Even though the name says, "Senior Center", this is a multi-purpose facility with a tremendous amount of amenities for everyone of all ages. Some of the amenities include, baseball field, basket ball court, playground, swimming pool, and a workout gym. You will find that this facility is great for meetings because it has a couple classrooms with tables, chairs and white boards. I would assume there are over head projectors and screens. There is a large multi-purpose room in the back that has a foyer that could be used for a large meeting that required a setup just outside of the room, ie registration or packet pick-up. There are a variety of activity rooms. There is also a youth activity room with hang out area, pool, cubbies and TV. The welcome desk is staffed and on a Saturday, there was more than one person working the desk. Really, there's nothing senior about this multi-generational facility. People of all ages can find something to do here. read more

We went to the center because we enrolled our child in the kinder program. Sad to say that this was one if the bigger mistakes we've made. These people are woefully unprepared for dealing with children. Every day was chaos, my child absolutely never walked out of that room having had a good day. One teacher in particular was very mean and my child actually used the word "bully", completely unprompted. Speaking with the director did nothing to help, in fact, that's when it got worse. My child actually started to hate going to this place, with these people and started their entire school career under the misguided and cruel tutelage of these... "people". I would seriously, seriously think twice before sending your child to this place for this service. The pool is great, front desk staff is amazing, everything is clean and well stocked.... just don't take your kids there for school. Please. You will absolutely regret it every single day like we do. read more

This review is for the Swim classes offered at the pool. The Escalante facility is SO much more than a senior center! I had no idea this community center even existed! For $28 I signed my toddler up for a three week swim class (two days a week). Seriously, people. $28. Swim. Class. I am not looking to train him to be like Michael Phelps, I just want him to be comfortable around water and know the basics. Other swim schools will charge you three or four times that per class. I would rather give back to my community, any day of the week! I was nervous to take the boy to swim class for the first time, but the front desk staff were friendly and pointed where to go, and the instructor, Moira is so fun! My son loved her and she kept the class moving. There are picnic benches along the west and north edges of the pool, and in the early evening there is plenty of shade for onlookers. The bathrooms (the women's bathroom, at least) appeared to be clean and stocked. Lots of concrete and not much else, but all you really need is a clean toilet and clean floors. I can't wait to sign up for more classes at this location! A couple of tips for first time moms like me who over-prepare for EVERYTHING: - Bring an extra towel for the kiddo to sit on in the bathroom. It's not dirty, but it is concrete. I layed a towel down so I could change the boy's diaper. - Pool entrance is through the womens/mens shower rooms just off the lobby. The front desk can point the way. - They said there are lockers for rent, but I didn't see any so we took our pool bag out to the deck with us. No issues with anyone messing with our stuff while we swam; there were lots of other families and kids and everyone was super friendly. - Showers are available to rinse off before and after swimming. I didn't see any signs that said a rinse is mandatory before you enter the pool, but maybe I missed something? - No photography in bathrooms (duh). Pool area with permission. read more

I just wanted to comment on the Public Pool here. We love the pool, there is Zero depth for the littler ones with plenty of lifeguards. The lifeguards here are dependable and definitely paying attention. There is a lap pool but no diving boards. One slide. There are sitting areas along the West and North Sides of the pool but be careful in the grassy area, there are ants. It is very inexpensive to go here for the afternoon. The only reason I didn't give the pool 5 stars is because they are only open from 1-5pm and I think those hours STINK! The sun doesn't even go down for another 2.5 - 3 hours and they are already closed. Not very accommodating hours for those who work full time on weekdays. Other than the hours, I cannot complain about this facility. read more

First off let me start off by saying I grew up going here and it has always been such a family friendly, kid friendly place. Now I am 25 and I have been taking my own children here for many, many years now. My oldest daughter is 6 now, and she attended the tiny tots, kinder readiness and kinder program for a few years. Mainly because she was younger than most and I wanted her to take her time gaining the knowledge these programs had to offer. The director is amazing, the teachers were so kind, and cared for my daughter as her own- which if you're reading this ALL you want is for someone to teach, care and love your child like he/she were their own, during the time they have your child. I have had zero issues- in fact, the director and teachers have gone ABOVE and BEYOND my expectations when it came to teaching. The lesson plans were BETTER than any other teaching institution i looked into. Trust me- my daughter had been previously enrolled in a government provided kinder program- and she did not grasp anything they taught her (mainly because their teachers didn't care nor did they want to teach) which is why i I pulled her out after MAYBE 1 month. She loves to read, learn, dance, explore and interact with children. That's another thing- the class was always full of such nice little kids- of course there's always a few students who just don't want to learn, participate or listen so they would cause a ruckus, but other than those few kids- my daughter always came home happy, smiling and ready to go back the next day! We absolutely love this place and I couldn't imagine where my daughters education would be- had i not enrolled her here. She has since been to kindergarten and is absolutely thriving. The teachers are amazed by how fast she learns, how much she knows already and how well behaved she is!! All thanks to the Escalante Community Centers tiny tot, kinder readiness and kinder programs!! Also a bonus- they have the most adorable little graduations, fun music time with Mrs. Renee, gym time, playground time, visiting the garden, and even once I remember- the firefighters came to visit and say hello to the kids- it's still something my daughter talks about to this day!! This place truly deserves an award for how fantastic they perform and handle these children! Absolutely amazing! I am so grateful and thankful! If you're looking for a place for your child, THIS is the place for you! 100000% worth the money- which in my opinion they DON'T charge enough for everything they give! They definitely need to charge more! However, I still recommend this place to all my friends, family and anyone who ever asks about a program where the teachers and director actually care about the kids and WANT to teach them!!! This is great place for kids and adults alike. They have gym for basketball etc and also a workout room with some basic machines. It is good enough! The price to use the facility is ridiculously low! Good place for the neighborhood to hang out. read more
