They are primarily a whiskey bar with 300 bottles of the sweet nectar of the gods. There's also a few beers and wines, but why would you come to a whiskey bar if you don't want whiskey? The menu is broken down by regions- Australian, Canadian, American, Irish, and Japanese. I wanted to avoid ordering something I could get at home, so I asked the bartender for some recommendations for an Australian whiskey. Two hours and three different Australian whiskeys later, I sadly had to go, but I had a great time! The bartenders were so friendly, as were the other people at the bar. I don't know when or if I'll be back in Melbourne, but I would definitely stop back by the Whisky Den.

The elegant atmosphere immediately caught our attention, with a huge window facing the street and high ceilings adorned with shelves of liquor bottles. As we were seated, Calvin, who came out from behind the bar, introduced himself and made us feel very welcome. Even menu was quite extensive, but the popular items were located on the front part of pages. We ordered the Glenlivet 24 with their special label and the "Infused Old Fashioned", both of which were well made. My only criticism was that the old fashioned was a bit too sweet for my liking. Overall, the staff was attentive and friendly, making us feel well taken care of throughout our visit. We would definitely consider coming back to this whisky bar in the future!

Amazing, knowledgeable, and down-to-earth staff who suggest just the right drink or tasting flight. 3. Friendly, low-key, and comfy atmosphere. My husband and I planned a whisky crawl for a visit to Melbourne. We're from the US, and we wanted to focus on Australian whisky. We visited a few other places in town, which were fine, but it turns out we saved the best for last. Truthfully, several friends had recommended Whisky & Alement, but I wanted to go to a place with a slightly larger bar food menu. Boy was I wrong. The well-prepared jamon, almonds, and lightly pickled vegetables were ample and a perfect complement to the whiskies. Lachlan went the extra mile to figure out our tastes and then made great recommendations. His descriptions of each distiller's style were interesting. He even made recommendations for our trip to Sydney! We hope to return.

The shelf that they had at the back of the bar was pretty impressive.

I'm going to keep it short, in the hope that you'll brush over this and move along to the next listing. The ladies and gents at The Everleigh know how to mix a great cocktail (ignore the menu and have them guide you), the décor is stunning, and the location discreet. It's the perfect spot for a mid-week rendezvous or nightcap. A word of warning about the bar snacks: I've seen grown men and women have to beg for restraint once they start in on these things. I don't know what they're coating those little soy snacks with, but they're addictive. Best you not even start. In fact, you should avoid this place altogether.

Rotating craft beer taps, bottled cocktails, lots of interesting things to try and the bar staff are happy to offer suggestions. The big plus with Loretta's is that you get full access to the Bluebonnet menu, even when the main dining room is between sittings. There are also several bar-only sandwich options to flesh out what is already a pretty tempting range of bbq and sides, although I lament that currently there is no broccoli salad on offer. Anyway, if you love good bbq, good booze and a laid back atmosphere, I recommend you check it out..or maybe don't - me and Loretta have a thing going on and I might not want to share.

In fact it took me a bit to actually locate the place since it isn't hugely advertised, however once you step inside it is pretty awesome, but I suspect that is what the whole prohibition theme is about. The service wasn't bad, and while it is a little pricier than norm, they do have a pretty good selection of beers. From the second I walked in, I was greeted in a very enthused way and throughout the night my waiter (sorry forgot your name!) walked me through all the different pairing options whether it was a triage of whiskey beer and an edible matching snack, or something to simply pair with my hangar steak. Most interesting thing he introduced me to was the bone marrow louge. Once you've eaten the marrow, they torch the bone to melt any leftover fats then have you hold it to your mouth while they pour a perfectly matched whiskey down it. It was amazing.
