Pleasant, generally helpful staff, and generous sized rooms. The hotel is an old building, and sometimes this shows. Disabled access is limited at best, and there are some rooms with problems staying warm in the winter. That said, the staff are responsive to requests for help, and the provision of an electric heater is made without much fuss.
Provision of parking at the rear of the hotel is an absolute must, as parking in the centre of Wimborne otherwise is nearly non-existent. It's a little hard to get to if you don't know the way, as the entrance is just off the square, and it's easy to let the one way street confuse you. Don't try to get in or out too quickly!
The lack of local competition in Wimborne for a good place to stay does, however, show. read more
