The life guards don't say anything to kids running in and out of the 0ft area. They leave it to the parents of the babies to say something. I get it, the kids are just playing and mean no harm but there's many other areas for a older kids and the babies are limited to a small area. I've been here twice and will be back.

They had a lot of available amenities for us to use if we needed them. The day of process was great! They had carts available for us to utilize to unload/load our items. The Maple room was fantastic and large enough for our space. In the contract, you can request the staff to set up the chairs and tables for you for an additional fee, which we opted for. All we had to do on our end was set up the party decorations and set out the food. They assisted us in setting up the audio, there was a mic for us to use, and a tv if we needed it. The room itself is connected to the patio area, which would be fabulous for an evening event or when the weather is nicer! They also had doors for you to use to exit straight to the bathroom area. There was plenty of parking as well and a playground nearby for the little ones. I was very happy with this space highly recommend!

I was invited to D-Bat by my niece as she's training for her upcoming college softball season…read more It's nice to see indoor batting cages are available as it's quite miserable outdoors to be hitting balls for an hour. The cage we used was in good shape- the floors, the netting, etc. The speed, the type of pitch and the pitch location are all able to be selected prior to entering the cage from a screen outside. The pitches were quite accurate to the settings we chose and almost every pitch was a strike, so you're not wasting your time with poor pitches. The downsides were limited, but included waiting about 3-5mins for the machines to rotate between baseballs and softballs. I also found it difficult to time up the pitches as the tubing to deliver the ball to the machine was short and not completely transparent, and once the ball hit those wheels it was halfway to me. Being a guest, I'm not sure what the membership rates are or what the price for individual sessions cost, but my niece said it's reasonable. My other mommy friends also join us, so he had some familiar faces to play with. It's held once a week for about 6 to 8wks (class length varies) indoor, they have cars, balls, hoops, ramps, tunnels, blocks, trampolines, lots of stuff that littles under 3yrs old can play with for 45min. It includes song time and a bit of outdoor play with bubbles if weather permits. I like having affordable, short term commitment classes like this for my son, esp during the summer. I really have zero complaints: registration is easy, it's affordable, it's nearby, it's entertainment for my little man.

The SDFC fitness training options include group wellness, personal training, swim lessons, lifeguard training, safety education, and adaptive recreation. Sports programs include sports clubs and intramural sports. Note that some of these options and programs may have extra costs associated with them. The Tempe SDFC amenities include the Bike Co-Op, Sun Devil Kids Camp, Shake Smart, Equipment Rental, and Locker Rental. It has been many years since I have taken part in personal training at the SDFC, though I have a faculty/staff membership currently and have used this location (and the Downtown and West Valley Campus locations) for working out and using the treadmills, bikes, walking, and using the weight machines. All ASU in-person students pay a fee that includes membership to the SDFC. Non-fee paying students can get a SDFC membership for $100 per semester or $25 per month. Faculty and staff can pay $110 per semester for membership and pay through payroll deduction. ASU affiliates (alumni, ASU contractors, and students attending other colleges or universities) can pay $130 per semester for membership. SDFC members can sponsor someone else for $10 per visit or $45 for five visits through guest passes. I also find myself at different events, most often at the Tempe SDFC. This past week was the annual Vendor Fair, which ASU staff who work most closely with vendors (food and products) and hotels will come to the SDFC and attend a fair in one of the gyms. I have been to conference events, department team-building days, student organization events, and much more on all four campuses. Compared to many other universities, all four of the SDFC locations are state of the art and really set up students to be healthy. I am so glad they have a badminton gym here in Arizona. It is a small facility with only 4 courts. Usually 1 of the courts is taken for private lessons. So sometimes there was only 3 courts or 2 courts. Small gym but very friendly people. People are nice and they will play with you. You play 1 game and 4 will rotate off and 4 will rotate on. After you are done, you put your rackets on the wall and que yourself back in again. People are very friendly at this gym and there is air conditioning so that is nice when is it hot. Admission is $20 per adult. Overall, I had fun at the Arizona Center and will be back here whenever I am in town. I am glad they have a badminton place in Arizona.

This is my first semester using the Student Recreation Complex (SRC) after several of semesters…read moreattending ASU and paying the fitness fees. So this semester I figured I will get my money's worth. The first week back to school the SRC offers free fitness classes! What a great idea, it totally got me motivated. The fit classes are $45.00 and the mind/body classes are about $100.00. Although I would like to take both aerobics and yoga workouts, I think I am going to spare a little cash and just do aerobics this semester. The building and equipment seem pretty up-to-date, there are just some things that show their age, like the woman's locker room and the towels. The woman's locker room is a 3.5 star. It is definitely dated, but kept very clean. The room is unappealing as soon as you walk into this baby blue color that adorns all the tiles on the walls and lockers. Ugh! Showers are open; however there is a section that offers some privacy with easy to see through curtains. The towels are pretty small and thin, but they get the job done. Unlimited towels are available if you buy a locker for $30.00/semester. Most, if not all, of the cardio machines have individual tv's attached. I think there are two weight rooms (which I have not entered yet, but they seem rather large). Free fit and mind/body classes had me partaking in: Yoga flow, Zumba Party, and Butts & Guts. The schedule for fit classes is long, up to 14 classes a day, sure to work into your busy life's! The instructors have all been amazing so far. I look forward to trying out the variety of classes they offer. There is also a smoothie/snack bar. I'm sure I am leaving out so, so much. Being my first week in this gym I have a lot to discover.
