This restaurant was located right by the American Outpost building. If you have the chance to take a tour at the James B. Beam Distilling Co., this would be an excellent stop to squash your belly down with some food and maybe even some more bourbon. I came here with my parents, my significant other, and my dog. I ordered a Diet Coke and a Jim Beam Highball. The Diet Coke was good. The Highball had Jim Beam Bourbon, Soda Water, and Citrus in it. It was a crisp and refreshing drink. I think it blended well. For food, my significant other and I shared The Kitchen Table Burger and the Pepperoni Pizza. The Kitchen Table Burger came with white cheddar, hickory sauce, garlic aioli, fries. The Pepperoni Pizza had mozzarella, calabrian chilis, hot honey. The Burger was a smash burger and dang, it was awesome! The fries came in a cool metal container alongside the Burger and I was even given ketchup on the side. They were good! The Pizza seemed so unique, yet so tasty! The spice was present the whole time. I loved it. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't please every mouth, especially since it kicked mine around a bit. That made it more original in my opinion, though. Our server was fantastic. She brought everything we needed in a timely manner. I sure was impressed. Overall, I feel this restaurant is a must if you had the pleasure of doing the tour beforehand. Even if you're not going to do the tour, I'd still say you should try this joint out if you can. My parents joined us and they didn't participate in the tour. Lucky to find two seats at the bar for hubby and me. There was quite a wait for a table, otherwise. Knob Creek Rye double barrel is such a treat. Lunch: KY Burgoo "stew". Wish this restaurant stayed open past 5 so locals can have a nice place to eat after a day at work. Not many places around as good as this one and at this point, I've had just about every item on the menu and there isn't a single bad thing. It's expensive but the food is well worth it. I don't know who's grandmother was in the kitchen directing things but this took me back. Those beans were made with LOVE. The food was amazing, we had Brussel sprouts for the table and they disappeared faster than they got to the table. Our server Jennifer explained to us so many things that the resturant had to offer also giving us her recommendation on things she liked. We had a view of the distillery and they still had some Christmas lights up. We even left with a few Jim beam glasses. Defiantly going again. Popped in for lunch before hitting the distillery tour and tasting. We didn't have the highest expectations, but man, did Kitchen Table impress. Had a solid experience at The Kitchen Table after checking out the distillery. I expected the drinks to be good but I didn't really have high expectations for the food since Jim Beam's thing is bourbon but I was pleasantly surprised. My fried chicken and green beans were tasty as were my husband's garlic parmesan fries that I sampled. We had good drinks and service as well. My only criticism was the temperature of my food. The chicken and green beans were a little on the cooled side when they came out and the fries weren't super hot either. This was the second time I'd been to The Kitchen Table. My initial visit was better than the second visit. Overall both experiences have been pleasant and I will be returning. On my first visit, the food was tastier and my cocktails were mixed better. In my second experience, I was told by our server who was amazing, they had been "slammed" and just slowed down. So I'm assuming this had something to do with it. I had a knob creek old-fashioned and a special lemon drop cocktail, the bartender created for me. Both of which were tasty. My sister who is a bartender told me the drinks were a "good price" compared to other places. My family went in on appetizers- duck poppers, southern cheese spreads, and pulled pork empanadas. All of which tasted amazing! I ordered the smoked brisket for my meal but it tasted a bit overcooked. My 6-year-old had the kid's cheeseburger and he reported it to be yummy. The ambiance of the restaurant was relaxing and pleasant. The large A-frame windows brought the outdoors to us as we ate. Although, I would recommend blinds because the sun in the evening became overbearing and I ended up having to put my sunglasses on. Currently, they are open with limited hours and a limited menu. What a great way to start off our day here with the Beam family. Staff was super incredible and very informative. So much to see while waiting on your food you may forget that you even ordered food. Traveling through the area and didnt want to stop at one of the chain restaurants further up the road so decided to try it out. As others have mentioned this is located in the Jim Beam distillery complex. Actually navigating to the restaurant wasn't completely straight forward, from the signs on the road to the signs on the pathways. We managed to figure it out, but the people I was with kept trying to go the wrong way. I know that alot of the people that actually eat here will have done the distillery tour, so they won't have the same navigational challenges that we did. We stopped for lunch on a Friday just before noon and didnt have reservations. There was bar seating, but we had a couple of teenagers with us. To my surprise kids are allowed to sit at the bar in Kentucky, so long as they are with someone over 18. Something about that just feels strange. Instead we got put on the waitlist and decided to go look around outside while we waited. There are quite a few rocking chairs scattered around the grounds, as well as a couple of porch swings. From the various seats you can see much of the surrounding area which made for a relatively painless wait. On 1 side of the menu is the food and on the other is the drinks menu. Neither of the adults got any of the drinks, but they did sound appealing. Perhaps if we didnt have a long trip ahead of us we could have tried some of them. My wife ordered the kitchen table burger, plain. It came out just as desired, meat/cheese/bun and yet it still looked good (so that says something). One kid also got the kitchen table burger, just without tomato. It too came out looking good. The reviews on the burgers were that they were large, and you could tell "they used the good beef to make them". Other kid ordered the pork sliders with bbq sauce on the side. One thing to note about this entree is that there isnt much besides the sliders. Menu states pickles and coleslaw come with it, and they are technically correct. Just quite small portions of each. So much so that we had to order the fries appetizer too. Kiddos review of the pulled pork was "meh", not very good. I was able to try the sliders too since only 2 of the 3 got eaten by the recipient and I would agree that they werent anything noteworthy. The fries that folks got with their burgers were crispy and hot, but what came on the appetizer was soggy and not nearly warm enough. I got the Kentucky burgoo. It was a dish that I wasnt familiar with, but is supposed to be "Kentucky comfort food". Who can go wrong with something that carries that description?! Unfortunately that is all the good things that I can say about the dish. Several of the pieces of meat were actually just straight fat and not appetizing at all. I also didnt care for the flavor that much, but that is definitely to each their own. I really wish that I had liked it, but no such luck Even if we lived nearby, this isnt a place that I would likely come back to unless someone else really desired it. A fun restaurant on the grounds of the James Bean property overlooking everything from the hill. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. We had the brisket empanadas and they were delicious. The pizza next to us from their special Pizza oven looked amazing. For dessert we had the chocolate pecan pie, yummy. I've heard rave reviews about the bourbon balls as well. After several disappointments of going to the complex to find them closed for renovations, I was delighted to find this restaurant. Every year I drive from the Nashville, TN area with my friend for the Indy 500 weekend. We usually stop and buy a bourbon candle and stretch our legs. Sometimes we participated in tastings, but this stop was wonderful. Burgoo was on the menu!! I've made this stew before and was glad to see this Kentucky comfort food on the menu. Now, it was listed as a soup instead of the thicker version I made, but it was really tasty and well balanced. Aside from a flight of bourbons the soup was all I got and it was satisfying. My friend got the pulled pork sliders and he agreed that they tasted as great as the welcoming aromas that greated you when you came in. We sat at window table and enjoyed the wonderful views. Our server was Lizzie and she had a great attitude. Servers are usually very busy but she had time to chat and enjoy a few jokes. It had an oriental flair in flavor absolutely delicious. The Bacon wrapped Duck was Exquisite and my favorite of the main course. We also ordered the brisket with fried corn over grits and they were delicious. A must have is their Lemon cheesecake with chocolate bourbon sauce that paired very well with the lemon cheesecake flavors. It was the star of the show in my opinion. We went for our 38th anniversary and really enjoyed ourselves. The view is quite nice of the mountains nearby. In the spring and fall they have outdoor seating to enjoy. The main attraction here is the Tours for James Beam distillery. The land is unbelievable. The aging houses are creepy but awesome. Next it was the fry chicken, Hericot verts, hot honey sauce... The chicken had so much flavor throughout the bite, you can tell it's was brined. Brisket and Grits with corn relish.
