I called John for help with my dog reactive/aggressive Great Dane. We had used other private…read moretrainers and group classes and were hitting a wall. John's philosophy got us headed in the right direction. The training wasn't easy, but our dog had amazing obedience skills when we were finished with John. John was gentle, and explained why he does what he does. Unlike some dog people, John has people skills. The private trainer we used before him communication skills weren't top notch so John was like a breath of fresh air. He did use choke collar and corrections, but told us that our dog was so sensitive we would maybe use a 3 on a scale of 10. Ultimately we turned to positive reinforcement, but our lives were better for having worked with John.

I like to look around at other dog trainers on Yelp and came across the guy who trained me! I must…read moresay...I am VERY surprised he doesn't have 5 stars! I was trained by him in 2002 and have one of the most successful dog training companies in Los Angeles. The great thing that I can do that most can't (or are not willing to) is offering all techniques/methods. One method is never going to work with all dogs...period. I learned them ALL from John. In my early days of training, he flew down to help me with a German Shephard. People could not go near him without being straight up mauled. The only person the dog trusted was the my client's boyfriend (the actual owner) who had just passed away. She "inherited" the pup. After just a few days (after the dog attacked a runner and also wouldn't allow anyone in the house) she realized she either had the option of putting him down, or taking a stab at getting the dog to atleast be controlled. I had to teach the woman through a screen door because the dog went after me several times (I tried to take the leash several times, but he wouldn't allow it). 3 weeks went by and I still couldn't touch him so I called John. He came down and within 30 minutes, i was petting him. The owner was so overjoyed that she cried like a baby. When he touches a leash, it's like magic...I know it sounds cheesy, but its like he was born with one attached to him. Anyway...because of my education from John, I was able to open up my dream dog training company and have now been on the Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, MSN, Yahoo, Cesar Millan's magazine, his new dog training book...and better yet...the people who write for his show takes my class every morning. With that said...He is an awesome trainer, the best...I owe all of my success to him. Jill Bowers Thank Dog! Bootcamp Thank Dog! Training

So they waited until I showed up to look at his bad teeth and tell me they couldnt bathe him. I asked if they could at least cut his nails because they were long and they refused. It appears to be under new management, and I did not recognize any of the groomers.I booked a full haircut for my dog, which was explicitly confirmed when I checked him in at 8:00 AM. An hour and a half later (9:30 AM), I received a call claiming they could only do a bath and a trim. When I spoke to the manager, they insisted no one was available for a full cut and falsely claimed I had only booked a trim--which they could not even prove or confirm in their system.I picked my dog up 30 minutes later, and he looked exactly the same as when I dropped him off. He received a bath, but he was absolutely NOT trimmed or cut. Charging me $63 for a completely unfulfilled service is unacceptable. The manager completely failed to remedy the situation or take accountability for their scheduling error. This location is now highly unorganized and unprofessional. I will definitely NOT recommend them.
