I wish I could give this place negative stars. Screw this place. And I can't wait for them to delete this review. Not even going to get into all the fucked up horror stories that have happened here. I lost my wallet there and I went back and just so happened to luckily go as soon as a worker was going inside (since it's closed 5 days a week). The dude was a complete dope. He said he would go look and he didn't. He went inside came out with boxes and a drill. Didn't say a word to me and continued to just do random shit. He finally says "go to treehouse" and I said "I didn't even go there last night I know as a fact it's in there" continued to keep saying "go to treehouse." I have called this place at least 50 times and DMed them on Instagram and zero responses. Also the place just was not fun, so overpriced and the drinks were horrible, tasted like vodka water. Friday night and barely anyone there. Dopey place ran by terrible people. read more

The Kennedy was cool to me when I was still under 21. Now that I'm a little older it has completely lost its flair. Not to mention that they have became 10x more pretentious over time (charging a fee to use a debit card at a club that makes hundreds at the bar every night?). $10 for parking in an area where parking is scarce at best. It's just ridiculous - before you even have a drink in your hand you've already blown $20 or more. The crowd is mostly older people and not your good-looking crowd either. The outdoor patio is nice for a club with a crowded inside, but that's almost the only plus. There are better clubs in Tampa Bay. No reason to go here except for their all you can drink special and then get out and head to other parts of SoHo and away from this area. The Kennedy wants to be so much, but falls short. read more

'THE PARTIES HERE'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been having withdrawls from fist pumping and jumping at the Hardrock so I needed a spot quick fast and in a hurry. I then came across The Kennedy. I heard it wasnt to bad and if I liked house music then this is the place for me and that it was. Saturday night was said to have been doing bad but we decided to check it out anyway. Its call the House Party on Saturdays. They have ladies drink and get in free ALL night!!!!! What a deal but at the same time a mistake...... Drink all night???!!!! WOW waisted. The dj was jumping and the music was none stop fist pumpin jams. We were in there going nuts. Its not a Passions or Opium (those my joints) but its good. The people on the other hand I have to get use to there pretty um well Ill keep it to myself but the dress code is nonexisting! Friday night is Seductve fridays Its not bad but just get ready to listen to reggae, rap and hip hop. I love it all but I cant dance to that all night thats more like vibbin to me. The place has a nice feel and the outside lounge is fly. Overall so far this is my new Tampa spot! It was okay. The music was decent... there was a young to middle-aged crowd, but the DJ just seemed kind of weird. There was a period of time when he was kind of acting like DJ Kool in "Let Me Clear My Throat," where he's talking to the ladies and saying if you got your own job pay your own bills you don't need a man, etc. etc. But then he started saying "if you ain't got no STDs, put your hands up." Not just once, or twice, but about a dozen times he kept doing this throughout a couple hours. Is it seriously that bad in his life that he has to keep bringing that up? Anyway, the place seems to be intended as a meat market, & it probably suits that need based on what I was seeing there. Monday's are hospitality nights in which if you work in that field admission is free before 12AM with proof drinks are also cheaper. They also offer a guest list and a complimentary table and bottle service ( Kettel Vodka) for hospitality for a low price. In addition you can also get the Magnum size bottles for half price. Bottle serv requires you to have a party of a min of 5 people. There is no seats in this club unless you have a reserve table. Drink and get in free before 12AM. Outside- has a bar and reserve seating area. The DJ plays throw back music. With only 1 bar. Down fall is the have fans which they never have on. Inside- The has WILD 94.1 radio station as the DJ. Which they play radio music for the diverse crowd. Along with bottle serv also. The back of the room they have a photographer pictures are $10. There's 2 bars one is a Tab bar the other is normal bar. Overall its a nice night club mixed crowed. Men dress attire- is pants only and no plain T-shirts. The bouncers at the door charge different cover prices depending on how you look as well as if you're male or female. If you're underage, expect to either slip $20 extra under your ID or get a zip-tie cutting off the circulation to your hand. When you're in, there's gross tables and "VIP Booths" with people just smoking (with no ventilation). The drinks are far over priced and I've heard several stories of different people being drugged in their drinks. The staff will not hesitate to throw you out for no reason at your own expense- physically and financially. The manager, "Jackal", will attempt to get with younger females and offer them and their friends free drinks. The music was all around bad and I have nothing good to say about this establishment. The parking situation is terrible. Your only option is basically valet or walk inconsiderable distances with high heels. Long lines to get in, which isn't so much of an issue but security was stricter than necessary. Music is great, drinks are somewhat watered down. Atmosphere was alright, location can accommodate a large amount of people. Would go back for the music but probably just Uber next time. read more

I used to think the Kennedy was "just okay" back when I frequented Soho before turning 21. I wasn't a huge fan due to the weird crowd and less than ideal music, but the decor was nice and the drinks were usually decent, so I went a few times. Now, that's all changed. I haven't come here in quite a while, but decided to meet up with some friends last night. My experience on this particular visit stopped before I even got in the door and did not leave me with a good impression. Saturday is "Spanglish" night according to their website. Before I headed out I tried to call to find out if there's a cover charge. Nobody answers when you call, instead they just send you a lame automated text about how they're busy and they prefer to text back instead of call. Um, okay? So come to find out through the fabulous texting service, this is one of those clubs who thinks they should charge cover for females over 21, even on a regular Saturday night with no special events. $10 charge, to be exact. Despite the fact that I find this to be quite unnecessary, especially when they're already going to be making money off of the drinks, I chose to go anyway. Upon arriving, I discovered the new lovely parking charge. They never used to charge for parking before. The guy tells me "$15 cash only" to park. Is this a joke? I'm supposed to pay to park my car myself in your crappy, unpaved, dirt lot which is already jammed full and likely to get my car hit by some bozo pulling out of there later? I kindly inform him I did not bring cash and was therefore unable to park. He suggested I could go to the ATM across the street to take out money from a bank (besides my own) and pay a fee to take that money out so I could come back and pay him to park in his shabby lot and then pay again to walk in the front door of the club? Flyer online says $50 all you can drink TOP SHELF get there and they charge $20 saying it's still all you can drink we pay and go in and the bar tender apologized saying they just changed it so we can only get cheap nasty we'll drinks? $10 cover + $15 parking + overpriced drinks. Located in South Tampa off Kennedy Blvd in between Howard and Armenia. This place only gets busy around 12-1. The crowd here is terrible. Reggae / Rap Fridays are ghetto as hell, on Spanglish Saturday's no one speaks English, and on Magnum Monday's everyone is underage. The bouncers hold the line so they don't have to honor their ladies drink free 10-11 special on Saturday's and so the club looks cool. Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

I just went to the Kennedy this past weekend while visiting Tampa. Apparently, this is one of Tampa's newest and hottest clubs/lounges, and it is very hard to get in. Thankfully, we had a friend who knew someone at the door and got us right in. The club is one floor and it is decent sized. There are closed off areas for VIP bottle service. Not sure if the music is different every night, but I went on a Saturday, and the DJ played hip hop, house and some dance from 70s-80s. We LOVED the music ... The drinks are moderately priced, but the bartenders are a bit rude. The crowd is good looking, definitely bring your A game here and dress well. I would definitely come back here next time I come to Tampa. read more

For Tampa, it's about as nice as it gets! it's beautifully decorated with that dark, classy red & black velvet lounge kinda look. Prices are reasonable, service staff is great (don't have to wait long for a drink even when it's packed), there are ALWAYS lots of hot girls, always good music and they will sometimes bring in acts like top DJ's or current artists to perform. Music is usually hip-hop with some house/techno also. It's nice because the music is loud but not so loud that you can't hear the person next to you talking (hate places like that). The bottle service in VIP is on par with the nicest places in Vegas and NY...it's that good! It's open Thurs-Sat and gets pretty packed almost every day it's open now. Saturday is their big night so if you don't get their early or know somebody, you might wait a little while to get in. read more

We went here for a friend's birthday and had a good time, but it's definitely on the pricey side. I will say it's good for dancing and has an outdoor patio area which is nice. It used to get overly crowded in there in the past. Some of the staff is friendlier than others so overall I'd say it's average given that and the price of the drinks. read more

If you get there early you can get a free drink token, which is nice. We got there around 10:30 and we were the only people inside. After 11 everyone else got there, at least half of Tampa was there. It was packed. Good for a dancing atmosphere. The music was good, loud and I never had to wait too long at the bar for a drink (which is good because I am a great drinker and only an OK dancer until i get enough alcohol in me) I would go back if i had the option. $5 Valet Parking. The Yelp Check gives you one free shot offer. Redeem it offer at cashier. They will give you a ticket to give to the bartender. You don't have a choice in the free shot. It is tequila, watermelon and redbull. We got there before 11p and was able to get in for free. Guys had to pay $10. A lot of lounge areas but seems you have to reserve the table/space. I saw Paul van Dyk here a while back. It was a pretty cool night club. However, it is not the best concert venue. The problem: very very crowded and very very hard to move about. It is very hard to see the stage unless you are directly up front. I also recall it getting really hot inside. If you are going to see a good concert here, dress lightly as you will surely get sweaty. The staff was friendly, but due to the crowd, it was very hard to get timely service. The bar in the middle was extremely difficult to get service at. The bar in the back was a little better. I do not blame the service, it was just difficult to do anything with the crowd being packed in like sardines. The patrons were very trendy. I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing. It was a Paul van Dyk concert, so I guess it should have been expected. He has been around for a while, so I hoped the crowd would be a bit older. Not sure how the crowd would look on a non-concert night. I generally do not do night clubs a lot. Only occasionally when I really want to see the artist performing. This was one of those nights. I enjoyed hearing Paul van Dyk, even though I could not see him very well. I would definitely hesitate to see another act here. I have not been here for a quite some time. It is possible they have found a better way to deal with crowds. Overall, it is a beautiful establishment and they bring in some good electronic acts and generally play good electronic music. My friend asked me how my birthday went on a Saturday night when I went here. This was my response to her: "Only good thing was the guy let me go in for free cos I told him it was my birthday. Kennedy is a great place but the crowd mix there makes it unfriendly and kinda ghetto. A fight broke out at the end and cops showed up. Was visiting Tampa from Miami. This place was recommended by a friend. Was there Saturday night and the club was pretty cool. The only downfall they played Spanish rap and reggaeton the entire night. Probably heard 3 hip hop songs. Spanish rap is not my fave. But other then that VIP was nice and waitress were really nice. read more

i've been coming here the past few weekends. there's 2 lines, the normal line and the fast line. i've paid $20 for admission for the fast line because usually it's packed. the other night happened to be not as packed so i went to the other line which is $10 instead. ($20 is outrageous for a cover anyways) i get up to get my ID checked and the bouncer is mumbling some shit i ask him to speak up and he's asking me to slip him an extra $5 on top of the cover u have to pay at the door, when my ID is real. so unprofessional and just such broke boy shit aside from being illegal. aside from this at the door the club itself inside i do enjoy so i was disappointed to have this experience. please do better! read more

Well, I would rather go try and have a good time at a trap house in downtown Detroit - seriously! The asian door girl "Lexa" will say anything on the phone to get you there (like "I'll buy you a shot when you get here", but go ahead and ask her why she even works at such a trap and she'll say "oh I don't go inside" - oh so how are you going to buy me that shot you promised me? Catch 22 - trapped (see the theme here? haha) and when I told her "it's going on yelp" she acted like I didn't exist - oh sh*t girl well here I am!). Full of a bunch of scummy dressed guys - dress code what?! Might as well let me in with my nice shorts on and a button up at this rate. Fortunately the super sweet bartender covered "Lexa's" deceiving ways and bought the shot for me, my goodness miss, I am sorry I forgot your name and damn you really deserve to work somewhere better. The ONLY other redeeming factor of this place is both Big John and Big Coop will make sure you are WELL TAKEN CARE OF, I mean these guys were awesome in helping me out with a specific request, very respectful and professional gentlemen. Hit or miss club, some nights are completely dead and other nights are cool. Chill place to go to, the music is always great inside and outside. We went on a Friday for hip hop. Got there early so we avoided any door drama but the place didnt start filling up until after 1am. What made us not mind was how courteous and on point the staff was, from the management on down. The bartenders were friendly and fast. When I stepped into this club it was a full 5 stars. Friendly staff, even down to the bathroom attendant. The interior design of this place was flawless. When you step into a venue and you already feel like you can navigate around is a really good thing. Very sexy decor. I came here when ladies get in free and drink free vodka. There were a lot of women, eye candy you could say. I assumed this place wasn't lesbo friendly when it comes to a single girly on the hunt which is fine, I was there just to have a good time with my taken straight girl friend. When we started dancing, good DJ by the way, we were constantly being hit on by groping men. I don't know if this is the norm here but it was CONSTANT. I just want to dance with my friend and be left alone and not be man handled and thrusted at... This place is wonderful with the exception of the crowd. As nightlife goes the Kennedy is a middle of the road club. In other places not called tampa the Kennedy would be by far the best club but in a almost nightlife Mecca the Kennedy is average. The have a smoke bar outside and are military friendly. It just depends on what you are looking for in your nightlife. They have had artist do appearances and reality tv celebs come through. So like I said from the beginning it's a good time but its just average compared to some of the other places I've been. read more

I was in town for the holiday weekend and everyone said "The Kennedy" was the place to go. Went Friday night but left after 10 minutes because it was so packed (this venue IS NOT big enough to handle big name DJ's). I went back Saturday with some friends and the vibe is so incredibly pretentious I just sat back & laughed. Poseurs, wannabe's, unmerited attitude, this place has it all. I just moved to LA from NYC and go to some of the best clubs in the nation (no, I'm not bragging) but this place takes the cake as far as the snob-factor goes. Big fish in little pond syndrome? Not sure, but I do know I won't be going back. The bartenders were nice, the security guards laughable (sorry I had to turn down your proposition, instead of taking it personally and then giving us dirty looks the rest of the night, you should have been doing your job) and the drink prices were fair. read more

Worst club ever. My boyfriend and I are from out of town, and we looked it up online and saw their advertisement for "ladies get in free and drink free before midnight". When we got there we had to wait in line for about ten minutes, then at the front a man in charge yelled at us and said that women had to pay unless you were on a guest list, and their website had a "misprint". Nice inside (the literal bldg) and the bartenders are super friendly...why three stars? There's few short Napoleon complex having bouncers who are complete ASSHOLES who make problems worse rather than de escalate them.
