When I moved here I was promised a working pool and safe grounds. I have seen the other buildings compared to mines and it's sad that they do NOT look like the pictures posted on the site or on instagram( which is not updated). The leasing office is the only thing updated. I have had to replace my own faucets, have a mold company test my bathroom for mold due to Poor maintaince prior to me Moving into my unit. The only reason I have a star is because of the school district. I pay $50 per month to park my car due to the still Broken light in the entry that does not come On until 8-9pm a s safety concerns. The intercom does not work (still) and the laundry room dryers have yet to be serviced( after now having a increase in the price and low water pressure) Yet we are still charged amenity fees for no amenity. overall, my only concern regarding this apartment complex is the lack of evidence that shows the pictures displayed on the website. Those pictures are not true and the apartments do not match the pictures facilitated on the website the fees and the price gouging is ridiculous but a lot of us still call this place home. This apartment complex feels like a project in the middle of a very nice community and neighborhood. There's only one way in and one way out which often times feels like a prison. I'm not sure if the corporate office or the actual T.I. community is aware that all of the Apartments buildings in this community do not look the same as pictured but It's fine time that they really see where their money is going in this community because it is not fairly distributed amongst the property or us Tenants :(......

Since the change, I have noticed a significant improvement in maintenance, landscaping, snow removal and general quality of this property. As my lease is coming up for renewal again, I looked around to see if there were any other properties locally that were better priced and offered more for my money. There aren't. I am definitely renewing my lease here as I see the improvement being made. I was very surprised to read the negative comments about the office and maintenance as I have never been treated rudely or had any maintenance issues. I love living in Palos Hills and think Scenic Tree is a great place to call Home. Hope this helps others in making an informed decision.

Green Oaks has the gym and pool Scenic Tree does not & no, Scenic Tree residents can't use those amenities. -Paying for resident, visitor, & handicap parking even though there is so much space ($50/ car per year and $2.50 for passes per car per day). -Storage unit is literally a chain link fence that they charge $25/month for and stuff ALWAYS gets damaged/stolen. -Laundry rooms never get cleaned and I do mean never. You also have to go to the office with cash to use the machine to put money on your laundry card. There are times where the machine is down ( no notice) or the washer or dryer is broken (YOU have to download the outside company app when this happens to file a complaint. Scenic Tree/Mathin Reality Services LLC. Will just tell you to call them) yet the prices continue to increase. 1 load is $5.25 -Mold and water damaged hallway walls and storage "room" (they fixed the mold damage in storage unit area but it took at least 6 months of complaints before someone went down and stopped the water that was coming out of the ceiling from a broken pipe. So much was destroyed while waiting though. Bikes, ac units, camping equipment....) -expired fire extinguishers (they've fixed this but it took about 4 months) -unsalted sidewalks in winter while cracked & uneven ones in the summer (hope you don't have a physical disability because you WILL fall) -Exterior doors that don't lock for more then 2 months at a time -Office closes at random times so late fees/car tows happen often. They also never answer the phone. I'd wager to guess it's because there is only one woman in there -Air conditioner does not cool off bedrooms because it's too small/doesn't have enough power.

On top of that the owner actually disclosed that he cleans after each tenant (debatable) and took that cost out of my deposit. Sorry, but there is a lot of shadey stuff happening here. Be weary. And only then was I informed the property was bought out by TI communities. I asked if the lease I was signing that day would be honored by the new owners, I was assured it would be. Boy was that wrong. Communication is non existent with this management. Took a month to get a leak in the bathroom sink fixed. The oven didnt work. There was no cover on the vent in the kitchen. No screen on the patio door. The thermostat didnt even have batteries. Granted its to be expected a 3rd floor unit would be hot, but even with the ac running day and night, with 2 empty units below you, it was still 85° in the unit. They had the boiler turned on so the heat was fighting the ac. Why turn the boiler on when the temps outside are still in the upper 80's? When the temps in winter went to 35° below freezing the heat stopped working. It was 52° in my unit. I called the emergency maintenance number, had a robo call that sais someone was heading to my unit to help. No one ever showed up. No one!!!! No call to check on the work order, nothing. No one in the front office picked up the phone or returned a call. I was told parking was free for residents. 2 months into the lease and we are told we had to pay a yearly parking fee. So you register your vehicle not only with the property but the towing company they hired to "monitor " the lots, they give you this ridiculous list of conditions your vehicle needs to be in, you pay the parking fee and they still tow your car multiple times. The building are supposed to be secured. Half the doors barely locked. This gave solicitors the opportunity to come and go as they wished at all hours of the day or night. Mail service was lacking as well. Several of the buildings have similar street names. And most buildings have the same apartment numbers. I never got any of MY mail, but always got mail for the 5 previous tennants of my unit. Your lucky if the mailbox door is even attached to the bank of boxes on the wall. Water pressure was horrid. Plumbing was always backed up. New appliances and cabinets were never new even though they just remodeled. Groups of 50 or more kids in the parking lot looking for fights. Taunting the police officers patrolling the lots with racist comments. Garbage was always piled around the dumpsters and collecting on stairways. Rivers running between every building when it rains. The outside concrete stairs are cracked and not safe. Snow removal on stairs and walkways hardly ever happened. Dirty hallways even after cleaning staff clean if they bothered to show up. There is also a rodent problem here. When you give more than a month's notice you intend to move before your lease is up, they give you one price for leaving early and send you an invoice with that price, they send you a second one with charges for damages and then send you collections 2 days later with no notice and no list of damages. All of this is illegal. This management company is pushing people out by last minute, unknown price gouging and new rules every other day but not enforced for all tenants. So, I repeat, do NOT even apply here.
