    Sea View Room

This hotel was absolutely breathtaking to be around during Christmas time. Indoors was as cosy as can be and customer service was beyond magnificent. Our stay would not have been what it was without meeting the receptionist, Paul. Paul gave us every recommendation of what to do in Bournemouth and was always excited to talk to us, as were we to talk to him. He made our trip to Bournemouth phenomenal and having such a great host in Paul made it that much better. Thanks Paul and the other staff. We will remember this trip forever.

The hotel I stayed in my first night in the UK - right along the coast, which made for a nice view. The staff was friendly, and the hotel restaurant a good choice.

I explained what happened and although I didn't receive any services, I had paid in full for 5 nights. They refused to refund my money. I would understand if the hotel was fully booked and my reservation prevented other people from booking. But that was not the case. Also since I didn't stay there and I received no services, they would have compromised and give me a partial refund. No one had to clean the room and I dint have the complimentary breakfast. I paid full price for NOTHING! I personally would stay at the Marriott. It is right on the water overlooking the ocean and the service was outstanding.

Clearly this was a case of employee theft. And yet the hotel did nothing about it when I brought it to their attention. Second, the hotel is very clearly unfriendly to children. The various rules on the restaurants, rooftop lounge, pool and gym basically mean that children can't do anything in the hotel outside of stay in the room. Third, the staff at the rooftop bar acted like they were doing me a favor by serving me, and were insufferably arrogant. All in all, a sufficiently unpleasant experience that I won't be back.

On arrival, I was offered a room upgrade for extra money, and when I saw my own room I could see why! Also they charge £5 for parking. My room was old-fashioned, oddly shaped, had no view whatsoever, and was vaguely grubby. The breakfasts were very ordinary. On the other hand, the location is superb, being 5 minutes' walk from the seafront, the ornamental park, and other attractions.

My partner and I booked this hotel as a cheap place to stay for 4 nights while we visit family…read more We weren't expecting 5 star luxury, but this hotel doesn't even meet the expected standard to remain open. Upon arrival staff seemed nice and friendly, but don't be fooled. Our first shock came as we were requested to leave a £50 deposit which was never mentioned to us before booking, nor is this mentioned in the T&C's on their website. We were assured thai would be refunded to us on Friday morning. We walked into our room, and it was basic.. What we were expecting. However we were not expecting everything else that came with it. The Musty smell as soon as we entered the room. The smell of Marijuana as we entered into the hotel hallways - not to the staff's care or surprise. The smokers, drug addicts and ex convicts lining the entrance way. Beside the smell, the first thing to catch my eye in the room was all the crusty marks and stains in the carpet, shortly followed by the walls being smothered all over in disgusting stains, including what appeared to be dried blood, disgusting and not good enough for paying guests to sleep under. The following day the disgust continued, I went around the room with a wet wipe as I usually do as my partner is allergic to dust. This usually only takes one wet wipe to get the remaining tiny pieces of dust. At this hotel, this took my 5 wet wipes before I had to give up as there was too much to clean. My cleaning also had to continue onto the radiator which had disgusting food, grease, blood and god knows what else stained all over it. After cleaning I thought I may sit down and have a nice cup of tea and relax...as much as i could in our disgusting room. However I came to make the tea and found myself having to press the button on the kettle about 50 times before it would actually stay on. Moving onto the bathroom, which I was expecting to be somewhat better. However boy was i wrong A plug that didn't pop up so i had to prise it up with a knife to actually get the water to drain out. Cracks on multiple tiles with mould all over the floor grout - a health and safety hazard. You'll find more videos and photos of our room attached in this google drive folder: After the state of our room I didn't think our stay could get any worse. One day during our stay we had to take care of my partner's 6 year old brother. This was a particularly cold day so my partner brought her brother back to the hotel in order to get out of the freezing cold as he is only a little boy and to have a bit of lunch, this was also as my partner has sensory issues and mental health difficulties and thus needed a place of her own to be in her own environment for a little while. When they walked into the lobby, the gentlemen who appeared to be the manager said to my partner that she cannot take her 6 year old brother up to the room as he "he may be carrying drugs", which is ridiculous, there are people in the hotel with drugs, the smell of weed is unmissable, I suggest the management deal with this first. This continued and the manager put my partner in a heightened emotional state, she has troubles with emotional regulation, if while this was happening she had been left on her own then she could very well have hurt herself. Because of this I had to return to the hotel. At this point I took my partner and her brother upstairs for two reasons, my partner really needed to be in her own environment so that she could calm down, this was not going to happen in the lobby, especially with the type of people there. And that I wasn't going to leave the 6 year old boy in the lobby alone as the druggies, ex-convicts and prostitutes wandered around him. I asked the Manager what he would like me to do, leave the 6 year old alone with the druggies to leave my partner in the room alone to kill herself, he did not seem understanding at all of the situation just repeating that they could stay in the lobby, I again explained to him why this was not possible, he again seemed to ignore me. The manager then threatened that this "incident will only be reflected in the deposit" On the day of check out, I asked the manager how much of my deposit I would be getting, he replied that the boy would have to be charged. I again asked him what he would do in my situation. As I was explaining the issues and then also bringing up the disgusting nature of the room he seemed to ignore me and was looking at his computer and phones. He kept trying to butt into my explanation of things, I kindly asked that he listen to what I had to say and let me speak, he continued to butt in. At this point the manager refused to listen to me saying that he didn't want to listen to me and that I should put it all in an email, I explained to him that I would like to be listened to, he kept telling me to just put it all in an email. I then requested that my deposit be returned and that I receive a refund as well To which the reply was we'll see and that I am only making

I wish that I had read the reviews on Yelp before staying at the Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth…read morebefore staying there while in the area for a wedding in August, the only thing going for it is the handy location for the beach. It was truly one of the worst places that I have ever stayed which was disappointing as it wasn't cheap either. As you check in there is a £2 credit card fee to pay for the room which always rubs me up the wrong way. Our room had a window that couldn't be opened, had a damp mildew smell throughout and looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a while. We put up a make up the room sign but nothing happened while we were out all day. We complained and were upgraded to a much better room, which looked like it had some problems with damp but didn't carry the smell. The upgraded room was also incredibly difficult to find as the signs in the hotel were not correct. They have a swimming pool and gym on site but it costs extra to use which was annoying as a paying hotel guest. We tried to complain using the details provided but have received no response despite repeated reminders. The place needs pulling down and starting again. Avoid!
