Decided to check out another show at this theater this review is for the venue and not the show itself. The venue is a nice size and has good sound and lights. One down side is that the staffing level is usally pretty low, but they do their best to get you checked in, seated and drink orders. Other downsides are the drinks are not spectacular, and for this particular show they really had the music too loud and could of got just a good or better result with it lower. For these few reasons, I would say the venue is 3 Stars rather than 4 Stars. The Black Girl Magic and Burlesque Show itself was very unique and entertaining, and we would say it's a 4-5 Stars overall. The 5 girls were all beautiful and intriguing, and their dance and show routines were very entertaining amd impressive along with their costumes. The make their way through the crowd so make sure you take cash to get funny money for tipping. The also have a routine at the end call "King or Queen For The Day" where if it's a special occasion, you can pay a fee to go up on stage, and be the center of attention as the 5 lovely and sexy girls dance around you. It is quite unique and entertaining. They do allow photos and videos during the show which I was surprised, but I elected not to take any rather just enjoy the fun and wonderful entertainment provide by these lovely and beautiful ladies!! The only thing that was noticed was the transitions were slow and long between acts due to costume changes so having videos or an MC between them would be an improvement. We definitely would recommend seeing this unique show to couples, groups and even single individuals since it is a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere. read more

We were supposed to see the Tina and Whitney show today. We got there 15 minutes before it opened and just stood outside in 112° weather waiting for them to open. They ended up never opening, never emailing out guests, nothing. A bunch of people standing outside, waiting in the heat. We came back for the next show, which was black magic, and asked the girl at the counter if they can just Com that show since we paid for that last show and nobody ever showed up. She gave us a really hard time and we had to buy two drinks minimum , but she finally let us in after checking with the manager. I thought it would be a performative show like magic, Mike or Chippendale's, but it was basically just guys grinding on the audience that threw money at them. Horrible experience, hot theater with barely working air conditioning. Hard pass for any future shows here. read more

The tina and whitney show is way over priced for what it is! She's got a good voice but the whole thing was just weird. It felt like a high school auditorium with over priced drinks. Everyone was nice but I after thinking about it I felt I needed to review. Half the show is old interviews on the screen, the music was basically kaoroke track and the singer is just not that good. For 55.00 $ it really is quite the rip off. And tiny drinks for 18.00. I was dumb enough to buy one. Very disappointed. read more

This is an outstanding family operated theater. I went with my friend to see an Elvis Show starring Steve Connely, an Elvis tribute artist who has been performing for 30 years. I was amazed how talented he is and what a great guitar player. The other backup guitar player was super talented! The theater was a bit small, like the old speakeasy of past years. The chairs were very comfortable, and the decorations were great. Our server was very nice and cracked lots of jokes. I had VIP seats, and the usher, who was also security, pointed to 2 chairs on stage and said those were our seats. Now that's funny! I've never experienced a show like this in my entire life. You felt like he was performing to each person in the audience. He talked to us and told things about Elvis and his movies, answered questions, and even took pictures with us. I had a smile on my face through the whole show! Loved it, loved it, loved it! I really didn't want the night to end. One of their next shows is Tina Turner, and I met the person performing it. This theatre is a small venue that has a number of productions. I went to see Steve Connolly as Elvis: Spirit of the King last night. The theatre is adjacent to the Abel Baker Brewing Company on the south side. Street parking is usually a block or more away. There is a city parking lot across the street from the theatre. There is some seating in the lobby if the house is not yet open when you arrive. The box office is a counter to the left when you enter. The lobby has a number of clothing items for sale and there is a painting by Steve Connolly with Martin Luther King, Jr., John Kennedy, and Elvis. You go down a hallway past the box office and then make a right into the theatre. There are two lines--VIP and regular. An employee will show you to your seats whether regular or VIP. I found the staff to be very friendly, aand I would come back again to see a show! read more

I took my uncle, aunt and 2 family friends to this show. Steve Conolly is a good Elvis impersonator and entertainer. He is very comical and interactive. He sat down and sat singing at a cut old woman who was from out of town. He was initially inperforming on the stage with his son. His son was also a good guitarist. Steve was playing the guitar. The show only lasted for one hour. I wish it was longer since we enjoyed the show. The changed his outfit once. Initially, he was wearing a tight fitting leather outfit then he changed to another Elvis outfit with the collar that is up and has tassels on his shirt. The theater is in the art district. It is an intimate small theater. The theater had a bar. Their drinks are about $13. You can purchase a VIP ticket that allows you a free photo with Steve after the show. The Lamarre theater has a couple different shows like Tina Turner and Black Magic Mike. read more

I attended two shows at the Lamarre during my trip to Vegas: Tina Turner and Elvis. I enjoyed both. High energy and good performances. For a small privately-owned theater, it is quite impressive! I have been to many small theaters and this one - by far - outshines them all. The people at the front counter (when you first walk in) are friendly and informative. The lady who takes the drink orders for the people seated at tables is kind and efficient. Everyone is very professional. "Tina Turner" was GREAT and "Elvis" was entertaining. One thing that the producers of the shows should think about (This is not enough to reduce my star rating - just something to consider): The live guitar player (in both of the shows) had his volume too loud - especially for the Elvis show. When he played, it overpowered the singer. The guitar player is obviously an EXCELLENT musician (VERY impressive), but he is not the star. He should not be pulling focus from the person that people paid to see/hear. I will start off with the good in order to not take anything away from the dancers. My friend bought 2 tickets as a birthday gift for us to attend. I was very excited because I've done several forms of dance since I was 3 years old. We went to the Black Girl Magic Burlesque show on Friday 12/13/24, which is my birthday. We loved the dancing, costumes, props, music, and being interactive with the ladies dancing that night. Bri and Sydney were our favorites! Ladies you did that! Unfortunately, in regards to the rest of the staff and management there was a lack of good customer service. The front desk staff was very unprofessional and failed to give any warnings or disclaimers regarding their tipping process. My friend went to get change to tip the dancers and in exchange we were given counterfeit money. Then at the end of the show the staff refused to exchange the unused counterfeit money they gave us. I personally will never attend another function hosted by this group of individuals. read more

Elvis... is still in the building! The Lamarre theater is easily accessible thru Main St. you cannot miss it! As you walk in they a cool little lounge area to hang out while your show starts... Me and my group got to see the tribute to Elvis with Steve Connolly and we really enjoyed it! This man was really into character, I appreciated that, as he was speaking the story of Elvis as if it was Elvis himself. No playback neither, him and his son were playing the guitars and Steve was singing straight from the heart and he did awesome! You gotta come check out the show! A good ole Vegas tradition... Attended the Black Girl Magic Burlesque show on a Friday night. As I was walking toward the front door to enter I was startled by a man sitting on a rock yelling "hey hey hey".. he had a black hat and a black shirt labeled security. He remained seating on the rock and told me not to enter and the show wasn't ready yet. After walking the neighborhood I returned and was instructed to scan a QR code by Mr. Security in order to see the show. The QR code requested my gmail email sign in info and other information (name, number of people in my reservation, etc). I politely refused, as I already had tickets to the show and didn't want to be part of marketing emails. Interactions with security itself is an experience. Take notes and read other reviews also indicating the same sentiment. Nonetheless, checked in for the show which has a two drink minimum ($26) was escorted to my seat. The show itself was pretty good, very tasteful and classy. It is an interactive show. You have the option to purchase "funny money" to use to tip the performers. I have seen several shows at the Lamarre theater that were fun and enjoyable, but Black Girl Magic and Burlesque was the worse show I have ever seen in my lifetime, anywhere. There was no magic or burlesque. It consisted of 5 black girls who danced and came into the audience for a money grab with each number. It was more like going to a low end strip club without the nudity. The staff encourages you to buy "funny money" to be used as tips to the dancers. You cannot exchange any unused "funny money" at the end of the show for real money and if you try to use the "funny money" outside of the venue, you run the risk of being arrested by the Feds. At the end of each dance number, a staff member crawls around on the floor to pick up the money and put it in a basket. Very sad. Save yourself some time and money and stay away from this show. read more

Depending on your expectations - venue, the "theater" is part of the strip mall, next door to the brewery. Under same roof. Everything very small. But...it is have atmosphere like your good neighbors invited you to spend time together, have fun, little drinks, good ol' time. Everyone is very pleasant, personal, approachable (from security guy to the Star of the show). Show is nice. Elvis was very talkative, took time to get to know his audience. Oh Wow! Where, and how, did this go sideways! The Lamar apparently just opened two weeks ago, or at least that is what I overheard some of the employees mentioning. It showed in so many ways throughout the time that I was there. It's located in the Arts District in an old storefront that has been remodeled to include a "showroom" as I'd call it, not a theater. From the minute you walked in the heat of the room was on full display with many waiting in the lobby fanning themselves. There was a previous "Soul" themed show still going on for which you could hear every word due to the walls not being very well insulated. I was there for the opening night of "Elvis...On Night" performed by Vegas local Steve Connelly. The show was slated to start at 7pm, but at 6:50pm the previous show was still going strong. As we all sweltered in the lobby waiting for the previous show to end, it became apparent to me that our time was not as important to them as it was for them having fun. At nearly 7pm we were all told to go line up in the hallway outside of the "theater" entrance, only to now stand there for another 20 minutes while "Elvis" does his soundcheck. Again, our time meant nothing to them. It was in the hallway that I noticed the thermometer set at 83 degrees. Their attempt at saving money at our expense? Finally seated in the GA section, which I had no problem due to having comped tickets, I noticed the VIP table seating was filling up fast at $80 pp. The show finally starts at roughly 7:30pm, and it went downhill from there! Steve is actually a great Elvis impersonator, he actually sounds a lot like him, but when every single thing is meant as a "joke"...it just gets old really quickly! Beyond the screeching mics, the stage lighting that is actually blinding you the patron, and the fact that every single song is being moaned and grunted for its entirety, the constant stopping to make another joke and twitching of the face is simply tiresome. So much so that the couple in front of me in the VIP table area got up and left after maybe 15 minutes? Everyone noticed and was smirking because they knew this was a train wreck. I had to take the opportunity to leave prematurely as well when Elvis decided to take a slight intermission! I'd even argue that the premise of the show was to recreate the famous night on television that Elvis made his return, his last major appearance, but instead this was more like Steve's former weekly show at The 4 Queens. The whole thing came off like a high school drama department production, rather than "Arts District" production in the most famous city for live performances. It's no skin off of my back as I was "comped" to see it, but sticking up for those who paid $60 & $80 pp to see something that clearly wasn't ready to be viewed by paying customers, that was a "strange" experience. read more

We had an amazing experience at the Lamarre watching Steve Connolly perform as Elvis. The Lamarre is a smaller venue, so it's a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the the performers. If you're not familiar with Steve Connolly, he's been impersonating Elvis for over 25 years in Las Vegas. That's evident immediately when he gets on stage - his stage presence is immaculate. He performed directly to audience members, told jokes, and danced through the tables, just like Elvis did. Steve even stuck around at the end of the show so everyone could take pictures with him! The Lamarre Theater is a terrible venue. Parking is a problem and they keep the doors leading to the street locked so people have to wait outside in the heat. The check-in process is terrible and the security guard is extremely rude. It is too hot in the lobby and in the showroom. The bar does not open until after the show starts. The break between shows is too short, the audiences overlap. read more

From the time we stepped in the door our event started. The customer service was awesome, the reception seating area was beautiful and comfortable. But most of all the show was amazing!! On my recent visit to Las Vegas I stopped in at the Lamarre Theater to see The Thunderdome Queen, Tina Turner, featuring Michelle Marshall. I truly must say my party of eight definitely got our money's worth. Ms. Marshall was electrifying from beginning to end. The initial check in was kinda Covid 19 obsolete, however the show was totally awesome. Whenever in Vegas let The Thunderdome Queen mesmerize you.. Fyi...awesome drinks also. A waitress will take your drink order. I had a mixed drink. My husband had a beer. During the show, "Tina" came into the audience and interacted with the audience. It was fun.
