Care a visit to Africa to get a few drinks? Glamp Bar might be your place.
It's small and cozy, it does look like it picks up more of a pretentious crowd as the night goes on. But I left it before it got to that stage. My favorite thing here was the lion rug and the safari tent. To get to Glamp, you have to go through the PolePole restaurant, and you will find Glamp right up the stairs. They do have a few eating choices here, nothing too exciting with cheese boards or these spring roll type things. We opted for the cheese as we just had dinner elsewhere.
With service, I found it to be a little shaky, we were greeted by someone friendly, but in between drinks, ordering something for a nibble, and waiting to catch someone's eye to get another round, it was a little up and down. But the hostess was very friendly.
I do wish the music was more sticking to the theme. That's a little pet peeve though. If you're going to do it out as African themed, all or nothing is my stand.
Word to the wise, happy hour is every day from 6-8pm. Try a drink that stands out to you, and then carry on with your night. They have a select list of cocktails that are half priced. And a few are worth the try. There was one that tasted like spiked Hawaiian Punch, just not in a good way. The Plains of Serengeti was good, the Tom's BFF, not so much. If you're after chocolate with a kick, go for the T.I.A. It's only a one drink place, then you move on. read more
