I want to start by saying I have never been more grateful for a daycare EVER!…read more I have had other daycares including private homes... BUT nothing is as Warm and Fuzzy as this. MY child CRYS when he sees me come in, because he isn't done yet! He even asks if I can come back later. He LOVES this center, from his teachers, to the most fabulous staff... I feel safe dropping him off and going to work. If I could give ten stars I would. One teacher in particular has 30 years here... thirty years of her life spent taking care of the working parents children, that right there says it all!!! thank you so much from my heart to yours... you are here when I need you. I just wanted to point out that the administration for KinderCare has changed since 2014 (so the…read moreprevious post really is not applicable). Laura the director and Stacey the assistant director are wonderful. The directors are really what made me choose this center over others in the area. These people help their staff, students and parents (they don't just sit in an office all day). They actually know each child who attends their school which I did not get on any other tours we had with other preschools. My son (who is 3) has been at KinderCare for a few months and he is gaining a lot of new skills and learning. If you are just looking for playtime and daycare this may not be the place for you. We were looking for more of a preschool curriculum, and they have not disappointed. The teachers really care about teaching your child. They also have some really cool programs like Soccer Shots (which costs extra). My son gets to take soccer classes while he is in school. They also have a basketball group as well, but we just did soccer for now as he loves it. We currently attend 3 days a week (half days) so they offer a bit of flexibility with schedule (and this helped our budget as well). Meals (breakfast and lunch plus snacks) are included in tuition.

This place is REALLY bad everybody. This is not someone complaining about little things. There are…read moreMAJOR issues. Most pressing is the lax security. Their biometric scanner has been broken for like 2 years and every week, "We're having someone come out to fix it". Since it's broken they just buzz ANYONE in. I picked my daughter up maybe twice in almost 18 months and not a single time was I questioned or asked to show ID. Just to give some perspective our new daycare is tiny and maybe only has a total of 50 kids and they have TWO secure doors between the outside and the kids. TWICE my daughter was sent home with another girl's pants and no underwear. Day one we brought 5-6 pair of underwear and a few extra pair of pants. Every single week whether they were used or not my wife brought her clothes home and washed them and then took them back. When we called and asked why she was sent home without underwear they had no idea. I asked the teacher the next day and she said that they couldn't find her extra clothes. I walked over to my daughter's cubby and grabbed a bag full of clothes and showed it to the teacher. This place is the "Walmart" of daycare centers. They pack as many kids as they can into the building. In the morning they sometimes violate the rule for the number of teachers. I would drop my daughter off and there would be one teacher for 12-13 kids. The staff is confrontational and defensive if you report anything. We literally had no choice but to bring our daughter here and we got her out as soon as we moved into a new house. Two teachers from CLA currently work at my daughter's new daycare. They told us tons of horror stories about this place and how it's run. That's why they left and went to another center. Just please if you have to go here like we did then get on them about fixing the doors. I mean it. Have a friend of the family who is on your list but never been to the place before pick your kids up and I bet they walk right in and get them.

I do not recommend their summer camp. They made a lot of promises during the tour to lure us in but…read moremy kids didn't get to do half the things they showed them. My oldest spent most of her time on her tablet. I spent way too much money for what they got. Very disappointed!

At 9:00 am I watched her daycare teacher BIRGITT MANN snatch my daughters food from her and allowed her all but 5 minutes to eat her breakfast . I'm sorry but I've never known a two year old to eat in 5 minutes. Then I watched the teacher yank my daughter out of a toddler chair that she was more than capable of getting out of by herself and she shoved my daughter. I immediately went to pick my daughter up and I wasn't going to be confrontational I just wanted to get my daughter out of there because I was so uncomfortable but then the teacher started screaming at me as soon as I walked in the classroom . Screaming in front of an entire class of two year olds. Telling me that why am I watching video cameras while I'm driving (which I wasn't but doesn't really matter that's what the cameras are there for) proceeds to ask me why I have my daughter in daycare then when I told her to not put her hands on my child like that and then tries to grab my daughter again to "show" me what she did. To make matters worse the assistant director was in the room the entire time and did absolutely nothing to de escalate the situation. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN TO LA PETITE ACADEMY IN THORNTON. They do not care for your child's safety or their needs the district manager wrote me off this afternoon with my phone call with her as well. They do not take matters like this seriously and they allow people who assault children to work for them. Sincerely fuck la petite academy .

My child learned more at home than he did here. What a waste! If you take your children here please keep in mind there are always sick children here as well. Most places have a sick policy and this place seems to not care. Sick kids with coughs and runny noses all the time. "Teachers" sitting and being grumpy all day. Really?! It's sad that I even left my kid there as long as I did. Pay attention to what they are feeding your child also.

After doing research on the best facilities across Broomfield, Louisville, Lafayette and Erie, I decided on Little Sunshine's and am SO GLAD that I did. Miss Gini (Asst Director) made the process from enrollment to first day attendance feel comfortable and simple, easing my worries tremendously. Miss Lori and Miss Brooke (along with the help of Miss Adrienne) in the Infant 2 room have been the BIGGEST blessings! My little girl loved them from the first week she started. Making it so much easier for me to drop her each day and go to work knowing she is in good hands and loves her teachers. They are always engaging and have done everything they can to help ease my mind and keep my little girl happy. They are flexible and communicative and very sweet with all of the kids. Cannot say enough positive things about this dream team! Also, their proprietary phone app, LuvNotes is AWESOME! The teachers post pictures and notes of my daughters activities throughout the day, when she eats, naps and has a diaper change, which definitely helps mamas like me get peace of mind and reduce the mom guilt. SHOUT OUT TO MISS LORI and MISS BROOKE - ya'll are the BEST! Thank you for being you!!

After that, we received no communication for 14 months. When we finally reached out, Little Sunshine reneged on their promise of part-time care and had no opening available as originally assured. When we asked for a refund (given that we paid the fee based on inaccurate information) we were told the fee is non-refundable, even though staff acknowledged that multiple families have expressed similar frustrations about misleading waitlist practices. We were promised a follow-up from a higher-up, but no one ever called. In our view, the $350 waitlist fee was paid under deceptive and misleading circumstances, and the lack of communication and accountability has been very disappointing.

THANK YOU Primrose Thornton for staying abreast of the COVID regulations throughout this pandemic…read moreand investing heavily (financially and other) in the health & safety of the school, teachers/staff and families. Yes, observing COVID regulations is (importantly) about individual and public health--but your compliance and care have positively affected our children's education, socialization, and our sanity because classes and the school can stay OPEN. Quarantine is costly and a big pain for all. There are multiple reasons behind different actions that are not in front of folks for them to see and understand. So while it shouldn't be necessary, in addition to all the hoops you've jumped through to make things work, thank you also for explaining to those who have a strong opinion and may not always understand "why". Also, my 4 year old has been attending since he was 1, and he loves his teachers and classmates. He's doing very well in school. We love that they provide meals (less work for parents) and have widely available hours (with some reasonable adjustments during COVID due to staffing & ratio requirements).

My son attended Karter School in Thornton from early 2024 through June 2025. I'm writing this…read morereview under my real name despite hesitation, as I've observed other detailed parent reviews being publicly dismissed rather than addressed. That response to genuine feedback is itself concerning. I withdrew my son due to ongoing issues with leadership, communication, and safety concerns that accumulated over time. My experience aligns closely with other detailed reviews that have been dismissed as fake, which speaks to a pattern of avoiding accountability rather than addressing legitimate concerns. Initially, the director was professional and welcoming. Over several months, her approach changed significantly. Communication became dismissive and at times felt hostile. After a minor misunderstanding at a school event, the tone toward my family clearly shifted. Reasonable questions were met with defensiveness rather than collaboration. Warning signs included sudden classroom changes without parent notification, active discouragement of parent-teacher communication, and an atmosphere where families seemed reluctant to ask questions or raise concerns. When a teacher left abruptly, parents were told not to discuss it, a directive that felt controlling rather than transparent. Safety incidents during our enrollment included an emergency evacuation and police presence on the property. Communication during these events was minimal and reactive. Staff appeared uncertain about emergency procedures, which is unacceptable in a childcare setting. In June 2025, I became aware that the director had spoken negatively about me by name during another family's private exit meeting, a meeting I had no involvement in. This breach of professionalism confirmed my concerns about retaliation and lack of accountability. I withdrew my son immediately. The building is beautiful and many teachers genuinely care about the children. However, leadership sets the culture, and that culture felt increasingly defensive and unstable. I encourage prospective families to speak with multiple current and former parents, review state licensing records, and look beyond first impressions before enrolling.

We were fortunate to have one of the best teachers our child has ever had while we were at this…read moreschool, and for a time, everything seemed to be going well. However, when we attempted to transition our child to a different classroom, we were met with unexpected resistance from management. What followed was a terse meeting, after which we were abruptly expelled from the program. Unfortunately, we have since learned that we are not the first family to experience this kind of treatment. There were also repeated instances where promised programs--such as Music and Mandarin--were quietly removed or dismissed as never having been part of the curriculum, despite earlier assurances. A concerning pattern we observed is how management handles criticism. Families who leave negative reviews on public platforms like Google are often met with threats of legal action from ownership (see attached image). People are afraid of reprisal and remove them as you will be targeted by management to find out if you know who left them as they are obsessed with their reviews. The organization is quick to invoke its "Parent Code of Conduct" to justify its actions, yet there is no equivalent standard of accountability for management behavior. As a result, many families feel compelled to leave anonymous reviews out of fear of retaliation. I urge other families to proceed with caution. Being removed from a daycare is not only disruptive to your child's development and emotional well-being, but also to your family's routine and stability. To make matters worse, the center does not offer refunds or even partial reimbursements if you are dismissed mid-month.
