I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful learning experience my sons have had at the TLE of North Bergen!. They exceeded my expectations of a safe environment, loving teachers, and an impressive curriculum for nine years! My oldest is now 9 yrs old with my other son four years younger and both have been at TLE from their infant room with Miss Elizabeth to PreK 2 with the master teacher, Mrs. Adewale! In between, there are so many caring teachers and helper teachers who treated my boys like their own, including helping them make good choices with behavior, helping me teach them how to blow their nose, say please and thank you, potty training them, reminding them they love them, ...the list goes on and on and I really appreciate all the maternal help throughout the years. My youngest just graduated PreK2, but I saw first hand how my older son was reading and writing close to a 1st grade level by the time he was starting Kindergarten because of the challenging TLE curriculum that includes all subjects, even science experiments! After being in Paramus location, I hated this one, teacher we got was too busy informing me of all of the rules and regulations, director had a nerve to keep a initial deposit even though we were only there a week. Place is nowhere near as clean or pleasant as Paramus location. I guess it's better than anything else in North Bergen but still. In the morning when you drop off the kids, they place them in another room, ok no problem. Guessing most of staff rolls in at 9, so kids must sit at the tables. Are not allowed to play or run around??? It's like a gestapo... I will gladly spend 15k someplace else! Maybe you guys should spend more time training in Paramus, where they know how to care and nurture? Just a thought ... read more

I've visited a few daycares before choosing one for my 4 month old and I liked this place the best. The daycare is new and nice. I like the large parking lot and the measures of security they have. The infant room is nice and the ladies that work in it are nice too. I did take off one star because sometimes I get the feeling that the caregivers get pretty overwhelmed and I wish there were more of them so they can have more time to read to and play with the babies (I know state minimum is 1:4 ratio but still). So I am first time mommy, and as neurotic and OCD as only I can be... so when it came down to choosing child acre for my munchkin I trusted TLE of North Bergen. I interviewed and toured sooooo many placed in the Hudson and Bergen Counties and though this place is out of the way for me I made the commitment to have her here. The cleanliness, security and friendly staff makes all the difference. My daughter loves her teachers, and I have made great friends here with other mommies. Bina, the Director is truly one of a kind, and both Mrs. Kim and Mrs. Trish in the infant room are like second mothers to my little one. read more

I was very excited for my son to attend this school because I have friends in NY who had highly recommended the learning experience. However, I did not have a good experience in this institution. My son attended the prepper class for about 7 months. At that time, I was pregnant and I really needed help in the potty training area. During the time he attended, he was not completely potty trained at all. Secondly, from the very beginning, my son became very sick. He developed a chronic daycare cough. I know it is expected for kids to get sick while attending daycare. But, I was not expecting to get constantly sick, he even developed pneumonia, RSV, vomiting and diarrhea. One time, I went to pick up my son, I noticed a couple of kids having a compulsive cough, I was surprised, they let sick kids attend to school. During the month of December, my son only attended school twice during the entire month, even though I made a full payment. I never received a phone call asking me the reason of absence or any sign of caring act. I decided to remove my son and since then, he has not been sick not even once. Most importantly, my son will come home with scratches on his face and ears. I was told by his teacher that he comes with those scratches from home. Otherwise, I am completely sure that he doesn't get those scratches at home. Therefore, I lost trust in my son's caregivers because as a mom I get ready my kid to school and I know he did not have any scratch on his face. After complaining about the scratches, I was told that my son is the kid that pushes other kids. Which, I might even think it could be true because he might push other kids if they are also scratching his face. However, my son's teacher always said that he came with those scratches from home. I also suggest they should have a smoking free sign outside the building. Research has shown that second hand smoking is as bad or even worse than primary smoking. I had an incident with another parent who was smoking right outside the door. At that time, I was 35 week pregnant and I was dropping off my 3 year old. I found this situation completely inappropriate and the way it was handled was not the most ideal. Overall, I am disappointed in this institution. read more

Since signing my son when they opened in Sept. 2015, he has grown leaps and bounds compared to the previous pre-school he attended. He's 4-1/2, he can read, write pretty well, has an enhanced vocabulary, and just keeps amazing us how much he's learning in such a short period of time. They have a strict curriculum they follow, and it works! From his teacher to the aides and administration, they're all very attentive to your child and genuinely seem to care. We placed our daughter in the toddler classroom here over the last year and I honestly could not be any more pleased with this TLE. To start, the owner Bina is an absolute pleasure to deal with. She is informed and engaged and she is easily accessible in the event anything out of the ordinary comes up. You can tell she really loves the children and she is very hands on with both them and the staff. The staff has been terrific and my daughter has responded really well to the pedagogical aspect of the classroom. She is continuously learning new materials and I can honestly say that I think she has developed so much better for having been there. It is clean and well lit and I like the atmosphere. Finally, I like the extracurricular activities they have, the oversight of the children and the daily reports that they give you on your child are fantastic. This is a follow up review to my original review back in November 2015- I still love this place! It's been almost a year since my twins first started last September and I am sad to say they will be leaving after this summer to start preschool in September. There is a definite improvement in their vocabulary since they started along with learning a few words in sign language. My kids are very happy there and I am going to miss chatting with Ms. Bina about the kids. The place still looks spanking new and clean. So as my child started the school year, TLE seemed like the perfect school fit for my child. However these students are now on their FOURTH TEACHER since September. I honestly gave all my trust to TLE to ensure a safe and comfortable atmosphere for my child. The first teacher was amazing, the second teacher described her experience poorly due to the work ethic TLE offered. She stated to some parents the pay was very bad. Now to have to switch from the third teacher to a fourth in such short notice is a shame. These students are just starting to feel comfortable and now have to get used to a new teacher yet again. There's is obviously something wrong with the way TLE treats their employees because I've never seen something like this before. You would think with all the money they are making they would offer teachers a decent salar. Secondly, in the middle of the school year they transition kids from one classroom to the next. Now my son who was in a classroom with kids his age was now in a classroom with younger students who just turned his age, but were still following curriculum. How is it possible that they can teach new things when they have to go all the way back to teach the new students everything they learned. For a school that's so expensive you would think they have a little more organization. Not only is the classroom an issue but the school does not have any hot water. So when it's freezing out and I would pick up my child or drop him off, and tell him to wash his hands he would have to wash it with cold water after entering from the cold. The bathrooms can be cleaned quite better as well. I always find children's pee stains on the toilet. This is a shame because the manager , Ms. Bina, is a sweet woman who shows interest in the children. However there are clearly administration issues that need to be fixed. read more
