I would go for the other one again if I would stay in Poole. This hotel is so noisy that I could hardly sleep. Normally I can sleep everywhere. There is a big dual carriage way on one site and an industrial estate on the other site. The rooms are a little bit dated compare to the other hotel. The hotel is wheelchair accessible (but no roll-in shower).

This place must be absolutely hopping in the summer! The pig is a restaurant and a hotel, on a beautiful piece of land on the water. I have included several pictures of the view. This is a true farm to table restaurant. We enjoyed a long leisurely lunch that included the 'piggy and fishies' tray, homemade warm bread, cauliflower soup and fish and pork chop mains. Absolutely fantastic meal with wine pairings. We then retired to the lounge for coffee and a bit of a rest before the journey home. A+! The ambiance is 'elegant countryside' and service was top notch. I absolutely must return here with my family in short order as they would love it. PS- may have picked up a bit of a Brit accent while here!!

We saw this nice looking pub in the tiny village and thought we'd give it a try. Was lovely inside, traditional pub like interior with plenty to look at inside. The food was exceptional, we both had Steak baguettes and they were amazing! Something so simple but the ingredients and the time spent to make the perfect lunch really showed! Last night they had entertainment outside and the weather was delightful and we were able to experience the Bourne River Morris Men. It added so much charm to our visit. This is a 400-year-old structure that has been updated so you have all the amenities that you need. Each room has its own name. We stayed in the Fossil Forest.

The decor may not be that modern or flash, but the food and the service was great. We both had the fish pie and rated it very highly. It was full of fish (not sure if local, but tasty nonetheless), and piled high with creamy, cheesy mash - perfect! If you are staying in Lulworth Cove, I recommend this place. It's slightly further afield (away from the Cove itself), about a 10 min walk along the main road, but definitely worth heading in that direction for. There's accomodation too, but can't comment on that as we didn't stay.

Jill brought us to The White Lion joking that, being only 400 years old, it was practically a brand new pub! We came in (mind your head), and were immediately sat down at a big, groaning, family table! Water was served, beers and ciders followed, and then meat pies and fish and chips were ordered all around! This meal was absolutely delicious in the way that only homemade country pub food can be. The cider selection was excellent, and we left refreshed, happy, and ready to take on the rest of our day (mind you, we ALL passed out cold in the van after Stonehenge and on the way back to our hotel)!
