiring is back, and when someone plugs something in, you know it, because the lights flicker. There are cracks in the walls that were covered, and now that the previous tenant's shower curtain is gone, I can see how chipped, rusty, and discolored the bathtub is. To top it off, only one side of the water works, so you can't control the temperature. I have 2 small children, and this does not work. The dishwasher that I saw is not actually functional. It has been turned into a "floating countertop" instead (???). The painting and siding we agreed upon was not done prior to move in, and the staff now says that that is something that they don't have to do. Someone was finally. sent out the Monday after our lease started to complete this job. The house also was not professionally cleaned, as there are thick layers of dust on EVERYTHING. I've had a headache since I moved in from it. I also never received verification that this home doesn't have harmful asbestos, or lead, which is concerning What angers me the most is the staff. Each time I've called they've been rude. They're quick to interrupt and try to rush you off the phone. When you ask them questions, they "don't know," or blame the home owner, or worse, put you on hold before you can say anything and then leave you there to rot. The secretary, Theresa, never has any answers, yet never wants to transfer you to someone else. She conveniently didn't have the manager's name when I asked for a manager, and couldn't transfer me, because the manager was "busy." She couldn't give me a time that the manager would be available, and told me that the manager "would call me back or not," and that that would be at the manager's discretion (what?!). She constantly rewords my questions and tries to give those as answers instead of actually answering my questions. I'm sick of being run around. It's month 1, and I'm already counting the days until my lease is up. I'm so frustrated, and they have done nothing to try to make this experience any better. Never rent from them. read more

Do not rent with these people! Absolutely worst experience of my life! After numerous ridiculous issues, I decided I better write this review. 1. They will come try to steal stuff off of your porches. We had gotten noticed to remove things from the side of the buildings (none of which was mine by the way, all of it is my neighbors) and were given a list of certain things not allowed on porches. None of the stuff on my porch were on the list of things not allowed but Equity Real Estate decided to come take everything of off all of our porches (including patio furniture). I arrived home while all this was happening to find all my things and my neighbors things loaded on a trailer to be hauled off. Long story short, an argument happened, cops came, and made them put all the stuff back from where they got it. My stuff would've been long gone if cops and I didn't show up in time. And I'll repeat, Nothing I had on my porch was prohibited according to the list provided by Equity Real Estate. But they just decided to grab everything... The police were shocked as well that they came to grab our personal stuff off of our porches and determined it would've been theft if they drove off with it. They are lucky they didn't... 2. They tried to charge me a double Washer/Dryer Fee for the 1st 4 months which I had already paid. Had to go through a big hassle so they could finally figure out that they made the mistake not me. Definitely not a pleasant experience. 3. No respect for Tenants. Angelina or Angelita in specific was very rude and did not seem to care about any of the issues I had. She'll basically tell you that she's coming in your house to show the unit at whatever time and if that's not a good time for you, then that's too bad. She gave me less than a 24 hours notice of showing my unit and then proceeded to never show up because I said I was going to be there disclosing the truth of this property and company. This was after I had asked to reschedule the showing for next week as I would like more than less than a days notice to let strangers into my place with all my valuables (especially after they tried stealing off my porch). . So she didn't reschedule like I requested and had me believe she was coming but then never showed up. Also, the lady at the front desk has been very rude and disrespectful as well from the beginning. They both seem to be high on the power they have. Also, they don't seem to care about specifics in the lease pertaining to this situation of scheduled showings. 4. Cheap rent is NOT WORTH IT. I understand the rent is tempting but once you move in, you will realize they aren't disclosing a lot of the problems. All the units in my building have been infested with roaches. The walls are super thin. You can hear everything from your neighbors. Some doors don't shut all the way or lock. Exterior of the building is falling apart. And many more issues I could go on and on about.... I just wanted to tell everyone how bad this experience has been for me so it doesn't happen to you. They take advantage of renters and never - let me repeat that - NEVER have their stuff together. Every time I speak with them, I get a different answer to any question I have. I have had a good experience with Equity in College Station, Repairs have been done quickly and well, and I see the maintenance man all the time working other units. My one frustration has been the early re-signing of the lease. Ours expires in July, but we have been required to re-sign by mid-February. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM EQUITY!!! I moved in three days ago, and have yet to have the apartment issues resolved. I signed a lease in April for a July move-in, so they had MONTHS to make ready the apartment. On the day of my lease start, I walked in to an apartment that had no flooring, no A/C, no working stove or refrigerator, leaking faucets, and had not been cleaned in months. The kitchen and bathrooms are both so filthy and grimy that they cannot be used! Still, I have to go to a friends house to use the facilities. Furthermore, there is ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! They are acting like I am asking too much for these things to be fixed. I am appalled by their complete lack of humanity. Similar issues as other reviews. The Management office does not care about the tenants. We just signed the lease 4 days before and had not turn in our walk through paperwork yet and had a water leak. We called the management office about the process to get it fixed. They promptly told us they no longer managed the property and would no longer do any of the maintenance. This was 4 DAYS after signing the lease. They did not tell us when they showed us the unit or when we signed the lease that they would no longer be managing our unit. They would not even tell us how long they knew this. So obviously they had known at the time they showed us the property and signed the lease. We had to complain to get them to finally fix the water leaks. So this hopefully will be a good move by the owner to change management companies. Additionally they would not let us sign more than a 6 month lease and told us our rent would be going up at the end of the lease. How would they know this if they did not know who the new management company would be? Very unethical practices by this firm. Also the day we signed the lease they were asking us to turn in our notice to vacate. They said this was a normal practice to protect the tenant. "Give a 6 month notice!" I have rented places all over the US and had never heard of such a thing. Stay away if at all possible. They obviously do not believe in the core values of Aggies. read more

this major student rental organization was uncooperative and obstructive in all requests for service that a renter would normally have. We should of seen the problem at move in, when they said they would paint and fix this n that.... of course they did not fix or paint anything. After two years after moving out they tried and partially succeeded in withholding payment for paint needs fixing needs and cleaning needs that were not due to our tenancy, but were existing, we left the place cleaner than when we moved in. Not only did they try to hold our deposit but they tried for more. It seems to be a routine effort and i feel sure some tenants dont bother to fight. During the two years it quickly became apparent that it was waste of time to request repairs and maintenance. Fence repair requests, jammed windows, move-in promises, mold, bugs, overgrown jungle plants, all issues that were not dealt with. read more

Like many reviews on here, if I could give Equity Realestate in College Station zero or even negative stars I would. I have been less than pleased with them from the first day my boyfriend and I moved into our rental. Our duplex recently sold and we are now being managed by a different realty company, thank god. Since the shift, we have been informed that our sewage system will have to be redone soon, as it is years out of code. We'd spoken to Equity about issues we'd noticed with it previously (our sprinklers have never gone off in the two years we've been here, yet our neighbor's go off almost constantly). However, Equity told us not to worry about it. Additionally, when they were trying to sell the multiple duplexes on our street they used our unit as a show unit without our consent. Unfortunately this was not our only issue with lackluster Equity. Additionally, our rental unit was not cleaned properly. It had things left over from the previous tenants, such a chair and general trash in the backyard. One of the shower heads was not anchored to the wall, and thus was already half ripped through the drywall before we moved in. It had stains in the carpet and, oddly enough, on the ceiling. Our blinds over our kitchen window were very dirty. The shelves in one of the closets had obviously not been wiped of dirt from where I assume the previous tenant kept their work boots? When I used our washer for the first time it half flooded the duplex. Then it took three days for Equity to get someone out to deal with it. I called Equity to let them know I was very displeased with the condition of our unit, only to be very rudely asked, "Well, is it uninhabitable?" I guess the dirty condition of this unity is what you should generally expect when moving into an Equity property. Their management in general is awful. We asked them multiple times to let us know at least a day ahead if they were going to be coming in so that we could make arrangements for our dogs, whom we do not normally kennel. They frequently came in with no notice at all. We asked our leasing agent if we could put a dish satellite on the roof (as there were already FIVE satellites on the roof from previous tenants) and were told that yes, we could. Then a few days later the leasing office told us that we couldn't put a dish on the roof, and that the leasing agent didn't speak for the leasing company. What? We were also told that maintenance would come by to take all the satellites down. Two years later and they're all still there. It frequently took them weeks to respond to maintenance requests. One such occasion occurred when our air conditioning went out. The third time I called I was told there was no record of my previous maintenance requests that I'd put in days before. Clearly organization is something they could stand to work on. If you enjoy discovering new levels of frustration and learning to expect the worst from your leasing company, Equity is the company for you! Otherwise, steer clear. read more

So unprofessional! Avoid equity at all costs! Before I even signed my lease, Kerri was threatening me with late fees despite the fact that she refused to accommodate my schedule at all. But that's not all. When Kerri decided to try and rent our slum to someone else, her frequent visits were announced late at night, around 7pm at the earliest. Even when she got the times wrong she still showed up and insisted on showing the place. She eventually began harassing me over text to clean the place. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS! (Kerri Simmons!!) Other staff weren't all charm either, at one point when I asked for a receipt for my rent, an old woman began barking at me about anyone being able to ask for a receipt and the apparent threat to the legitimacy of their business Nothing was ever easy at equity. When the time to move out came, they gleefully stuck us with a $250 charge for hauling trash, a $100 dollar trash to curb fee, and a $78 dollar charge for "something sticky on the fan." All this is truly remarkable when you consider the fact that our house had dead roaches all over the floor on move in day. In short, avoid these slumlords at all costs. There are plenty of honest places that will rent you a residence while treating you like a human being. Especially in the B/CS area where you have near unlimited options. One star is too much. I have been with equity for about a year now and they have been pretty good until now. My apartment has a fenced in back yard which backs up to my neighbors yard so there is a fence that divides our two yards. Well three of the fences boards that connects our two yards got broken so now our dogs can easily go from one yard to another which is not ideal especially since I pay to have a privacy fenced in backyard. Well I call and put in a maintenance request and a month later it is still not fixed. I have called at least five times about this problem and still nothing. One time I called they told me they might not even fix it. I am still waiting for them to fix it, but maybe I should just do it myself. I never understood why their reviews were so bad until now. read more

worst leasing experience ever. our air conditioner was broken for a week and a half during the peak of summer heat, literally in the 100s outside. The company said it "wasn't an emergency." it was so hot in the house I had to stay somewhere else during that time and it was truly miserable. This neighborhood is also terrible, all of my roommate's cars have been broken into as well as our neighbors. Someone also tried to break into the house in the middle of the afternoon, but the dog scared it away. I called Equity and told them and asked if there was anything they could do to help, maybe install extra locks? and they said they couldn't help and I should just get a "big dog." They are so unprofessional and take advantage of college students in my opinion. They also require you to pay rent by cashiers check which is a real inconvenience, it's 2019!!!!!!! Also the maintenance requests never actually get completed and for everything that has been messed up, it has taken at least three to four calls for anything to ever get fixed. Complete lack of communication and records imo. Literally, no one ever knows what they are talking about. AVOID AVOID AVOID, that's my advice for anyone renting in Bryan/ College Station. read more

They never fix anything at the properties they manage, u have to constantly call or fill out a maintaince form online then it takes 4 mths or more to get things fixed. Then sometimes they say it's fixed when it's not. They are always rude but then except your $1100 mth rent on time. Cesar Espinoza and his agent, Sean Randall, helped me sell my home and purchase a new one (same neighborhood) about 3 months ago. I purposefully delayed writing a review until I had time to cool off and avoid providing an angered or hasty review. To provide some background information, this was not the first time my family has experienced a bad business deal with Cesar. His assistance with selling/buying my home(s) was his opportunity to make amends, but he could not follow through with his promise for "first-class service" the second time around. He and his agent did not seem to have much knowledge of the market in that area. Sean was insistent on listing my previous home for what I felt was under value, but his number was the very top of the range based on his market analysis. It was not until my father intervened and demanded a particular price that he agreed to up the list price. Within a couple of days of listing, we had multiple well-above list offers... including cash deals. I'm thankful that I did not trust their market analysis of my property because I would have missed out on a better deal. Throughout the whole process, there was very little communication. In my previous home purchase dealings, my realtor [personally] kept me updated on every single step of the process. Cesar has office assistants that handle most of the communication between him/his agents and their clients, but it was very difficult to even receive a response from them. His office assistants dropped the ball about a week or so before the proposed closing date. They were supposed to send me an addendum to sign, but never even mentioned that to be a missing item. I did not find out until 3 days before the proposed closing date and I was the one who reached out to them to find out about it. No communication was ever provided that there was a delay or that more information was required. Extremely disgruntled by the lack of communication, I reached out to Sean who's only response was to place blame on everyone else (lenders, buyer's agent, appraisers) and did not take responsibility for their office's mistakes. I considered this to be a poor business practice and let him know (at length) that I did not care who's fault he considered it to be, but for him to make it right because all could have been avoided with proper communication from HIM. The addendum was signed by all parties within 20 minutes of that call. Closing day arrives for my previous home. The new buyer arrives with his agent as I am still moving out. I provided Sean with written specifics of what is staying with the house, what is not, many details of upgrades and flaws (scratches on wood floors, sticking on doors, etc) in the home, and that the home would be sold as-is. The buyer was not aware that I would be taking my appliances and replacing them with brand new, same-feature appliances. This was left off of the seller's disclosure and the agent/buyer were irate. They were pleased with the new appliances, but the lack of communication was off putting to them as they, too, had experienced frustration from lack of communication with Cesar's office. I explained that communication would need to be handled through Sean or Cesar. With all of us still at the house, we each attempted to reach out to them. No response. I receive a text from Sean that he was about to call the buyer's agent back. I follow up with him after some time...still no call, but repeated texts from Sean that he and Cesar are "calling". I stood there with the buyer and his agent for another 45 minutes and Sean/Cesar never call, but continue with the texts that they are handling. I had to settle the dispute on my own, but Cesar and Sean were paid a premium to represent me and, as an agent/broker, it was their responsibility to handle. In my previous dealings with closings, the agent always shows up. But this must not have been included with my "first-class" service. At closing, the buyer asked for an additional $800 to repair the scratches on the floors or he would not sign. The scratches on the floors were very clearly stated in the sellers disclosure and this transaction should not have been requested much less provided. However, I was without proper representation to support me. I ended up paying the $800 because I could not even get a hold of Sean and simply wanted the transaction to be complete. I lost an additional $800 for their lack of communication and lack of presence throughout the most vital areas of the home selling process. I would never recommend others to use Cesar or any of his associates. I have actually warned several friends looking for homes to avoid him and his team. There were even talks of them sponsoring me to become a licensed agent and work for them, but this is not a name I will ever want to get behind. read more

I have been leasing an apartment for years in Austin and never had any issues. The leasing companies were always happy to try and help whenever they could. Not the case here. I rented from them for a year and it has been the longest year ever. They have high turnover and will state that is a reason why's the there was incorrect information given. When they are trying to release your apartment they will barge in whenever they want. Their management takes no responsibility behind what their employees do. I made an account solely for this review; it's worth a read. I must preface this by stating that I never actually rented from this realtor, thankfully. Most of the people working here seem to be decent individuals trying to make a living. However, the owner is a different matter entirely. He hides behind the word policy like a mouse hiding from a fire. I was attempting to sublease a unit through this agency, and the only thing left before they could make their decision was a renters verification from my current apartment complex. Once they got this information, they Informed me that I had not been approved. As this was surprising to me, I drove to their place of business to attempt to get an answer why. As mentioned by other posts, initially the other employees were unwilling to grant me an audience with him, so I sat and waited. Eventually the owner came forward, and I attempted to find out what information was given on the renters verification that influenced their decision. He continually rambled on feeding me a concoction of ambiguous not direct answers. I asked to see the form myself and again he refused. At this time I was quite done listening to his incessant rambling and I left by stating "I see now why your reviews are so low." He is a person whose ego is so enormous it is absolutely blinding to any sense of moral inclination. This is evidenced by his body posture, word choice, temperament, and even a dry erase board on the wall in their office. Based on this initial contact and the reviews on this website, he seems to not care one bit about his tenants. But I still wasn't done. I went back to my current apartment complex, and they did show me the form they were asked to fill out. As soon as I was shown the form I noticed that the apartment number at the top of the form was incorrect, and the information that led to them rejecting my application in the first place, was not accurate. I called back to the agency to inform them of this problem, and the lady on the phone told me she would tell the owner when he returned to the office. I decided instead to just drive back to their office and wait for him in their front sitting room. Now, at this point, I was not planning on doing business with them anymore, but I was insatiably curious as to how the owner would react when presented with clear evidence of a mistake made on their part. As soon as I walked in I saw the owner in the back, and I know he saw me as well. I waited at the front desk for approximately 1 minute before a younger woman walked by and asked if I had been helped. I said I was waiting for the boss and she went back to talk to him. Within seconds she returned and informed me that the boss wan't going to talk to me. I laughed and sat down with the book I brought and prepared to wait for him, since I didn't realize I was dealing with a 70 year old child whose arrogance makes him incapable of admitting to a mistake. I wasn't seated very long when the owner came to the front desk and told me to leave immediately without answering any of my questions. I did not raise my voice in any way and I was by no means hostile towards him or any of his employees, yet he INSISTED I leave without any answers to my legitimate concerns. All I wanted to do was voice my concerns and attempt to get to the truth. As I refused to leave without satisfactory answers, he then proceeded to call the police to remove me. This clearly shows the cowardice of the owner as all I was doing was asking questions that could have completely changed their initial judgement, and he refused, with every breath, to even address them with the slightest of respect, decency, or even tactfulness. Once the officers arrived I spoke with one and explained to him my side of the story, while another one spoke with the owner. Once the latter officer returned, he said he was told that the owner had a problem with my Credit. This was the first time this had ever been mentioned to me, and it is directly opposed to a call I had made the day before where I was told that everything on my application looked good, and they were only waiting on a good review from my current apartment complex. I do believe that he willingly lied to the police officer who got his record of events, so as to make it seem like he was in the right. Additionally, the officers informed me that this was not the first time that they had been called here for similar reasons. Thus, I am thankful for not having to do business with this despicable agency. Based on my very limited exposure to the owner and the other reviews on here, I cannot, with good faith, utter even a single word of applause for this "man" whose moral nature is so far beyond deplorable that not even Webster can define it. If anyone feels they MUST utilize this establishment, just remember that only a fool lays their head in a bed of snakes and expects not to get bit. read more

Equity has been nothing short of amazing to me personally the past 2 years. Yes I've experienced typical issues but I think it's how you go about it. Treat them the way you want to be treated. With that being said, every single issue I've had, Equity has helped me get through in good timing. My place was clean as a whistle when I moved in, and nearly perfect besides usual wear and tear. Their maintenence has been so amazing and fast acting. They helped me get rid of a bad roach infestation that another unit brought to our fourplex, 2 new dryers because they accidentally brought faulty ones, a new oven, fixed an a/c condensation leak, etc. I also needed extra time to get back to them if I were renewing my lease and they graciously have me a 30 day grace period to where I was able to figure out if I was renewing or not (which I did). I used to live at Campus View, which was awful, and living in a fourplex under Equity has been such a great, more comfortable, and cheaper experience. I definitely plan on sticking with Equity throughout my stay in College Station if I can. *Note: the maintenance workers vary by owner of the actual unit. Equity doesn't control that aspect of it. So if you have bad maintenance issues, it's due to your building owner. My fourplex owner, Gene Savage, has a wonderful maintenance team that works hard and fast, and are very pleasant to speak with.* read more

BEWARE! My daughter tried many times to reach this office --specifically employee Dee after the current tenants (A&M students) painted a wall and the damages totaled over $1750. We are and were willing to pay, but requested a break out of the charges. Without responding at any time to the request for details beginning in April of 2011 on the wall, their employees came in to the rented home and took personal items from the girls including in my daughter's room and out of her drawers. These young ladies have paid their rent on time without issue. For your information and caution, we do have a record of failure of this company to respond to a number complaints including promises of repairing leaks in the home and washer/dryer repair. We waited over a week for the air conditioner to be repaired last summer. The condition was unlivable for these girls. We have a record of her attempts to reach Dee and resolve the painting issue. We have contacted the College Station Police and will now proceed with other action. I am also notifying the Better Business Bureau and ensuring that unsuspecting clients are very aware of how this office conducts business. BEWARE they will enter rented property and steal items from A&M College students. Update: These people never responded to the Better Business Bureau with our complaints read more

Went in to try and get out of my lease because someone has been damaging my car (in my own driveway) when I'm not home. They said I had to sublease, which I understand except that I can't seem to find anyone who needs an apartment right now or they all already found one. I read in my lease that if I brought them a police report regarding harrassment or stalking, I could get out of my lease. The receptionist (who was the only one who seemed to give a damn) asked the manager if that would be okay, to which he replied in a sarcastic tone, "No, sorry." So if you want to rent from a company that won't honor their own contract this is the place for you. Otherwise, save yourself the trouble of paying legal fees and don't give them a second look. read more

Equity Real Estate manages a property on my street in Southwood Terrace on Bahia. "Manages" is a term I use loosely. The house is in HORRIBLE shape, the roof needs repair, it looks like it has been hail damaged and never repaired, the garage door is broken, doesn't shut properly, the yard is in very bad shape, weeds overgrown. There is a tree on the property that has many dead limbs and is a definite safety hazard. I would not be surprised if a limb broke off in a slight wind and damaged the house or worse, hit someone standing nearby. The facia on the front of the house is badly damaged, it needs painting. And this is just what I can see from the street. I can't imagine how horrible it is on the inside. I suggest you never, ever rent a place that is managed by Equity because it looks like they won't do anything to fix a problem. I've reported this property to the City of College Station, let's see if it helps. We need stricter code enforcement! read more
