It is inviting from the outside. When I walked in, I was greeted, shown a seat, and escorted to a coat rack to hang up my coat. It wasn't an overly enthusiastic greeting; but it was friendly and seemed appropriate. Despite having several people already waiting who were ahead of me "in queue," it wasn't long before I was shown a seat and asked what I wanted. I explained it and then the barber went to work...and he gave me the best haircut I have ever had at a barbershop. He did a fantastic job. I'll definitely be back, and probably next week. I highly recommend Karizma. Note: I didn't go into detail about how Turkish barbershop services are different than the average barbershop. If you don't know, do a search on Google.

My friendly barber-ess had reasonable English but was an expert with the machine and scissors and used her expertise to give me a very good number three. Attention to detail was evident throughout and ears and eyebrows were also taken of for the eight euro. It goes to twelve at the weekend. The dearer treatments at this busy establishment are €25.00 for a Hot Towel Shave and €30.00 for Hi-Lites (including cut).

But, on my way to view excellent selection of rock photos in Cork Vision Centre in North Main Street, spotted Crew Cuts (more or less opposite Bradley's, my unofficial bottled beer supplier). Because of the proximity to Turkey compared to America it was hard to choose the right one for the job. After walking up and down MacCurtain St a few times looking and speaking to a few pros I found Franco's was the right one. Nico, whom I think is the owner gave me a warm welcoming upon looking into his shop. The place was very clean and there not a lot of people, just a laid back barber shop with a very professional look and feel. He sat me in the chair and asked a few questions about how he could tailor my cut. Might I add that my premise for the Turkish barber was the straight razor shave. So, I included my need for a shave too. He then went to work on my mop of a head to and beard to make it a master piece. He took his time all the while we had a very interesting conversation.
