PLEASE PLEASE READ FOR THE SAKE OF THE ANIMALS!!! After 3 weeks of fostering, learning more about the foundation, and dealing with one of the most traumatizing moments I've had to go through today, I've learned my lesson the extremely difficult way and am beyond disgusted with the labelle foundation, the labelle family, Sam Peraino, Bella Navarro, everyone who works there, and the foundation as a whole. I would truly NEVER recommend this disorganized, heartless, disrespectful, money hungry, company to potential foster parents or support them in any way moving forward. They absolutely do not put the care and concern of the animals first. I urge you all to find other foundations to work with, support and follow aside from Labelle. ( an ex. being @hitlivingfoundation) I don't have the biggest platform but their behavior needs to be shared and addressed publicly. please keep reading ------ This morning I went in for a vet apt. for noodle (my foster dog) & a meeting w/ management to further discuss why I wasn't allowed to adopt him ( 3 of my close friends adopted their first time fosters ). After dealing with extremely condescending behavior and immense disrespect, they just took noodle away from me claiming I was an unfit and dangerous home because of my "attitude" and would no longer get to see him or foster him. I'm still sobbing and in shock. I did everything I could to make him learn humans were safe, that he was cared for and gave him so much love. I barely could say goodbye & wasn't able to give him his crate, food, any toys and medicine I got from a vet I went to ON MY OWN bc I told them he was coughing and they said he was fine.... there was no world where I was expecting this to happen today. I expressed multiple times all I cared about was his happiness and all I wanted was to keep him happy until he got adopted, but now this poor traumatized dog is being held at labelle, where he got kennel cough and wasn't loved nearly the way he was in my home. I went in to fostering never with the intention to adopt the dog, but we truly bonded so I decided to reach out. Their reasoning as to why I couldn't keep him in the first place was because of the "first time fosters can't adopt" policy, however 3 of my close friends were able to adopt their first time fosters so I knew there were ways around this. Every time I asked questions in regard to navigating around the policy they said my concerns were irrelevant and then proceeded to lie to my face making up fake back stories about why my other friends got to adopt their dogs their first time and how I couldn't. They also brought up the fact that sometimes people are able to because they may be close with the labelle family ??? Which has absolutely nothing to do with navigating the best household for the puppy. Anyone who speaks up about a negative experience gets blocked and all negative comments are deleted. There are still some Yelp reviews w/ other horror stories and I'd advise you to read those (unlike me who misjudged the foundation by their large following and seemingly trustworthy online presence). I would never post something like this if I didn't truly believe that this organization is not operating with the animals best interest at heart. They move in a way that's solely for profit, caring more about potential adopters social media presence, personal status, and relationship with the labelle family, instead of actually getting to know the potential adoptees to decifer the most fitting homes for the dogs. The way the took noodle from me with absolutely no warning after he blossomed from a traumatized anxiety riddled baby into the most incredible loving boy under my care AND disregarding him having any items that would bring him comfort in his new environment is just one of many examples of their lack of care. This family is also known for bullying, racism and homophobia..... What matters most is saving the dogs and I acknowledge that they do good by rescuing them from horrible situations and rehousing them. However, the intention behind this company and the way they're moving is disgusting and needs to be addressed. Please share with your friends or any animal lovers. There are so many more, heart felt caring dog foundations ran by actually kind and loving people to work with instead. I am known by all of my close friends as the biggest dog lover and animal loving person. To be accused of being "dangerous" to my 3 week long foster is complete absurdity, and then tricked into a vet appointment so they could actually take him away from me was beyond heartbreaking, and then to be treated with the disrespect Sam Peraino, Bella Navarro and Juliette Labelle treated me with was just horrible. DO NOT FOSTER WITH THEM OR SUPPORT THEM. PLEASE LEARN FROM ME

Huckie got a second chance in life. We love you doggie.

This is a successful story. I started as a foster for Huck (former name Huckle). Within the time we fostered him, we fell in love with Huck. He is such a dorky, fun, energetic doggie. He fit right into our home. I am so thankful for Labelle foundation and their hard work. Doggies do deserve a second chance and Huckie is proof of that. He is triving in our loving home. Thank you!

The Labelle Foundation team works tirelessly to save puppies/dogs everyday. I've seen it first hand and it looks like an exhausting job with little gratitude. The time, money and love spent on better lives for these animals is enormous and it's so inspiring to see these women do something so good for the world and to be the voice for the voiceless. I'm so lucky to have found my best friend from this foundation. He was with terrible owners and he was so lucky to have been saved by such wonderful people. The Labelle foundation made sure he was in great shape and was well loved before he made his way into my home. They really do care about every animal that walks through their door. I am lucky that he gets to be a part of my life now. It's not everyday you see an organization go to such lengths to save dogs. Thank you Labelle!!

I do think sometimes it is like winning the lottery because some of these amazing loved foster pups get hundreds of applications.

I truly don't think I've encountered a creature sweeter than him. It was always my intention to adopt a companion for him but I couldn't figure out the best way to go about bonding. Life happened and somehow 5 years went by where I didn't have the time or confidence to go through the bonding process myself or the finances to outsource it. Honestly... I felt guilty constantly. I knew he deserved better. Rabbits form bonds with each other that are so beyond what humans could ever imagine feeling for one another, and I wanted this for him desperately. Fast forward, May of this year came and I was done waiting. After some time spent scouring the internet, BWF came up. I emailed them, along with a few other adoption agencies, and the next day I got such a kind email back from the founder Lejla. She vocalized that she could see how much my little guy meant to me, and was so kind. We set up a phone call where I got a feel for how knowledgeable and caring she and the rest of the organization is. When she told me that they actually offer complementary bonding services, I was sold. Lejla claims to be a bunny match maker. I love the idea of that so I had no problem just buying into it, but logically I know it sounds a bit silly (and cute) saying to other people. But listen. I described Floyd's personality to her over email, and immediately she sends a picture of this adorable white nosed cinamon girl. She says something like "this is his future wife... don't ask. I'm a bunny match maker". We set up an appointment, the girl bun she sent me a picture of was brought along with some other potential partners, but in my mind I was like "hey, we might as well just try them out first." They got along immediately. If you know bunnies... you know this is NOT always the case. I think she might actually be a bunny matchmaker haha. Floyd and his cinnamon girlfriend (I named her Bambi) had their first date on a beautiful sunset evening backdrop, and afterwards they were whisked away for their honeymoon. I'm coining the phrase bunnymoon. I got them back a week later, and I can't even express the happiness this whole experience has brought me. Floyd is in LOVE. Bambi is in love. I'm in love with both of them. I get to watch how happy Bambi is here in her home, she zooms around like a puppy. I get to wake up and see them cuddling or grooming each other. Every time I look at either or both of them my heart swells. There's so many benefits from adopting from BWF, this is way longer than I meant for it to be, but seriously. This organization is so good and so caring. Bunnies are really misunderstood here in U.S. and they're spreading such important information on how they really need to be treated. They give you so many great detailed resources on veterinary care, what types of food to give, which brands are best, the list goes on. They haven't failed me a single time yet. They've only brought happiness for me, and more importantly, Floyd and Bambi. I'm really grateful for BWF.

I affirm the contents of that one other review for this. Speaking of which, organizations that do…read morereally well in doing so much good for the community should receive more of the recognition and support they deserve! :) The nonprofit is the base that hosts volunteer activities initiated by different groups all over the city. It is the hub from which various other nonprofits voice and turn the wheels of their projects. Even a recent Yelp Beach Cleanup event, associated with Heal the Bay, required volunteers to sign up first with LA Works. For MLK's Day, LA Works planned a morning at Rosemont Elementary where hundreds of people, most of them a part of their employer company (ex. Target, Home Depot, JP Morgan, Accenture), showed up to help revitalize the campus. A radio station came prepared with dancing and music to jumpstart the day. Volunteers were assigned letters and numbers, then told to report to their assigned tasks. It was all very organized and efficient. They cleaned the computer labs, classrooms, storage room and rec room. Adults and kids alike transformed drab brown walls into a playground of rainbows and sunshine. Snacks, juice and water were available throughout the event. Following, food trucks showed up, some of which were either prepaid by the organization or declined to charge. You can become a volunteer by signing up for an account - and then going through their available search options for projects you would be interested in. I like looking through their calendar for a big picture of their activities. Some projects, like anything that has to do with animals, are hot and fill up faster than others. Clicking on the individual project listing will provide a detailed description and, more importantly, the geographical location/zip code. Trust me, the easier it is to get there, the more available and willing you are to enjoy the event, maybe even on a weekly basis.

I've volunteered twice so far through LA Works: helping paint preschool walls at the Westside…read moreChildren's Center, and Toddler Time at LA Family Housing. It was easy to sign up for both events; the respective coordinators got back to me quickly, and I had a wonderful time. You really do feel like a part of the community when you help out your fellow residents. Many people say they wish they could set aside time to volunteer, and I'd just like to tell them that it doesn't take any effort just to ask how you can help, and the rewards are neverending. I look forward to helping out with future events. Thank you again!
